ProVFM Viewfinder Mount Kit
For Sony PMW-F3 Camera
Introduction
e ProVFM Viewfinder Mount Kit for the
Sony PMW-F3 camera is designed for use with
Panasonic or Sony 1920x1080 HD viewfinders.
e mount retains the viewfinder’s side-to-side
adjustability and adds front-back adjustability for
maximum comfort.

Mounting
Attach the base of the viewfi nder mount to the
le (operator) side of the Berkey plate using
the right angle hex wrench supplied.
e viewfi nder mount may be attached to
the Berkey plate in several diff erent positions.
Note:ﬔ eviewndermountmaybe
placedfartherbackontheBerkeyplate
forastudioconguration.
Slide the top half of the mount
into the dovetail of the base, and
use the thumb screw to hold the
mount in the desired front-back
position. Slide your Sony or
Panasonic viewfi nder onto the
front plate and tighten the
thumb nut to secure it in place.
Adjust the viewfi nder le and
right as necessary.
Attach the signal box to the right
side of the Berkey plate using the
supplied screws and wrench.
If the viewfi nder mount is
attached farther back on the
Berkey plate, then the signal box
may also be attached farther back
as appropriate.
Connect the cable from the
viewfi nder to the front of the signal
box, labeled SO VF or PN VF.

Black-and-White Viewfi nders
When using a black-and-white viewfi nder, connect
the Lemo-8 side of the supplied “Y” cable
(AB-PROVFM-F3191) to the input on the back of the
signal box. Connect the BNC end to the camera’s
Video Output and the P-Tap end to the battery
mount’s P-Tap socket.

Color Viewfi nders
When using a color viewfi nder, connect the Lemo-8
side of the supplied cable (AB-PROVFM-F3190)
to the input on the back of the signal box. Connect
the BNCs labeled Y, Pb and Pr to Y, B-Y, and R-Y on
the Blackmagic Design SDI to Analog converter
(or equivalent converter). Plug the P-Tap end of the
cable to the battery mount’s P-Tap socket.
Use an SDI (BNC to BNC) cable to feed SDI out from
the camera to SDI in.

AbelCine warrants the ProVFM Viewfinder Mount Kit
to be free of defects in materials and workmanship
for a period of one year from the date of purchase.
AbelCine will pay shipping via UPS Ground within
the United States to return the unit aer repairs.

misuse, abuse or neglect.
Failure to follow the supplied instructions
Repair or attempted repair by a third party
Adjustment, disassembly or modification
of the unit
