GENERAL WARNINGS
It is very important that this instruction book should be kept safely for future consultation. If
the appliance should be sold or given to another person, please ensure that the booklet goes
together with it, so that the new owner can know of the functions of the machine and also be
aware of the warnings.
This warnings has been given for the safety of you and others. We therefore ask you to carefully
read the procedures of installing and using this cooker.
This appliance has been designed for use by adults.
Take care, therefore, that children do not attempt to
play with it.
It is dangerous to modify, or attempt to modify, the
characteristics of this appliance.
If the appliance shows to be damages, contact your
dealer before installing it.
Any modifications to the domestic electrical mains
which may be necessary for the installation of the
appliance should be carried out only by competent
personnel.
Take care when using cleaning products in spray form:
never direct the spray onto the resistance or the
thermostat bulb.
Always use oven gloves to remove dishes from the
oven.
Always insert the dripping pan when using the grill or
when cooking meat on the grid. Pour a little water
into the dripping pan to avoid grease burning and
creating unpleasant smells.
Particular care should be taken when cooking with
oil or fat, as this substances can ignite when over-
heated
For the same reason, be careful when placing or
removing food in the oven, not to let any fat or oil fall
on the oven base. If this happens, carefully clean
the oven to avoid unpleasant smells or smoke.
Cookings in the oven are carried out at high
temperatures (up to 270°C). Ensure you are using
oven-proof pans or trays.
The appliance dischages the combustion products
through the grid positioned between the control panel
and the oven door. It is therefore normal the warm
flow that is perceived by the hand when opening the
oven door.
Never place aluminium foils or any other kitchenware
on the oven bottom during cooking. This will cause
overheating, affect the cooking results and damage
the oven enamel.
Do not leave utensils containing foodstuffs, e. g. fat
or oil in the appliance. This could cause damage in
case the appliance is inadvertently switched on.
When food is heated, it produces steam in the
same way as a boiling kettle does. When steam
comes in contact of the oven door glass, it will
condense and produce water droplets. This is quite
normal and is not caused by fault of the oven. We
recommend you to wipe away condensation after
all cookings.
Disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply
and let it cool down, before carrying out any cleaning
or manteinance work.
The appliance remains hot for a long time after being
switched off. Supervise children at all times, paying
attention that they do not touch surfaces or remain in
the vicinity of the appliance when in use or when not
completely cooled.
Should you connect any electrical tool to a plug near
this cooking appliance, ensure that electric cables
are not in contact with it and keep them far enough
from the heated parts of this appliance.
Ensure the connection cable is not trapped under
the appliance.
Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair
the appliance yourself. Repairs carried out by
unexperienced persons may cause injury or serious
malfunctioning. Refer to your local Service Centre.
Always insist on genuine spare parts.
Service and repairs must be carried out by an
authorized Service Centre.
If the appliance is out of order, disconnect it from
the electric supply.

CONTROL PANEL
GAS OVEN KNOB
Turn the gas oven knob (Fig. 1) on the required position
and keep it pushed in for about 5-10 seconds. This will
allow the safety device to switch off and the oven burner
to stay on. If the flame does not stay on, repeat the
operation keeping the oven knob pushed in for a longer
time. It is possible to check the flame through the holes
in the bottom of the oven.
The gas oven control knob must not be kept pushed in
for over 15 seconds. If the oven burner does not light
even after this time, release the knob, open the oven
door and wait for at least 1 minute before trying to light
the oven burner again.
When the oven is first installed, it may be necessary
to repeat this operation several times, because of
the air in the gas connection pipe.

SUGGESTIONS FOR OPERATING OF OVEN
For the cooking of cakes
Pre-heat the oven , unless indicated differently, for at
least 10 minutes before use. Do not open the oven
door when cooking dishes which must raise (e.g.
raised pastries and soufflés); the jet of cold air would
block the raising process. To check if cakes are
cooked, insert a toothpick into the mixture; if it comes
out clean the cake is ready. Wait until at least 3/4 of
the cooking time has passed before doing this check.
As a general rule remember that:
a dish which is well-cooked on the outside but not
sufficiently cooked inside would have required a lower
temperature and longer cooking time. On the contrary,
a “dry” texture would have required a shorter time and
higher cooking temperature.
For the cooking of meat
Meat to be cooked in the oven should weigh at least 1
kilo to avoid its becoming too dry. If you want roasts
with a good colour, use very little oil. If the piece is
lean, use oil or butter or a little of both. Butter or oil are
on the other hand unnecessary if the piece has a strip
of fat. If the piece has a strip of fat on one side only,
put it in the oven with this side upwards; when melting
the fat will grease the lower side sufficiently.
Red meat should be removed from the fridge one hour
before cooking otherwise the sudden change of tem-
perature could cause it to become tough. A roast,
especially if of red meat, must not be salted at the
beginning of cooking as salt causes juices and blood
to seep out of the òmeat, thus preventing the formation
of a well-browned crust.
It is advisable to salt the outside of the meat after just
over half the cooking time.
Place the roast in the oven in a dish having a low rim;
a deep dish shields heat.
Meat can be placed on an ovenproof dish or directly
on the grill, under which the dripping pan will be
inserted to collect juice. Ingredients for gravy should
only be put in the dish immediately if cooking time is
brief, otherwise they should be added during the last
half hour.
Begin cooking rare meat at a high temperature,
reducing the temperature to finish cooking the inside.
The cooking temperature for white meat can be mode-
rate throughout.
The degree of cooking can be checked by pressing the
meat with a fork; if it does not give the meat is cooked.
At the end of cooking it is advisable to wait at least 15
minutes before cutting the meat in order that the juices
are not lost.
Before serving plates can be kept warm in the oven at
minimum temperature.
For the cooking of fish:
Cook small fish from start to finish at a high tempera-
ture. Cook medium-sized fish initially at a high tempe-
rature and then gradually lower the temperature.
Cook large fish at a moderate temperature from start
to finish.
Check that baked fish is cooked by gently lifting one
side of the gut; the meat must be white and opaque
throughout, except in the case of salmon, trout or
similar.
Cooking times
Cooking times can vary according to the type of food,
its consistency and its volume. It is advisable to watch
when cooking for the first time and check results since
when preparing the same dishes, in the same
conditions, similar results are obtained.
The “TABLE OF COOKING TIMES” relating to cooking
in the oven and by grill is provided as a guide.
Experience will show possible variations to the values
set out in the table.
Nevertheless carefully follow the indications given
in the receipe you intend to follow.
Attention: do not place any utensils such as dripping
pan, cake tins, casseroles, pyrex dishes, aluminium foil
or other on the base of the oven when the oven is in
use. A stagnation of heat would result which would
compromise the results of cooking and could damage
the oven enamel.

Replacing the Oven Light
Ensure the electricity supply is switched off before
carrying out this operation.
The oven bulb has to comply to these features: resistant
to temperatures of 300
°
C; electric rate: 230 V - 50
Hz; electric power rate: 25 W; connection type: E 14.
To replace the bulb, proceed as follows (fig.6):
a) push in and turn the glass lid anticlockwise;
b) remove tha faulty bulb;
c) replace it with a new one;
d) refit the glass lid;
e) switch on the electricity supply.
Before cleaning, always allow the oven to cool down.
When using spray cleaning products, be careful not
to spread them on the heating elements or on the
thermostat sensor.
Never use harsh abrasives, steel wool or cleaners
with bleach, as they could damage the enamel and
the oven door glass.
The Oven Cavity
The enamelled oven cavity is best cleaned whilst the
oven is still warm. It is advisable to wipe the oven over
with a soft cloth soaked in warm soapy water after each
use. However, from time to time, it will be necessary to
do a more complete cleaning, using a proper oven
cleaner. In case of particularly tough stains, you can use
stainless steel cleaning products or some warm vinegar.
If cooking fruits, some over-heated natual acids can
squeeze and settle on the oven enamel, causing stains
quite difficult to remove. This could affect the enamel
brightness, but it will have no consequence on the oven
performances. To avoid these stains to be burnt out
during the next cooking, carefully clean the oven cavity
after all fruits cookings.
The Oven Door
Before cleaning the oven door, we recommend you to
remove it from the oven. Proceed as follows:
a) open the oven door completely and find the hinges
linking the door to the oven (fig 7);
b) unlock and turn the small levers located on the two
hinges (fig. 7), handle the door by its left- and right-
hand sides, then slowly turn it towards the oven until
it is half-closed;
c) gently pull the oven door off its site (fig. 7);
d) place it on a steady plan;
e) unscrew the two screws (Fig. 8 - “A”), pull up the
oven door glass and take it off the oven door;
f) clean the oven door glass with warm water and a
softh cloth only. Then refit the oven door, following
the procedure in reverse.
The Oven Door Gasket
The correct operation of the oven is ensured by a gasket
placed round the edge of the oven cavity.
Periodically check the condition of this gasket. If
necessary, clean it without using abrasive cleaning
products.
If the gasket shows to be damaged, call your
local Zanussi Service Centre. Do not use the oven until
it has been repaired.

ELECTRIC CONNECTION
The oven installation (electric connection, gas connection and building in) must be carried out by qualified
personnel only. The appliance must be disconnected from the electricity supply before any intervention.
Fig. 15
FO 0279
Before the appliance is connected:
1) check that the main fuse and the domestic installation
can support the load;
2) check that the power supply is properly earthed in
compliance with the current rules;
3) check the socket or the double pole switch used for
the electrical connection can be easily reached with
the appliance built in the forniture unit.
The appliance is supplied with a connection cable. This
has to be provided with a proper plug, able to support the
load marked on the identification plate. The plug has to
be fitted in a proper socket.
If connecting the appliance directly to the electric system,
it is necessary that you install a double pole switch
between the appliance and the electricity supply, with a
minimum gap of 3 mm. between the switch contacts and
of a type suitable for the required load in compliance
with the current rules.
The connection cable has to be placed in order that, in
each part, it cannot reach a temperature 50 °C higher
than the room temperature.
After the connection is carried out, test the heating
elements for about 3 minutes.
The brown phase wire (linked to the “L” terminal of the
terminal block) must always be connected to the phase
terminal of the electric supply.
TERMINAL BLOCK
The oven has an easily accessible terminal block,
which is meant to work with an electric single-phase
rate of 230 V.
(Fig. 15)
The manufacturer disclaims any
responsability should all the safety
measures not be carried out.

GAS CONNECTION
INSTALLATION ENVIRONMENT
Warning - This unit can be installed and can work only
in constantly ventilated rooms, according to rules in
force.
In order to make the gas unit work properly, it is
necessary that air sufficient to gas combustion can
naturally flow in the room. (The installer must follow the
rules in force).
The air flow into the room must come directly through
openings of external walls - See fig. 16.
These openings must have a free passage of at least
100 cm
2
(one or more openings can be made).
These openings (or opening) should be realized in
such a way not to be occluded both from inside and
outside and preferably positioned near the floor,
opposite the combustion products discharge. In case
these systems can't be realized in the room where the
unit is installed, the necessary air can come from a
room nearby, provided that this room is not a bedroom
or a dangerous environment and it is ventilated as
requested.

GAS CONNECTION
Gas connection must be carried out according to the
rules in force.
The manufacturing company release the unit, once
tested, adjusted for the kind of gas stated on the rating
plate located on the back of the range, next to
connection pipe. Be sure that you are going to connect
the unit to the same kind of gas written on the plate.
Otherwise, follow all the instructions of the paragraph
"REGULATION TO DIFFERENT KINDS OF GAS".
For best efficiency and lowest consumption, be sure
that manifold gas pressure respects the values in the
table of "Burners characteristics".
If gas pressure is different (or variable) from the proper
one, a suitable pressure regulator should be installed
on feeding pipe.
The use of pressure regulators for liquid gas (LPG) is
allowed provided they are modelled in conformity with
the rules in force
COMBUSTION PRODUCTS DISCHARGE
Gas cooking units must discharge combustion products
through hoods directly connected to flues or outside
(Fig. 17).
In case the hood can't be installed, it is recommended
the use of an electric fan applied to the external wall or
to the window of the room, provided the kitchen has the
proper openings for air inlet
(Fig. 18).
This electric fan must be powerful enough to ensure an
air replacement of 3 to 5 times the room's volume per
hour.
28
GAS CONNECTION
The gas supply connection ramp is positioned in the
front upper side of the oven, behind the control panel.
To carry out the gas connection, partially insert the oven
in the recess (about 30 cm.) and operate on the
connection ramp from the top. The gas connection can
be carried out in both the following systems:
1) Fig. 19 — flexible metallic pipes (with maximum
lenght up to 2 meters only) — screw the feeding
pipe to the 1/2“ connection ramp, inserting the
provided gasket between the pipe and the ramp;
2) Fig. 20 — rigid metallic pipe (soft copper Ø 8 mm)
— insert the copper pipe into the connection ramp
after fitting the provided nut and biconic ring onto
the copper pipe.
Carrying out the connection:
Fig.21 — tighten the nuts by means of a 22 mm.
spanner, in order to keep the ramp in position and
not to cause any stretch to the gas supply circuit.
CHECK THE PERFECT SEALING OF THE
CONNECTION USING SOAPY WATER;
Completely insert the oven in the recess and secure
it as indicated in the relevant chapter.
Check the gas suplly ramp and the gas connection
pipe are not squeezed while the oven is positioned
into the recess.
WARNINGS
Using a gas cooking appliance will produce heat
and moisture in the room which it has been
installed in. Ensure a continuous air supply,
keeping the air vents in good conditions or
installing a cooker hood with discharge tube.
In case of intensive or long time use of the
appliance, make the ventilation more efficient,
by opening a window or increasing the electric
exhaust fan power.

ADAPTATION TO DIFFERENT TIPES OF GAS
REPLACING THE OVEN BURNER
INJECTOR
To adapt the appliance to a different gas type from the
one which the appliance has been set for, it is necessary
to replace the oven injector whith the proper one (see
table 1). To carry out this operation, open the oven door
and act as follows:
remove the oven bottom “A” (Fig. 22), completely
discovering the oven burner “B”;
undo the fixing screws “C” (Fig. 23) which hold the
ignition device in place;
uno the fixing screw “D” which hold the oven burner
in place;
gently remove the oven burner (Fig. 24);
— with a 7 mm. socket spanner remove the injector
and replace it with the proper one (see tab.1).
Replace the gas supply label positioned near the gas
supply ramp, with the proper one, provided with the
injectors kit.

Table 1
The oven burner does not need any air regulation.
If gas pressure is different (or variable) from the proper
one, a suitable pressure regulator should be installed
on feeding pipe.
The use of pressure regulators for liquid gas (LPG) is
allowed provided they are modelled in conformity with
the rules in force.

ADJUSTING THE MINIMUM FLAME
IN THE OVEN BURNER
Disconnect the oven from the electricity supply.
Remove the three knobs.
Remove the discharge grid by unscrewing the fixing
screws (Fig. 23 - “A”).
Undo the two fixing screws under the control panel
and remove it (Fig. 23 - “B”).
With a thin screwdriver adjus the oven tap by-pass
pin (Fig. 24 - “C”).
Converting the oven from natural gas to LPG,
completely tighten the by-pass pin.
When reverting the oven to natural gas, first
completely tighten the by-pass pin, then unscrew it
of about 3/4 of a turn.
Refit the parts by following the procedure backwards.
Connect the oven to the electricity supply.
— Light the oven at the maximum positionand let it
warm up with the door closed for about 10 minutes,
then check that the oven burner does not go out
when quickly turning the oven knob from the
maximum position to the minimum position.
If the oven burner goes out, repeat the whole pro-
cedure.
