!Beforeplacingyournewapplianceintooperationpleaseread
theseoperatinginstructionscarefully.Theycontainimportant
informationforsafeuse,forinstallationandforcareofthe
appliance.

Positioning and connection
Positioning
1. Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.
2. Donotobstructtherearfangrills.Thecompressorand
condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationto
operatecorrectlyandsaveenergy.
3. Leaveaspaceofatleast10cmbetweenthetoppartof
theapplianceandanyfurnitureaboveit,andatleast5cm
betweenthesidesandanyfurniture/sidewalls.
4. Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat
(directsunlight,electricstove,etc.).
5. Inordertomaintainthecorrectdistancebetweenthe
applianceandthewallbehindit,fitthespacerssuppliedin
theinstallationkit,followingtheinstructionsprovided.
Levelling
1. Installtheapplianceonalevelandrigidfloor.
2. Ifthefloorisnotperfectlyhorizontal,adjusttherefrigerator
bytighteningorlooseningthefrontfeet.
Electrical connections
Aftertheappliancehasbeentransported,carefullyplaceit
verticallyandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingittothe
electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectrical
socketensurethefollowing:
• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththe
law.
• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpowerofthe
appliance,whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocatedon
thebottomleftsideofthefridge(e.g.150W).
• Thevoltagemustbeintherangebetweenthevalues
indicatedonthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleftside
(e.g.220-240V).
• Thesocketiscompatiblewiththeplugoftheappliance.If
thesocketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorised
techniciantoreplaceit(seeAssistance).Donotuse
extensioncordsormultiplesockets.
!Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupply
cableandtheelectricalsocketmustbeeasilyaccessible.
!Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.
!Thecablemustbecheckedregularlyandreplacedby
authorisedtechniciansonly(seeAssistance).

Start-up and use
Starting the appliance
! Before starting the appliance, follow the installation
instructions (see Installation).
!Beforeconnectingtheappliance,cleanthecompartments
andaccessorieswellwithlukewarmwaterandbicarbonate.
1. Inserttheplugintothesocketandensurethatthered
ALARMandgreenPOWERindicatorlightsilluminate(the
TEMPERATUREADJUSTMENTknobmustnotbeon ).
2. Whentheredindicatorlightswitchesoff,turnthe
TEMPERATUREADJUSTMENTknobtoamediumposition.
Thefreezerisnowreadytobeused.
Using the freezer to its full potential
• UsetheTEMPERATURECONTROLknobtoadjustthe
temperature.
1=warmestMAX=coldest
Werecommend,however,amediumposition.
• Donotre-freezefoodthatisdefrostingorthathasalready
beendefrosted.Thesefoodsmustbecookedandeaten
(within24hours).
• Freshfoodthatneedstobefrozenmustnotcomeinto
contactwithfoodthathasalreadybeendefrosted.Fresh
foodmustbestoredinthetopFREEZERandSTORAGE
compartment.
• Donotplaceglassbottleswhichcontainliquids,andwhich
arecorkedorhermeticallysealedinthefreezerbecause
theycouldbreak.
• Themaximumquantityoffoodthatmaybefrozendailyis
indicatedontheplatecontainingthetechnicalproperties
locatedwithinthefreezer(forexample:Kg/24h:4).
• Placinglargeamountsoffreshfoodinthefreezermay
temporarilyincreasethetemperatureinsidetheappliance
(thisisindicatedwhentheWARNINGIndicatorlight
illuminates).Thissituation,asitisonlytemporary,doesnot
adverselyaffectthestorageconditionsoffoodthatisalready
frozen.
•Inordertoobtainagreateramountofspaceinthefreezer
compartment,youmayremovethebins(exceptthelowest
bin)andplacethefooddirectlyontotheevaporatorplates.
IfthetopdrawerisnotusedDONOTstorefoodbeyondthe
lineembossedintheinteriorofthefreezercabinetwall.This
indicatestheloadlimit.Foodbeyondthislinewilllimittheair
circulationandaffecttheperformanceofthefreezer.
!Donotopenthedoorduringfreezing.
!Ifthereisapowercutormalfunction,donotopenthefreezer
door.Thiswillhelpmaintainthetemperatureinsidethefreezer,
ensuringthatfoodsareconservedforatleast9-14hours.
!WarningIndicatorLight.Whenthisredwarninglightcomes
onforaprolongedperiodoftime,itmeansthatthefreezeris
notfunctioningproperlyandthetemperatureisrisingtoomuch.

Thiswarninglightmightcomeonforabriefperiodwhen:
a)thedoorisleftopenforanextendedperiodoftime(when
thefreezerisbeingloadedorunloaded).
Inthesetwocases,thefactthatthewarninglightcomeson
doesnotindicatethatthefreezerismalfunctioningorthereisa
defect.
