Important Safety Instructions
Please keep this instruction manual in a safe place, along with the purchase receipt
and carton for future reference. The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk
of fire, electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to.
The unit has no user-serviceable parts contained within. Do not attempt to repair,
disassemble or modify the appliance.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been supervised or given instruction
concerning the use of the appliance by the person who is responsible for
their safety.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
- Before turning on, ensure the electrical voltage and frequency of the circuit
correspond to those indicated on the appliance.
- The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons
without supervision.
- Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
- Do not operate the appliance outdoors.
- The power plug must be removed from the power socket before cleaning
,servicing, maintenance or moving the appliance.
- When the appliance is not in use, switch it off and unplug it.
- The appliance should be placed on a flat surface when operating to avoid
overturning.
- To reduce the risk of electrocution, never operate this product with wet
hands, submerge under water or spill liquids into the product.
- Do not insert any objects into the appliance.
- Do not kink or damage the power cord.
- Improper installation may result in the risk of fire, electric shock and/or injury
to persons.
- The manufacturer is not responsible for any eventual damages caused by
improper or faulty use.
- The unit has no user-serviceable parts contained within. Do not attempt to

- The Sandwich Maker is intended for household use only. Do not use this
appliance for anything other than its intended use.
- Do not put the cable on the appliance while it is still warm.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Only use the handles and knobs when the unit is
turned on.
- Be careful of the steam emitted from the extremely hot fillings when
biting sandwiches.

contains hot fillings.

WARNING: While the appliance is in operation it can get extremely hot and
should therefore be handled with care. Care should be taken in order to
prevent injuries such as getting burnt. Never put flammable objects on or
near the appliance, as they could set alight.

Using your Sandwich Maker
Before first use
1. Read all instructions carefully and keep them handy for future references.
2. Remove all packaging.
3. Wipe down the cooking plates with a damp cloth so that they are clean and free of
any manufacturing oils and residues that may have been left on the surface.
Using your Sandwich Maker
1. Place the Sandwich Maker on a flat, heat-proof surface, away from flammable
objects.
2. Plug the power plug into the wall socket. The ‘red’ power light will come on.
Preheat the cooking plates until the green light switches on, indicating that the
surface is hot enough to commence cooking. (N.B. Once pre-heated, the ‘green’
ready light will turn on and off as the thermostat regulates the temperature.)
3. Place the sandwich on the bottom cooking plate and place the top cooking plate
gently down. Secure the locking mechanism in order to press the sandwich into
mold.
4. The toasting time will depend on the type and thickness of bread and personal
taste. (Warning: All parts of the Sandwich Maker will be very hot during and after
toasting. Do not touch any parts until the Sandwich Maker has cooled down.
5. When toasting is complete, lift the top cooking plate via the handle. Remove the
sandwich via a plastic heat-proof spatula (not provided). Never use metal utensils,
as they can scratch the non-stick surface.
Handy Hints
- It is not necessary to use butter or margarine on the outside of the sandwiches.
However, a thin coating of butter or margarine on the outer surfaces of the bread
will speed up browning and enhance flavour.
- Most types of bread can be used in the Sandwich Maker. Breads with high sugar
content will brown more quickly.
- Do not use non-stick cooking sprays on the cooking plates.
- The sandwich filling will get extremely hot. Be careful when biting into sandwiches.

The appliance is not designed to be dismantled without special tools.
Please do not attempt to separate the unit.
1. Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the power supply and switched off
before attempting any cleaning. Allow the Sandwich Maker to cool.
2. Wipe the cooking plates with a soapy, damp cloth and wipe them dry afterwards.
For stubborn spots, cover with a small amount of cooking oil and leave on for
several minutes. Remove with a paper towel. (N.B. Do not use abrasives or metal
utensils).
3. Cleaning the exterior of the unit should only be attempted with a slightly damp,
soapy cloth. After wiping down the unit with the soapy cloth, dry any wet spots with
a dry cloth.
Caution: Never immerse the Sandwich Maker in water for cleaning.
Storage
1. Close the Sandwich Maker. Lift the locking clip and snap it, closed over the handle.
2. Stand the Sandwich Maker up so that the handle faces upwards.
3. Store in the upright position.
