4. Important safety advice
Installation and initial operation of this control unit may only be carried out
by qualified and specially trained personnel. These persons have been sufficiently
instructed or supervised by electricians and are therefore able to recognize
the special hazards involved when working with electricity. Moreover,
they are required to have the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of the relevant electro-technical regulations,
- Training in the use and maintenance of adequate safety equipment.
Caution!
Before carrying out any cabling work, it is essential to disconnect
the control unit from the mains supply and to observe the waiting
time period of 90 sec. for safety.
Only after this time the operator is without voltage!
Observe local safety regulations!
Always lay mains cables and control cables separately!
Control voltage 24 V DC.
Caution!
Before initial operation of the control unit it is essential to ensure
that there are no persons or objects within the gate's area
of operation, since a number of settings set the gate in motion!
All existing emergency command devices have to be tested before initial
operation.
Advice:
Before initial operation the gate system operating personnel
or their proxies must be
familiarised with the use of the system!

Caution!
Non-complying with this warning can lead to personal injuries
and material damages.
Do not insert any cables into the top side of the control unit.
For technical reasons, the first time after switching on the control unit,
the gate can only open fully (after button actuation).
Caution!
Attention when installing according to protection category IP 65:
At the very latest following initial operation the cable with plug
allowing connection to the mains must be replaced by a fixed
direct mains connection! At the same time a mains isolator switch
must be fitted!

This static current circuit is led over the sockets X10, X30 and
X31.
If no accessories are connected to these sockets, a short-circuit
plug has to be inserted.

Half open the gate by hand.
Switch ON at the mains.
- the VOLTAGE control light must light up.
-> if not, look up test instructions, point 'no voltage'
Press the OPEN button.
- The gate should open.
-> if the gate does not move: see test instructions, point
'no reaction on impulse'
5.2 Initial operation
Please take care that the mains voltage corresponds to the one indicated
on the type plate of the control unit and that your protection category
corresponds to local regulations.
When fixing the control unit directly to mains, a mains isolator switch
is necessary.
Functional check
Mains connection and operator cabling:
Attention!
With the following settings it is important to ensure that the gate
is never allowed to open or close fully. Halt the gate at least
50 cm before it reaches its mechanical travel limits by pressing
the STOP button.

Safety circuit:
Actuate each safety element separately
- Power operation of the operator should now no longer be possible
to the respective travel direction with press-and-hold.
-> if this is not the case, check the electric connection of the safety element.
Switch OFF at the mains.
5.3 Setting the reference point
Advice:
The control unit can only be programmed with valid reference
point. For this travel the door once electrically to the OPEN and
CLOSE position.

5.3.1 Sectional door Dynamic 3-113 - 3-118 FU
Travel the door by hand to the mechanical end position DOOR OPEN.
Open the cover of the housing at the door operator.
Loosen the lock (grub screw J) of the switch cam (B).
Set the switch cam (B) so that the reference point switch (G), as shown in fig.
7 (setting H), is actuated (approx. 2 mm away from the switch point).
Fix the switch cam (B) by screwing on the grub screw (J).
Then mount the cover of the housing again.
Connect the system again to the mains and push the button DOOR CLOSE
(12).
Now the door travels to the end position DOOR CLOSED as set from factory.

6.1 General functional scheme
The travel speed of the gate can be set separately and variably in OPEN and
CLOSE direction due to the frequency control. The approaches for acceleration
and deceleration ensure a soft start and soft stop at the travel limits and
thus protect the mechanical construction of the gate.
The frequency of the transformer influences the speed of the operator.
The following sketches (Fig. 8 + 9) show the travel diagrams in OPEN
and CLOSE direction.

In OPEN direction the frequency transformer accelerates from its basic frequency
in time tb to its travel frequency. When reaching the programmed soft run mark
OPEN (programming in level 2 / menu 2), the soft stop is activated. In time tv
open it decelerates the speed to basic frequency. With this speed it travels
to the end position OPEN.

In CLOSE direction it accelerates from its basic frequency in time tb to its travel
frequency. When reaching the programmed soft run mark CLOSE (programming
in level 2 / menu 4) the soft stop is activated, that decelerates the operator in
time tv to basic frequency. With this speed it travels to the end position CLOSE.

The following table shows examples how to set the HEX switches for different
door fittings, not depending on manufacturer. A difference is made with regard
to the kind of fitting, the shape and the diameter
of the cable drums.

Instruction:
Determine measurement d as shown in fig. 11 for the different types of cable
drums. For this the door has to be closed. Measurement d corresponds to the
diameter of the cable drum on the first free winding seen from the wound-up
cable. This measurement is decisive for the setting of the closing speed and
thus a base to keep the closing forces, which are defined in the European
standards for power-operated doors.
Determine the setting of the HEX switches from the following table on the
base of measurement d, the kind of fitting and the shape of the cable drum.
Make sure that the operator is without voltage.
Open the housing cover on the operator.
Set the HEX switches on the frequency transformer circuit board to the
currently determined positions (see fig. 10).
After the power has been switched on, the operator travels in the speed that
is required for the special fitting.

Advice / Tip!
- Fire brigade speed means, that the operator travels to
the open direction with a speed, that corresponds to the
standards of fire brigade doors.
- High-speed travel is the speed that corresponds to the maximum
speed of the operator. This speed should only be set, if the door is
suitable for the high-speed travel
(possibly tandem rollers are necessary).
In case the settings of the HEX switches do not lead to a satisfactory door travel,
you can set the travel frequencies without limitations with an external programming
device under the HEX switch setting 0/0. For this
the operator has to be disconnected from power supply, before you set the HEX
switches to 0/0.
Please observe the European standards for power-operated doors.
Advice / Tip!
- When you change the HEX switch settings, please take care by
all means, that the operator is without voltage (no glowing red
LED on the FT circuit board), because otherwise the changed
parameters are not taken over.
- We recommend documenting the values of the set HEX switches
in the inspection records..
