Before proceeding, discharge any static electricity from your body by touching a bare screw from the
instrument. Turn off the instrument and disconnect the AC power cord.

Using a Phillips Head Screw Driver, remove the nine screws from underneath the drive plate and
the one screw located on the top rear of the cover.

Step 4
Locate the three screws on the underside of the drive plate that secure the drive pulley
assembly as shown. Using a hex key (9/64” hex key), remove the 3 hex head screws and drive
pulley assembly from the instrument.
Step 4
An old style drive pulley assembly (2800-0253) can be identified by the three
screws required to fasten the assembly on the drive plate.
Step 5
Loosen the set screws (1/16" hex key) of the bottom pulley as shown.

Lift the top pulley (with the spindle sleeve) and remove it from the c-shaped bracket as shown.

Use the two front slots to mount the c-shaped bracket tight enough on the drive plate that it is
secure but can still be moved for final adjustment.

Position the bottom pulley in the c-shaped bracket with the motor drive belt as shown.

Be sure that the drive belt on the motor side still goes around the pulley. Reposition the drive
belt if necessary.

Insert the top pulley with sleeve into the c-shaped bracket and into the bottom pulley as shown.

Once the spindle sleeve is reinserted, check that the drive belt goes around each pulley as
shown.

Position the bottom pulley so that it lines up with motor pulley and the drive belt is horizontally
level between pulleys. Secure the pulley in place by tightening the two set screws.

Reinstall the spindle drive belt (long belt).
