The product is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and parts for a period
of 12 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur within this warranty period, under
normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion. The benets

that the consumer has under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and similar state and
territory laws.

Read this manual thoroughly before rst use and keep it in a safe place
for future reference, along with the warranty card, purchase receipt
and carton. The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk
of re, electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to. Follow all
instructions and take notice of all warnings to reduce the risk of re or
electric shock.
Do not remove the cover or the back of this product. There are
no user-serviceable parts inside this product.
Do not repair the unit yourself. Only have it serviced by
qualified personnel. Supervise young children to ensure they
do not play with the product.
Do not submerge the product in liquids.
Do not place the product near other items that may damage
it, such as naked flame sources (lit candles) or excessive heat
(bar radiator).
Do not place near strong magnets or strong electric currents.
Do not expose to chemicals, oils, or other liquids.
Do not drop or jar the product. Dropping or rough use of the
unit will cause damage.
Do not attempt to open the product housing. There are no
user-serviceable parts inside this product.
The socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and
shall be easily accessible.
WARNING: Using headphones while operating a motorcycle, motor
vehicle, watercraft or bicycle can be dangerous. Use caution while
using your Motorcycle Bluetooth® kit when you are engaging in any
activity that requires your full attention.
This product has been tested according to EN55032:2015 and AS/NZS

5. SETUP
5.1 Fitting the Bluetooth® Receiver to
Your Helmet
1. Using the provided screw driver, loosen
the Headset Clip screws.
2. Slide the Headset Clip onto the left side of
the helmet (when on your head). Take care
to place the inside of the Headset Clip under
the helmet padding.
3. Adjust the clip until you nd the best location for
your helmet. Ensure that the slots in the Headset
Clip mount are facing away from the helmet.
4. Tighten the screws to hold the clip rmly in place.
WARNING: Take care not to overtighten as this
could cause the clip to break. In the event of a
broken clip, spares can be purchased from
www.cocoonproducts.com.au
5. Slide the Bluetooth® receiver down into the slots
on the Headset Clip mount. Make sure that it is
locked in securely.
6. To attach the ear speaker & microphone headset,
test which part of the helmet will be the best
location by putting your helmet on and locating
the place closest to your ears. You will need to put
the helmet on a few times to nd the optimum
position to apply the pad. When the correct
position is found, remove the adhesive protective
strip and apply to the felted earphone pad.

The Bluetooth® function will keep you connected to your mobile phone,
so you can play music and connect with Bluetooth® GPS systems.
NOTE: Not all Bluetooth enabled devices will be compatible with
the Motorcycle Bluetooth. Reference the technical specications of
both devices to check compatibility.
The intercom means you can communicate with your pillion or other
riders within 500m while you ride. With simple set up and clear sound
quality you will always be in touch.

7. Attach ear speaker to the felted pad. Run
the microphone arm along the inside wall
of the helmet, to where your mouth will be.
The microphone arm is exible and should
be adjusted so it sits in the best position
in front of your mouth. Some helmets
have removable padding; if yours does, it
is recommended to run the speaker and
microphone under the padding.
8. Connect the headset to the Bluetooth®
receiver. The plug can only be inserted in
one orientation.
WARNING: Inserting the plug backwards will
cause damage to the Bluetooth® Receiver.
Use caution when assembling.
9. Secure the cord of the headset plug inside
the helmet. Tuck any extra wire into the
helmet. Ensure that only a few centimetres
of the cord comes out.
You have successfully mounted the Motorcycle
Bluetooth Kit.
5.2 Charging the Bluetooth® Receiver
Before using this device, fully charge the Bluetooth® receiver. This will
take approximately 4 hours.
1. Insert USB charging cable into the charging port on the headset.
Insert the other end of the charging cable into the power adaptor or
your computer’s USB port.
2. While charging, the red LED on the Bluetooth® receiver will
illuminate, when the charging is nished, the red LED will switch o.
NOTE:
1. To maintain long life from the internal lithium battery, charge
your device at least once a month.
2. The power adaptor is for indoor use only, do not use the
adaptor outdoors.
5.3 Powering ON and OFF
1. To turn the device ON, press the power/intercom button for 3
seconds until you hear a beep. A blue light will ash quickly 3 times
and then continue short ashes at regular intervals.
2. To turn the device OFF, press the power/intercom button for 5
seconds until you hear a beep. The Bluetooth® receiver and LED
lights will turn o.
6. OPERATION WITH A MOBILE PHONE
6.1 Pairing to Your Bluetooth® Enabled Mobile Phone
1. Place your Bluetooth® enabled phone and the Bluetooth® receiver
near each other. Within 1m is recommended.
2. Make sure the Bluetooth® receiver is turned OFF.
3. Press and hold down the power/intercom button for approximately
8 seconds until the receiver beeps twice. The red and blue LEDs
will ash alternately. The receiver is now actively searching for
Bluetooth® devices.

4. Activate Bluetooth® on your mobile phone and search for the
device. Refer to your phones instructions if you are unclear on how
to search for Bluetooth® devices.
5. Choose the Bluetooth® device named FDC-01VB and choose to pair
this device. If you are asked for a password, enter 0000.
6. The red and blue LEDs will then change to display blue only and the
headset will beep once to conrm pairing was successful.
6.2 Managing Phone Calls
To Answer an Incoming Mobile Phone Call
1. Press the multi-function button on the receiver while the phone is
ringing.
2. Use the jog wheel to increase or decrease the headset volume.
Tip: The incoming call will answer automatically once the phone has
rung for 8 seconds.
Ending a Mobile Phone Call
1. Press the multi-function button to end the call.
Rejecting a Mobile Phone Call
1. When you hear the phone ringing, immediately press and hold the
multi-function button on the headset until you hear a beep.
Redial the Last Number
1. Press and hold the multi-function button for 2 seconds or until it
beeps, it will then dial your last number called.
7. OPERATION VIA INTERCOM
7.1 Pairing One Motorcycle Bluetooth® to Another
Motorcycle Bluetooth® to Use as an Intercom
1. Place both receivers near each other (within 1m).
2. Make sure both receivers are turned OFF.
3. Press and hold down the power/intercom button on both units at
the same time for approximately 8 seconds, until the receivers beep
twice. The red and blue lights will ash alternately.
4. Quickly press the power/intercom button on one of the receivers
(We will call this receiver A’). This will now search for the other
receiver (i.e. receiver ‘B’) so they can be paired.
5. When they have successfully paired, the red and blue lights will then
change to blue only (ashing) and the receiver will beep once.
To Start a Conversation via Intercom
1. Once the two headsets are paired with each other, press the
power/ intercom button on either receiver to begin.
2. Use the jog wheel to increase or decrease the headset volume.
Tip: You only need to press the power/intercom button once to
establish a connection; conversation between the two paired
headsets can now be carried out handsfree.
To End a Conversation via Intercom
1. Press the power/intercom button on either of the receivers.
Tip: If the intercom headset is also paired with a mobile phone, the
intercom conversation will be automatically disconnected to answer
the phone when there is an incoming call. The intercom function
will resume once the call has ended.

7.2 Pairing Multiple Motorcycle Bluetooth Devices via
Intercom
You are able to switch your Motorcycle Bluetooth intercom chat
between two other devices. However please be aware that simultaneous
three way intercom chat is not possible. You must switch between
devices.
To pair all three Motorcycle Bluetooth devices:
1. After pairing A and B receivers, as per instructions on page 11, turn
both receivers completely OFF.
2. Place A & C (‘C’ being the third receiver) together (within 1m)
ensuring they are turned OFF to start and follow steps 1-5 on page
11. Once paired turn OFF A and C.
3. Finally, place B & C near one another (within 1m) ensuring they are
turned OFF to start and repeat steps 1-5 on page 11 again.
4. Turn on A - All three devices are now paired.
NOTE: Receiver A will always be the receiver that initiated the rst
Bluetooth connection as explained on page 11, step 4
7.3 Communicating with each Motorcycle Bluetooth Receiver
Again, you will only be able to talk to each receiver separately by using
the multi-function button to switch between receivers. Steps to do this
are as follows:

1. Press the power/intercom button ONCE to intercom with C, or press
the same button TWICE to intercom with B
Intercom chat instruction for B
1. Press the power/intercom button ONCE to intercom with C, or press
the same button TWICE to intercom with A
Intercom chat instruction for C
1. Press the power/intercom button ONCE to intercom with B, or press
the same button TWICE to intercom with A
NOTE: To switch between receivers, always press the power/
intercom button rst to stop the current conversation.

8. OPERATION WITH A BLUETOOTH ENABLED
AUDIO DEVICE
8.1 Playing Music
Your Cocoon Motorcycle Bluetooth Kit will pair with most Bluetooth
enabled audio devices, however note that we do not guarantee all audio
devices will be compatible.

9. DISPOSAL
At the end of its working life, do not throw this product out with your
household rubbish. Electrical and electronic products contain substances
that can have a detrimental eect on the environment and human
health if disposed of inappropriately. Observe any local regulations
regarding the disposal of electrical consumer goods and dispose of it
appropriately for recycling. Contact your local authorities for advice on
recycling facilities in your area.

will help to prevent any damage if the product needs to be transported

10. MAINTAIN AND STORAGE
The Bluetooth kit does not require scheduled maintenance or cleaning.
Should cleaning be necessary, simply wipe the outside surface with a dry
soft cloth. Be sure to unplug this device before cleaning.
Always store your device in a clean dry environment and avoid storage in
extreme heat or cold.
11. SPARE PARTS

1. Select music to play directly from your audio device (check your
audio device or phone instructions for how to do this).
2. Play music through the headset press the multi-function button
once.
3. Pause music press the multi-function button again.
4. Skip songs forward by quickly icking the jog wheel in a clockwise
direction.
5. Rewind songs backwards by quickly icking the jog wheel in an
anti-clockwise direction.
6. Volume up by turning the jog wheel anti-clockwise and holding
until the volume is at the right level.
7. Volume down by turning the the jog wheel clockwise and holding
until the volume is at the right level. You will hear a long beep if the
volume is at the highest or lowest level.
Tip: To improve the performance of your headset, make sure the
volume is set to the highest level on your music device.
8.2 Answer a Call While Listening to Music
Calls will automatically come through the headset while music is
playing.
1. To reject a call hold the multi-function button down until you hear
a beep.
2. Music will hold over the call duration and resume automatically
once the call has ended.

12. TROUBLESHOOTING
Repair and Refurbished Goods
or Parts Notice
Unfortunately, from time to time, faulty products are manufactured which need to be returned
to the Supplier for repair.
Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such asles
stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs
stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or les stored on a USB
memory stick) during the process of repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost.
We recommend you save this data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair.
You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them with
refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair process.
Please be assured though, refurbished parts or replacements are only used where they
meet ALDI’s stringent quality specications.

Problem Solution
The Bluetooth®
Receiver has no
power.
The Headset must be charged for at least 4
hours prior to rst use. Refer to Charging the
Bluetooth® Device on page 9 for further details.
My helmet is
uncomfortable to
wear after tting the
speakers.
The placement of the speakers within the helmet
may require repositioning. Two additional felted
adhesive earphone pads are supplied for this
purpose. Note: Some helmets have removable
padding; if yours does, it is recommended to run
the speaker and microphone under the padding.
My phone wont pair
with the Bluetooth®
Receiver
Activate the Bluetooth® function on your mobile
phone and search for the device, which will show
up as FDC-01VB on the “Device List”. Refer to your
phones instructions to do this. Refer to Pairing to
your Bluetooth® Enabled Mobile Phone on page
9 for further details.
The audio reception
breaks down
Bluetooth® enabled devices are susceptible to
occasional interference from other common
devices such as GPS units, laptops, alarms and
Wi-Fi routers etc. Move away from potential
sources of interference if you are experiencing
problems.
I can’t hear my music /
incoming calls
Check the volume on the attached device.
Setting your phone or audio device to the
maximum volume usually resolves this issue.
Will the Motorcycle
Bluetooth® Kit work
with my GPS?
Please refer to the manual provided with your
GPS unit. We do not guarantee that all GPS
Bluetooth devices will be compatible.
