2.0 Known Issues in this Release
4331 - COS EMS GUI does not work with Java Plug-in 1.4.1_x.
Problem: This is a known issue with the particular Java Plug-in
version. You may encounter an error "access denied
(java.util.PropertyPermission entity ExpansionLimit Read)" when
using 1.4.1_x
Workaround: Please upgrade your Browser Java Plug-in to 1.4.2_x.
3.0 Upgrading the COS Software Using the COS Software Patch
If you are upgrading your COS system from a previously configured COS
release, you do not need to use the full system software. Instead, you can use
the COS upgrade patch.
NOTE: cos-upgradepack-ocode-A*-2.1.0-3-2.3.2-1.shar.gz is the upgrade pack
that enables you to upgrade from 2.1.x to this release.
To upgrade the COS software using the COS software patch, complete
the following:
1. Login to your COS system console port as root.
2. Change to the root directory, using the following command:
cd /root
3. Create a directory, using the following command:
mkdir cos-upgradepack-x.x.x-x
Where x.x.x.-x, is the current software version. For this release the x
sequence is 2.3.2-1.
4. FTP or copy the file called cos-upgradepack-ocode-AZZZ-Y.Y.Y-Y-X.X.X-
X.shar.gz from your COS System Software CDROM or software
package to the /root/cos-upgradepack-x.x.x-x directory.
5. Change the directory to cos-upgradepack-x.x.x-x, using the following
command:
cd cos-upgradepack-X.X.X-X
6. Enter the following command at the root prompt:
gzip -d cos-upgradepack-ocode-AZZZ-Y.Y.Y-Y-X.X.X-
X.shar.gz
chmod 700 cos-upgradepack-ocode-AZZZ-Y.Y.Y-Y-X.X.X-
X.shar
7. Once the above command completes, enter the following command at
the root prompt:
./cos-upgradepack-ocode-AZZZ-Y.Y.Y-Y-X.X.X-X.shar
8. Answer Y when prompted.

software is upgraded.

upgraded properly.
