• To make the most of your new appliance, please read the user instructions carefully and keep them
handy for future consultation
Before using the glass ceramic hob
Hob
• The Hob has to be set into a worktop between 20 – 50mm
deep.
• The distance between the lower face of the glass ceramic
hob and the cupboard or separating panel must comply
with the sizes shown in figure “A”.
• If a column cabinetry unit has to be installed next to the
cooktop, leave a distance of at least 100mm from the edge
of the cooktop.
Cut out the hole in the work surface to the dimensions shown in
the enclosed description sheet.
Clean the work surface, then apply the gasket around the cooktop
( unless it has been already installed).
Important
In order to prevent the electronic circuits overheating and becoming
damaged, we recommend the following:
• Do not install the hob near a dishwasher, or washing
machine as steam or moisture could damage the electronic
controls.
If an oven is installed underneath the hob (from our range of ovens)
please ensure the oven is equipped with a cooling system and the
installation observes the distances shown in figure "B".
Do not place any material between the hob and oven (Cross beams,
panels, brackets etc.).
If the oven is fitted with a self cleaning system (pyrolitic function) do
not use the hob, whilst cleaning the oven.
If the temperature of the electronic circuits exceeds the maximum
permitted temperature, the hob will automatically switch off; in this
case, wait for a few minutes until the of the electronic circuits cool
down, at which point it will be possible to turn the hob on again.
• Turn the hob off after use.

A) If the worktop is made of wood, use the appropriate brackets,
spring clips and screws provided.
• Position the 4 clips (A) around the hob frame, in the slots
provided. See Fig. 1.
• Measure the centre of the vertical sides of the cut-out as shown in
Fig. 2.
• Position the centre of the brackets (C) on the centre of the side
previously identified.
• The upper edge of the brackets must be flush with the worktop
surface.
• Drill and prepare holes ( for screws (B)) in the work surface to
secure bracket (C). Secure using 4 screws (B).
• Insert the hob into the prepared cutout in the work surface, so
that the clips (A) slot into the brackets (B) (Figs 4 & 5).
B) If the worktop is made of marble or other materials (plastic
compounds, ceramics, stone etc.), the hob must be fitted by our
After Sales Service using the specific kit provided. Contact the

The electrical connection must be made before connecting the
appliance to the power supply. The apparatus must be installed by a
qualified electrician who is fully aware of current safety and installation
regulations. The installation must be carried out in compliance with
regulations of the local electricity company. Make sure that the voltage
shown on the rating plate is the same as the power supply voltage in
your home. Regulations require that the apparatus be earthed: use
conductors of the appropriate size only. The manufacturer declines all
responsibility for injury to persons or animals and to damage to
property resulting from failure to observe the above regulations. For
the electrical connection, use a H05 RR-F cable as indicated in the table
below:

Should the hob already have a power cable, see the diagram
showing the connection to the power supply in the description
sheet.
The appliance must be connected to the electricity supply by
means of a multi-pin switch with a minimum contact gap of
3mm.
Warning: the power supply cable must be long enough to allow the
cooktop to be removed from the worktop and must be positioned so
as to avoid damage or overheating caused by contact with the base.
Connecting to the terminal board
Note: the yellow/green earth wire must be connected to the terminal
with the symbol and must be longer than the other cables.
• Open the terminal board as shown on the lid (A).
• Remove approx. 70mm of cable sheath from the power supply cable
(B).
• Strip approx. 10mm of sheath from the wires. Then insert the
power supply cable into the cable clamp and connect the wires to
the terminal board as indicated in the connection diagram near the
terminal board itself.
• Secure the power supply cable (B) using the cable clamp.
• Close the terminal board with the cover (A).
• After completing the electrical connection, fit from the top and hook
it to the support springs as illustrated.
After connection to the power supply, the hob automatically performs a
function check which will take a few seconds.

• Use pans with a diameter is equal to that of the cooking zone.
• Only use flat bottom pans.
• If possible use pan lids whilst cooking.
• Cook vegetables, potatoes etc, using minimum water to keep
down cooking times.
• A pressure cooker allows you to save even more energy and time.
OBTAINING BETTER RESULTS:
• Make sure the pan is placed in the centre of the cooking area
shown on the induction glass ceramic hob.
Energy saving tips
1. Packing
• The packing material can be 100% recycled as confirmed by the recycling symbol ( ).
2. Products
• This appliance is marked according to the European Directive 2002/96/EC, Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE). By ensuring that this product is disposed of correctly, you will help
prevent potentially negative consequences for the environment and human health.
The symbol on the product or on the documents accompanying the product indicates that this
appliance may not be treated as household waste. Instead, it should be handed over to the applicable
collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Disposal must be carried out in
accordance with local environmental regulations for waste disposal. For more detailed information on
treatment, recovery and recycling of this product, contact your local authority, the household waste
disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.
Declaration of CE conformity
• These appliances are designed to come into contact with food stuffs and are constructed in compliance
with EEC (CE) Regulation n. 1935/2004.
• The appliances were designed solely for use as cooking appliances.
• Any other use of the appliances (e.g. heating rooms) is considered as improper use and potentially

• Warning: this is a heavy products which requires the installation to be carried out by two people.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensor or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given initial supervision
or instruction concerning use of the applaince by a person responsible for their safety.
• Before doing any maintenance work on the appliance, disconnect it from the electrical power supply.
• Keep children away from the appliance whilst it is use and wilst it is cooling down.
• The appliances should only be repaired or adjusted by a qualified electrician.
• Make sure the electrical wires of other electrical appliances do not come into contact with hot parts.
• If the cooking zone does not come on, the pan may not be the right size, for that zone, or the pan may
not be induction compatable. Induction compatable pans have an iron base. Check to see if your pans
are compatable by using a magnet. If the magnet sticks, the pan is compatable. If a pan is taken off the
cooling zone, the zone will switch off and the letter "U" is appear in the display. This will disappear
when the pan is replaced on the cooking zone and the zone will switch back on.
• Do not switch on the hot plates/cooking area when there is no pan in position.
• Avoid the use of steam cleaning equipment.
• If liquids spill, or boil over the hob may switch off. Before the hob will reactivate, the control panel area
must be carefully dried.
• Metal objects such as knives, forks, spoons or lids should not be placed on the cooking surface because
they could heat up.
To avoid permanently damaging the glass ceramic hob, do not use:
- pans with bottoms that are not perfectly flat
- metal pans with enamel bottoms.
• When finished cooking, press the button .
• Do not use the cooktop as a work or support surface.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended when frying – fire risk.
• If the glass ceramic surface should break or crack due to a violent impact (falling objects etc.),
disconnect the appliance from the electrical power supply and contact the Customer Care Centre
immediately.
• Do not place food wrapped in aluminium foil, plastic containers or cloths on the hot cooking areas.
• Do not drag pans across the glass ceramic surface – risk of scratching.
• Avoid spilling sugar or other substances on the surface. If this happens clean the surface immediately as
the sugar solution may 'etch' into the surface.
• Never heat a tin or can with food in it.

Hob accessories
Clean the cooking area after use, when cool. This will prevent the
build up of dirt and make cleaning easier.
Important: Avoid the use of steam cleaning equipment.
• Use a clean colth, kitchen roll and washing up liquid, or a ceramic
glass cleaner.
• Remove baked-on dirt with the special scraper tool (if provided)
and specific cleaning products.
• Food spills should be cleaned off the ceramic surface before they
turn hard.
• Foods with high sugar content (toffee, fruit juice, marmalade, etc.)
that boil over while cooking or spattered sugar stains resulting
from cooking should be removed immediately using the scraper,
or they will 'etch' into the ceramic surface.
• Do not use abrasive products, bleach, oven cleaner sprays or pan
scourers.
The glass ceramic hob should be periodically treated with proprietary
brand of wax.
Important
Periodically check that dust does not gather on the apparatus near
the air cooling inlet or outlet openings. This might obstruct
ventilation and the electronic cooling system and reduce the hob’s
efficiency.

Hob not working
• When pressing the control buttons, follow the instructions in the section “Using the hob” in the
enclosed “Product Description Sheet”.
• Is there a power failure?
• Did you dry the hob carefully after cleaning it?
1. If a cooking area has been selected and an “F” appears, contact the Customer Care Centre and tell
them about the F on the display.
- With the exception of the message “F03” or “ER03” in which case check that the control panel
area is clean and dry. Follow the instructions in the paragraph 'care and maintenance of the
glass ceramic hob' (P9).
2. If one of the following codes appears when you press the ignition button on the hob: F12, F13, F22,
F25, F31, F36, F47, E2, E5, E6, E7, E9, contact the Customer Care Centre and tell them which code
appears.
3. If the hob does not work after intensive use, it means that the temperature inside the hob is too high.
Wait for a few minutes until the hob cools down. The display shows the “F21” code.
Important!
If you cannot turn off the ceramic hob after use, unplug the applaince from the electricity supply
immediately and call the Customer Care Centre.
Cooling fan
The hob is fitted with a dual speed cooling fan, regulated by the temperature inside the hob. If the hob
reaches a certain tempterature, the power of all the cooking zones is automatically reduced or, if
necessary the hob is disabled. This is to protect the electronics. After the hob cools, the power levels of
the cooking zones will be increased back to normal, or if the hob was disabled, it will be re activated. The
cooling fan may continue to run after for a few minutes even after turning off the hob.

Before contacting the Customer Care Centre
1. Check the "Troubleshooting guide" to see if the problem can be
resolved quickly.
2. Turn off the appliance and switch back on to see if the fault is
repeated.
If after carrying out the above checks, the fault persists, contact the
Customer Care Centre.
Please give:
• a short description of the fault;
• the precise type and model of the hob;
• the service number (the number after the word Service on the
date plate), located under the hob. The service number can also
be found in the warranty booklet;
- your full address;
- your telephone number.
Note: failure to comply with these instructions could seriously
compromise the safety and quality of the hob.
