not designed. Consult this owners manual or reach out for recommended
accessories.
12. ENSURE enough air volume is at the suction point to capture all the
particulate generated.
13. NEVER make modications without prior approval from Oneida Air
Systems. Modifying the dust collector or using it dierently than intended
will void the warranty and may result in malfunction or mechanical failure
that leads to serious personal injury or death!
14. DO NOT locate or operate the system in moist, wet, poorly lit, or cluttered
environments. Operating in these areas can create shock hazards, increase
the risks of accidents and injury, and/or lower the operating lifespan of the
dust collector.
15. DO NOT install in classied hazardous atmospheres without an enclosure
rated for the application. System Location must account for wind, seismic
zone, and other load conditions. Codes may regulate acceptable locations
for installing dust collectors. Consult with the appropriate authorities having
jurisdiction to ensure compliance with all national and local codes regarding
dust collector installation. Equipment must be anchored in a manner
consistent with local code requirements. Anchors must be sucient to
support dead, live, seismic, and other anticipated loads. Consult a qualied
engineer for nal selection of anchorage.
16. ENSURE exhaust air is properly vented. It should NOT be vented into a wall,
a ceiling, or a concealed space of a building. Personal injury, death, and/or
property damage can result from material discharge during venting. e risk
of personal injury and/or property damage can be minimized or avoided
by locating vented equipment outside buildings and away from normally
occupied areas. If exhaust air is vented outside, you must provide make up
/ return air. Flue gases (carbon monoxide) can be drawn into the shop from
furnaces, water heaters, or other appliances
17. INSPECT and MAINTAIN REGULARLY. Keep the dust collector in proper
working order. A machine that isnt properly maintained, not working as
it should, has been dropped, damaged, le outdoors, or dropped in water
could malfunction leading to serious personal injury or death!
18. AVOID CORD DAMAGE. DO NOT pull or carry by cord. DO NOT use
cord as handle. DO NOT unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grab the
plug, DO NOT close door on cord or pull cord around sharp edges or
corners. DO NOT run dust collector over cord. DO NOT handle cord/plug
with wet hands. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
19. ALWAYS check for damaged parts. A part that is damaged should be
carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its

System Start-Up Information
1. THIS UNIT IS NOT RATED FOR USE IN COMBUSTIBLE
ENVIRONMENTS.
2. DO NOT operate the dust collector in areas where explosion risks are high.
Areas of high risk include, but are not limited to, areas near pilot lights, open
ames, or other ignition sources.
3. ONLY operate dust collector in locations that include a re suppression
system or have a re extinguisher available nearby.
a. e ABC type (dry chemical) is generally a good choice for small wood
shops.
b. Additional information on portable extinguishers can be found in
NFPA 10 (Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers).
4. DO NOT allow accumulation of layers of ne dust on horizontal surfaces.
Especially overhead lights, electrical boxes and fuse panels which can ignite
dust. Keep the oor around the system clean and free of scrap material, oil,
grease.
5. ENSURE all equipment and ductwork is electrically grounded.
6. ALWAYS consult an electrician or qualied service personnel about wiring
practices and electrical codes in your area. ONLY allow an electrician or
qualied service personnel to do electrical installation or repair work.

equipment. Improper wiring can cause re, electrocution, injury, or death.
8. DO NOT use to pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as
cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
9. DO NOT use to pick up liquids, ammable liquids, or combustible liquids,
such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
10. DO NOT use to pick up VOCs, acids, corrosives, or ammable fumes.
11. DO NOT use excessively large wood waste bins. Wood dust mixtures are
highly ammable and can be explosive
12. ALWAYS check your dust bin for smoldering materials before leaving the
shop.
13. NEVER introduce sparks or sources of ignition into the dust collector.
Sparks can be generated in several ways:
a. High speed sanders, abrasive planers, saws, and edgers may strike
foreign material and create a red-hot metal fragment.
b. Knots in hardwood can create frictional sparks.
c. Trapped metal, when drawn into the dust collection system, can spark
against ductwork.
d. Check wood stock for old nails and screws which can create red-hot
metal fragments.
14. DO NOT overload woodworking equipment, especially sanders, as
excessive frictional heat can spontaneously ignite dust. Sanders can produce
concentrations of dust well into the combustible range.
15. ALWAYS check that all dust collection equipment is properly selected and
sized for the intended use. Authorities with jurisdiction should be consulted
before installing to verify local codes and installation procedures. In the
absence of such codes, install collector according to the National Electric
Code, NFPA No. 70-latest edition and NFPA 91, NFPA664 Code (NFPA 654
if combustible dust is present).

Maintenance
Replacement Filters
# FCS000002, FCS141401
Proper lter cleaning should not be neglected as a dirty lter can
signicantly aect your BenchTop Mini's performance. ere are two
lters in the unit that need to be replaced or cleaned regularly. If you
notice that lters appear heavily soiled when you replace them, you
should consider changing them more frequently. Many factors can aect
how quickly lters get dirty.
Disassembly and Cleaning
1. WEAR A DUST MASK AND EYE PROTECTION.
2. Turn o and unplug the BenchTop Mini and wait for the Fan Assembly (B)
to come to a complete stop and for the dust to settle.
3. Remove the Pre-Filter (D) and Main Filter (C) by gently pulling the Pre-
Filter and Main Filter down and away from the Fan Assembly (A).
UNPLUG YOUR UNIT BEFORE SERVICING OR
CLEANING.

BenchTop Mini Maintenance (Continued)
4. Check to make sure both lters are in good condition with no torn media
or cracks or tears. For best performance, we highly recommend that you
replace the Main Filter when it becomes too clogged to allow for adequate
airow.
5. e Main Filter can be cleaned by placing it into a plastic bag and lightly
tapping the lter onto the oor. Dirt and debris will fall away from the lter
for disposal. Attempting to clean the lter with a vacuum or air compressor
may damage the lter media. e Main Filter is NOT washable.
6. Rinse the Pre-Filter with water. e airow of the Pre-Filter is bidirectional
and can be rinsed in either direction. Do NOT use a high pressure nozzle or
a power washer.
7. To speed up drying time, either air dry or blow excess water o the Pre-
Filter using a hand-held, compressed air nozzle with a pressure between 30
to 60 PSI.
8. Dry Pre-Filter prior to returning it to service. It is NOT recommended to
dry at temperatures above 225°F (107°C). e Pre-lter must be absolutely
dry before re-use. Allow at least 24 hours of drying time. Protect the Pre-
lter from dust during the drying process.

F.A.Q.
Can I use 3rd party replacement lters?
Yes, the BenchTop Mini uses a standard 14 x 14 x 1/2" MERV-12
lter that can be sourced from most hardware stores. Double check
the new lter's size before purchasing or installing. Please see the
Recommended Accessories section. Have spare lters on hand to
not skip a beat.
Is this item suitable for fume evacuation?
No, the BenchTop and the BenchTop Mini is designed for airborne
dust and particulate ltration. e Main Filter is not suitable for
VOCs, acids, corrosives, or ammable fumes.
Does it come with a remote?
No, it doesn't come with a remote. Please see the Recommended
Accessories section on page 13 for options.
Can I use it with an extension cord? Is there a maximum
length?
Yes, check the amperage rating on your cord to determine the
maximum length.
Can I use this system as an ambient air cleaner?
We do not recommend ambient cleaners because on their own
they are not eective at reducing airborne particulate to acceptable
levels; Dust collectors need to be very close to the source of the dust
emission to be eective.
