2. Description of continuously burning stove of thick metal sheets
According to its construction, the continuously burning stove of thick metal sheets differs from the
other solid fuel stoves, both in the design, as well as in the composition of certain elements.
It is made of sheet metal positions with a cast grate which provides it very easy maintenance and
cleaning.
The doors of the stove are made of cast iron positions fitted with sealing pigtails which provide
tightness and enable function in operation.
The firebox cladding is made of steel sheet with a thickness of 4 and 3 mm.
The firebox is inlaid with changeable chamotte plates.
The emission heat is emitted by hot external surfaces of the stove, and especially through the glass.
The primary and secondary air intake opening is located on the back side of the stove.
3.Air regulation (fig.1)
Primary and secondary air regulation is performed by knobs located below the extension of the
lower door, which is previously open (fig. 1). The air flow is shown on fig.2.

The lower knob is for primary air regulation. The shaft is connected to a thermostat which
depending on the set power from 0 to 5 automatically releases certain quantity of air, which through
the firebox grate enters in the firebox from below and enables fuel combustion according to
previously desired and set temperature.
Make sure that the ashtray is not overfull and that it is regularly emptied, in order to provide free air
intake.
3.2. Secondary air regulation
The upper knob is for secondary air regulation. The shaft is connected to a secondary air intake flap.
The secondary air supplies the required oxygen for the firebox, thus enabling full fuel combustion.
The secondary air intake regulators must not be completely closed since the glass would become
smoky and high emissions of harmful substances would be created which can lead to flue clogging.

Ignite the paper and leave the door half-open, so that the sealing pigtail will not stick to the stove
paint.
The paint completely hardens even after few hours of heating.
During the first hours of operation, due to pain hardening, an unpleasant smell might be created in
the rooms where stoking is performed.
Please, aerate the room well.
When the chopped wood filling is well inflame, open the door and fill the stove firebox with the
required quantity of adequate fuel.
In order to maintain the glass without smoke as long as possible, wood should always be piled so
that the cut surface is not turned towards the glass.
During paint hardening, please do not he paint or do not put anything on the stove, in order to avoid
paint damaging.
The stove firebox is inlaid with chamotte plates. The chamotte plates activate heat, and emit it also
in the firebox thus increasing the combustion temperature.
During stoking of the stove in the transit period, fill the firebox with a smaller quantity of wood.
Open the air regulators more so that the current fuel can burn away faster (with the creating of
flame), thus stabilizing the flue draft.
In order to avoid poor combustion in the firebox, the ash should be more frequently and carefully
shined with intense heat.
4.2. Safety measures while using the stove
Never use water to extinguish fire.
The stove must not be placed on an inflammable pad, that is, the floor must be made of inflammable
material, for example plate of metal sheet, ceramics etc. The pad must cover at least 60cm in front
of the stove and 20 cm from the sides.
The distance to the back wall must be at least 20cm.
Inflammable elements must not be found in the area of emission of the stove.
The unpleasant smell cannot be avoided. It will disappear, but after few hours, when the paint
hardens.
During stove commissioning, the paint is soft. Please do not wipe the stove with a cloth and do not
put anything on it.
Empty the content of the ashtray in some metal or inflammable container intended solely for that
purpose.
The seemingly cooled ash can be very hot even after cooling for some time.
5. Installation of the continuously burning stove
For proper installation of the stove, you should check the draft in the flue, since a good draft is a
condition for proper stove operation.
Check of the draft strength is best and most easily performed by using a candle (see figure 3).
fig.3
slight draft
good draft
very strong draft
5
The draft strength depends on the following variables:
- on the flue regularity,
- on the atmospheric conditions (season),
- on the regularity of the stove and other heating elements connected to the flue,
- on the position of the house in the environment (whether it is on a hill, plain or valley).
If draft in the flue is insufficient, then this can lead to poor combustion and creation of smoke on the
glass.
6. Maintenance of the continuously burning stove
Mechanical cleaning of the flue pipe is compulsory and must be performed few times in a year,
including at least once during the heating season.
Check connections and the locking devices, especially parts that provide sealing.
Clean the stove grate on regular basis, so that it would remain functional.
During stoking of the stove, make sure that smoke is not created on the glass. Smoke is created due
to poor combustion, for several reasons:
- poor flue draft (bad flue),
- the stove is inappropriately used, for example the supply of oxygen is damped too early.
We have no influence on these factors. For this reason we do not provide guarantee for the clean
glass.
In order to keep the glass as clean as possible, the wood should always be inserted so that the
truncation surfaces are not in the direction of the glass.
The higher the temperature of combustion, that fewer incombustible substances are contained in the
exhaust gases.
The chamotte plate is easily changeable.
The chamotte plate cannot be damaged from mechanical impact.
If crack is visible on the chamotte plate, it still does not have to be replaced. This must be done if
metal parts behind it are visible.
The outer part of the stove should be cleaned with a dust brush or a dry cloth, not with a cloth or
water.
