BTM - Battery Temperature Monitor
Includes a Battery Temperature Monitor with Shunt Trip DC breaker(s) (1 breaker per battery string). The BTM monitors
the batteries for over-temperature or thermal runaway conditions and trips the battery string DC breaker if over-tem-
perature/thermal runaway conditions exist. Includes a Form C Dry Contact to connect to a Fire Alarm Panel for remote
alarm signaling. Additionally, an external Exhaust Fan Monitoring System will observe a “state of health dry contact
input that is part of the external exhaust fan. If the exhaust fan is in an alarm condition and the normally-open contact is
closed, then a signal is sent to the IIS Emergency Inverter to stop charging the batteries.
Requires factory startup (see FSREG#, FSCAN, FSMEX) to be ordered. This option is required in California when the
IIS Inverter System has more than 50 gallons of electrolytes or more (applies to 16.7VA through 50000VA single and three
phase models).
Available on IIS Single Phase, IIS3P, and IISCN3P models.
BYPASS - Internal Maintenance Bypass (Make Before Break)
Includes a Maintenance Bypass Switch that is mounted inside the
IIS Inverter System. This device allows maintenance personnel to
route power from the AC utility directly to the output circuit
breakers, bypassing the inverter electronics. The switch isolates
the system to perform routine maintenance or servicing while
allowing the lighting load to remain in normal operation.
The “make before break” switch shorts the direct electrical
connection from the AC utility to the output circuit breakers
immediately before power is disconnected inside the inverter.
Requires output circuit breakers. If output circuit breakers
are not desired, an External Maintenance Bypass may be
available (see EXTPASS).
Available on IIS Single Phase and IISC models. This feature is standard
with IIS3P and IISCN3P models.
BYPASSBBM - Internal Maintenance Bypass (Break Before Make)
Includes a Maintenance Bypass Switch that is mounted inside the IIS Inverter System. This device allows maintenance
personnel to route power from the AC utility directly to the output circuit breakers, bypassing the inverter electronics.
The switch isolates the system to perform routine maintenance or servicing while allowing the lighting load to remain in
normal operation. The “break before make” switch disconnects the power inside the inverter immediately before it makes
the direct electrical connection from the AC utility to the output circuit breakers. Requires output circuit breakers. If
output circuit breakers are not desired, an External Maintenance Bypass may be available (see EXTPASS).
Available on IIS Single Phase, IISC, IIS3P, and IISCN3P models.
DR - Dimming Relay
Allows a 0-10V dimming signal to reach interfacing emergency luminaires during normal power conditions and will inter-
rupt the 0-10V dimming signal if a power loss is detected. This will cause the emergency luminaires to operate at full light
output in power loss conditions regardless of the position of a 0-10V dimming control. Note: the usefulness of on-board
dimming relays is limited in large applications with multiple circuit breakers since this only allows for a single dimming
control to be employed for each output circuit. Consider using an ALCR device such as the IOTA ETS DR in
these scenarios.
Available on IIS 1100 and IISCN models.

DRIP - NEMA 2 Drip Top
Provides a NEMA 2 drip top shield to protect the electronics and batteries from falling or splashing water. Typically one
NEMA 2 Drip Top is required per electronics and battery cabinet. Note: this option is NOT intended for use outdoors and
will NOT allow indoor rated inverters to be suitable for outdoor applications.
Available on IIS 1100, IIS Single Phase, IISC, IISM, IIS3P, IISCN and IISCN3P models.
EMD - Enhanced Metering and Programming Display
Outts IISCN models with a meter panel and keypad display that
enables additional metering and programming functions. This option
allows users to view data on system and alarm status as well as the
results of automatic life safety tests. The EMD option also allows users
to program the date, time, and duration of automatic monthly and annual
tests as well as congure set-points for summary alarm contacts.
Available on IISCN models.
EO - Emergency Override
Requires a 120 or 277 VAC feed from the control switch. Provides the ability to enable emergency output for typically
unoccupied venues (such as a stadium) only when emergency egress is required. The IIS Inverter is equipped with an
Enable On/O circuit at the feed panel, separate from the inverter supply feed. When the Enable On/O circuit is OFF, the
IIS Inverter will continue to charge the batteries, but will not energize the emergency load. The emergency output may
be re-enabled by switching the Enable On/O circuit to ON. This option is useful in situations (such as stadiums) where
the building isn’t always occupied and emergency egress lighting isn’t always required. Note: this option may not be
acceptable in certain jurisdictions. Consult local and national codes before ordering.
Available on IIS EXT 1750 models.
EXTPASS - External Maintenance Bypass (Make Before Break)
Equips the Emergency Inverter with a maintenance bypass switch mounted exterior to the unit in a NEMA 1 enclosure
with a hinged door measuring 20” high x 16” wide x 9” deep. This device allows maintenance personnel to route power
from the AC utility directly to the lighting load, bypassing the inverter electronics. The switch isolates the system to per-
form routine maintenance or servicing while allowing the lighting load to remain in normal operation. The “make before
break” switch shorts the direct electrical connection from the AC utility to the lighting load immediately before power
is disconnected inside the inverter. This option cannot be used in conjunction with more than one output circuit
breaker and, if a single output circuit breaker is used, it must be sized for the total system current.
Available on IIS Single Phase, IIS EXT (excluding 1750), IISC, IIS3P, IIS3P EXT, and IISCN3P models.
FASTCHG - Fast Charge, Battery Charger Upgrade
Upgrades the battery charger on the IIS Inverter System to decrease the time it takes to recharge a fully discharged bat-
tery bank to full capacity from the standard 24-hour period to a 12-hour period.
Available on IIS 1100, IIS Single Phase, IIS EXT (excluding 1750), IIS3P, IIS3P EXT, IISCN, and IISCN3P models.

tem to ensure that it is ready for emergency operation. This option is useful in situations where the total emergency light-
ing load isn’t present at time of Inverter Startup, but a full-load test is desired. Available in the continental U.S. only.
Requires factory startup (see FSREG#) to be ordered.
Available on IIS 1100, IIS Single Phase, IIS EXT, IISC, IISM, IIS3P, and IIS3P EXT models.
LCR - Load Control Relay
Equips the IIS Inverter with a relay used to bypass an ON/OFF control (such as a wall switch or occupancy sensor). Note:
the usefulness of the on-board load control relay is limited in large applications with multiple circuit breakers since this
only allows for a single ON/OFF control to be employed for each output circuit. Consider using an ALCR device such as
the IOTA ETS DR in these scenarios. Requires at least one output circuit breaker.
Available on IIS Single Phase, IISC, and IIS3P models.
LFILTER - TVSS Line Filter
Protects the emergency inverter against short duration, excessive voltage spikes (such as lightening strikes) on the utility

NOFF - Full Normally-O Output
This option is desirable when connected emergency equipment should only operate during power loss conditions.
During normal operation while the IIS Inverter System is connected to utility power, the normally-o load circuit will
remain inactive. Should a power loss be detected by the IIS Inverter System, the normally-o load circuit will engage
and the emergency equipment will be powered via the IIS Inverters internal batteries. A 1-pole output circuit breaker is
provided for connecting to the normally-o emergency load or to normally-o distribution breakers.
Available on IISM models.
OBSHUNT - Main Output Breaker with Shunt Trip
Outts the IIS Inverter System with a main output circuit breaker that includes a shunt trip that can be used to trip the

OTDELAY - Output Transfer Delay to Emergency
This option causes the IIS Inverter System to delay the transfer from normal operation (AC utility power) to emergency
operation (battery power) and vice versa. When power is lost, the IIS Inverter System will take 3 seconds (factory default)
to apply battery-supplied power to the emergency circuit. This is useful in some xture applications where sensing
controls need to detect the loss in utility power to default to full light output in emergency mode. The transfer delay is
factory set at 3 seconds but may be eld adjusted by an IIS Inverter Technician to 1-8 seconds.
Available on IIS Single Phase, IISC, IIS3P, and IISCN3P models.
PM(A or B)REG(#) - Five-Year Preventative Maintenance Plan
Ensure your IIS Inverter System operates at peak performance through its operating lifespan with regular preventative
maintenance performed by a qualied IIS Inverter Technician. IOTA’s network of factory serviced technicians and factory

ST - Standard Transfer
Single Phase ST (Standard Transfer) models will transfer to battery power (emergency mode) when AC utility power is in-
terrupted for more than one line cycle (50ms). This allows IIS Single Phase FT models to be compatible with most lighting
types including LED, Fluorescent, Incandescent, and Quartz lamps. IIS Single Phase ST models are
considered “interruptible.
Available on IIS Single Phase models.
STAINLESS - Stainless Steel Enclosure
Outts IIS EXT Outdoor Inverter Systems with a stainless steel enclosure to protect against corrosion from exposure to
salt water or environments where corrosive gas or moisture is present.
Available on IIS EXT (excluding 1750) and IIS3P EXT models.
STRAP - Battery Strapping
Provides battery strapping to secure the batteries in the enclosure.
Available on IIS 1100, IISC, and IISCN models.
STRAPW - Battery Strapping and Wall Mount Bracket
Includes options STRAP and WALL. Provides a wall mount bracket to mount the IIS Inverter to the wall and battery
strapping to secure the batteries in the enclosure.
Available on IISC models.
SZ - Seismic Rating with Shaker Table Testing for OSHPD
IIS SZ and IIS3P SZ models are designed and built to meet Seismic Zone 4
(the highest seismic zone rating) conditions and undergo thorough
withstand testing to meet OSHPD certication requirements. These
models undergo shaker table withstand testing to an SDS level of 2.5g
in accordance with ICC-ES-AC-156 procedures. If OSHPD certication is
not needed, many IIS models oer Seismic Zone Mounting (see SZM option)
for increased durability and safety in seismic zone installations.
Available on IIS Single Phase and IIS3P Models.
SZM - Seismic Zone Mounting
Provides an additional base and battery strapping (on certain models) for seismic mounting to the oor. Note: this
option does not include shaker testing to meet OSHPD/ICC requirements. IIS SZ or IIS3P SZ models must be pur-
chased for seismic applications where shaker testing is required.
Available on IIS Single Phase, IISC, IISM, IIS3P and IISCN3P models.

TREG(#), TCAN, TMEX - Extended On-Site Training
Empower facility sta to condently maintain the IIS Central Inverter System with Extended On Site Training. An addi-
tion to the IIS Factory Startup program, Extended On Site Training is conducted at the job site by a qualied IIS Inverter
technician for the benet of any on-site personnel. The training features a deep dive into the system operation, safety
procedures, and maintenance of the IIS Central Inverter. The agenda may be customized at the time of service by the
IIS Inverter technician to accommodate the needs of the attendees. See iotaengineering.com for more details on what
Extended On Site Training entails. Requires factory startup (see FSREG#, FSCAN, FSMEX) to be ordered.

ZM(#) - Zone Monitoring
Allows the IIS Inverter System to monitor the presence of AC power in a specic zone (ex: area circuit or distribution
panel). Upon loss of normal power in the zone(s), the inverter will switch to emergency mode and power any connected
emergency equipment via its internal battery. Any normally-o loads will turn on and normally-on loads will remain on.
Once AC power is restored to the zone(s), the inverter will return to normal mode. Any normally-o loads will turn o and
normally-on loads will continue operating via AC utility power.
Available on IIS Single Phase, IIS EXT (excluding 1750), IISC, IIS3P, IIS3P EXT, and IISCN3P models.
