or damaged, it must be replaced by an original spare part by an authorised technical service.
- Do not use scouring pads, caustic cleaning products or oven cleaners to clean the appliance.
- Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric cooker or in a hot oven.
- This appliance is for domestic use only. Do not use in the open air or leave in damp areas.

KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS
THIS PRODUCT IS FOR DOMESTIC USE ONLY!
THE SANDWICH TOASTER MAY SMOKE A LITTLE WHEN IT IS USED FOR THE FIRST TIME. THIS IS NOT A FAULT.
THE NORMAL MANUFACTURING PROCESS INCLUDES THE USE OF OILS. THE SMOKING WILL STOP AFTER A
FEW MINUTES.
USING THE SANDWICH TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Open the sandwich toaster by moving the latch in the centre of the handle.
- Remove or clean any oil that may remain on the toasting plates.
- This operation is only necessary when using for the first time.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- Plug into the mains.
- Close the top of the sandwich toaster. To preheat, turn “ON” and wait for about 3 minutes.
- The correct operating temperature will have been reached when the red light extinguishes.
- During use, the operating light will turn on and off. This indicates that the thermostat is working correctly.
-
To obtain well-toasted sandwiches, we recommend lightly smearing the outer surface of the bread with butter, that is,
the filling will be placed between the sides without butter. If you decide not to do this, you may find that it is necessary
to grease the toasting plates with margarine, butter or oil after toasting a certain number of sandwiches.
- Place the sandwiches in the sandwich toaster and close the top gently but firmly until it clicks into position. Do not
force the top down.
-
Leave the sandwich to toast for about two minutes. The toasting time depends on individual preference. The sandwich
toaster will toast both sides of the sandwich at the same time and will seal in the filling. In most cases, the sandwich
will be cut in half by the separator or will need gentle pressing by a knife to separate the halves. Sandwiches with
“hard” fillings such as wholemeal bread or very thick sandwiches may need to be cut outside of the toaster.
- Although the plates are coated with a non-stick material, some fillings may melt, causing the sandwich to stick to
the plates. To release the sandwiches, use a plastic or wooden spatula.
- Never use a sharp object such as a knife as this may damage the non-stick coating.
WARNING: The plates may become very hot during use. Be very careful when using the sandwich toaster.

FOR BEST RESULTS
- Always preheat the sandwich toaster.
- Always smear the outer surface of the bread slices with butter.
- We recommend using Cheddar cheeses. Avoid using processed cheeses as these tend to melt too much at high
temperatures.
- A teaspoon of sugar sprinkled on the sides smeared with butter will make the bread more crunchy.
CLEANING AND STORAGE
Before cleaning:
Turn off.
Remove the plug from the mains socket and allow the sandwich toaster to cool.
Inside: Clean the plates and separators with a damp cloth.
Outside: Clean with a soft cloth that has been wrung almost dry after immersing in hot soapy water. Use another
soft cloth to dry.
Do not use metal or plastic scourers or abrasive pads on the sandwich toaster’s inside or outside surfaces.
The sandwich toaster will quickly become an indispensable appliance for the family. Please make sure that these
instructions are followed. When used properly, its quality design will provide years of problem-free use.
