PRINCESS TIPS

PRINCESS CLASSIC FONDUE / SILVER FONDUE DELUXE ART. 172666/1726667
BEFORE USING
Read these instructions thoroughly first and keep them for future reference. Check that your domestic
electricity supply matches that of the appliance. Plug this appliance only into an earthed outlet.
Remove any stickers and wash all parts before use (except the electric part) in warm soapy water and
rinse well.
Do not use any sharp objects in the pan, as they may damage it. Use the forks to prick the ingredients
only, avoiding the pan itself.
PARTS
- Heating base
- Fondue pan with 8 forks
* The two parts below apply to 172667 only
- Fondue ring
- Sauce ring with 6 sauce cups
HOW TO USE THE APPLIANCE
Make sure the base griddle is placed on a sturdy table or other stable surface. Do not place it on a (hot)
stove or hob.
For 172667 only, first, put the sauce ring with the cups on the heating base. Note: the sauce ring is only in
the correct position once it clicks onto the heating plate (this is done by pushing firmly).
Fill the pan with oil, cheese, stock or chocolate between the min and max marks.
Place the plug into the socket and set the thermostat button to the desired temperature. It will take a few
minutes to heat up. You can use this time to prepare the ingredients. As soon as the appliance has reached
the set temperature, the indicator light will go out.
NOTE:
While in use, the temperature light will go on and off: this shows that the thermostat is
working correctly and that the contents of the pan are being heated at the set temperature.
FONDUE CHOICES
Thanks to the adjustable temperature the fondue pan is highly suitable for various types of
fondue, such as the classic meat fondue, as well as cheese fondue, a chocolate fondue or a
Chinese fondue (with stock). Fill the pan with the desired ingredients and put it on the
heating base. Fill the pan with oil, cheese, stock or chocolate, but do not put too much in.
Set the thermostat at the desired temperature.
6
The red light will go on and off, as the thermostat regulates the temperature. For classic meat fondue set
the thermostat at the maximum temperature; cheese, stock and chocolate fondue require a somewhat
lower temperature. Set the temperature so that the mixture will not boil. Cheese and chocolate in particular
should be heated up slowly to prevent them from boiling over. Stir once in a while to obtain a smooth texture.
172667 The Silver Fondue Deluxe has a sauce ring with sauce cups, ideal for providing different sauces
while the fondue is being served.
The following types of oil are suitable for fondue: corn oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil, and deep-frying oil.
Check on the packaging to see whether or not the oil is suitable for fondue. This is important, as some
oils are not suitable and may spatter if used for fondue.
Remove the plug from the socket when the heating base is not in use.
CLEANING
FIRST REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE SOCKET AND ALLOW ALL THE PARTS TO COOL OFF
BEFORE CLEANING THEM. DO NOT MOVE THE APPLIANCE BEFORE IT HAS COOLED DOWN.
Apart from the heating base, all parts of the fondue pan can be cleaned in soapy water or in the dishwasher.
Do not use any abrasive cleaning products or scourers. Cleaning tip: Pour a cup of water and a drop of
dish washing liquid in the pan. Set the temperature at the lowest setting and leave it for about ten minutes.
Then switch it off and rinse well. The heating element base must be kept dry. Clean it with a damp cloth,
as necessary.
PRINCESS TIPS
- Never immerse the base in water or any other liquid.
- Always unplug the appliance before cleaning or if any fault develops. Take the plug out of the socket
whenever the appliance is not in use.
- The heating base and the various parts will get very hot. Keep out of reach of children and take care
yourself. Only pick up the parts using the handle.
- Do not place the appliance to close to the edge of the table, or work surface as people may trip over it;
do not leave the cord dangling in case people or objects become entangled.
- In case of damage to the appliance or its cord, we advise you to not use the device, but to return it to
the store for repair. Damaged cords can only be replaced by our service department.
- Do not place the appliance on or directly adjacent to a warm hotplate or other source of heat.
- This appliance is intended for normal household use.
- Do not move the appliance while it or the contents are still hot.
- Always place the fondue pan on a stable and flat surface.
- Do not use this set outdoors.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- The use of this appliance by children or persons with a physical, sensory, mental or motorial disability,
or lack of experience and knowledge can give cause to hazards. Persons responsible for their safety
should give explicit instructions or supervise the use of the appliance.
