Preparation

Operation
•Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.If
lightningisseenorthunderisheardinthearea,do
notoperatethemachine;seekshelter.
•Neverrunanengineinanenclosedarea.
•Onlyoperateingoodlight,keepingawayfrom
holesandhiddenhazards.
•EnsurethatalldrivesareinNEUTRALandthatthe
parkingbrakeisengagedbeforestartingengine.
Starttheengineonlyfromtheoperator'sposition.
•Slowdownanduseextracareonhillsides.Be
suretotravelsidetosideonhillsides.Turf
conditionscanaffectthemachine'sstability.Use
cautionwhileoperatingneardrop-offs.
•Slowdownandusecautionwhenmakingturns
andwhenchangingdirectionsonslopes.
•Neverraisethedeckwiththebladesrunning.
•NeveroperatewiththePTOshield,orotherguards
notsecurelyinplace.Ensurethatallinterlocks

•Becertainthattheseatbeltcanbereleased
quicklyintheeventofanemergency.
•Checktheareatobemowedwherethereare
slopes,dropoffs,orwater.
•Carefullycheckforoverheadclearances(i.e.,

•Removeequipmentfromthetruckortrailerand
fuelitontheground.Ifthisisnotpossible,then
refuelsuchequipmentwithaportablecontainer
ratherthanfromafueldispensernozzle.
•Keepthenozzleincontactwiththerimofthefuel
tankorcontaineropeningatalltimesuntilfueling
iscomplete.Donotuseanozzlelockopendevice.
•Iffuelisspilledonclothing,changeclothing

•Shutoffthefuelwhilestoringortransporting.Do

•Parkthemachineonlevelground.Settheparking
brake.Neverallowuntrainedpersonneltoservice
themachine.
•Usejackstandstosupportcomponentswhen
required.
•Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswith
storedenergy.
•Disconnectthebatteryorremovespark-plug
wirebeforemakinganyrepairs.Disconnect
thenegativeterminalrstandthepositivelast.
Reconnectthepositiverstandnegativelast.
•Usecarewhencheckingblades.Wrapthe
