Safety Precautions
The software CD disc included in this package is for PC only. Play it on a
stereo or CD player may damage the CD disc.
This product is a precision electronic device. Do not attempt to service this
camera by yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to
dangerous voltage points or other risks.
Do not expose this product under direct sunlight to avoid the cause of fire.
Before you start
Test some shots before performing the recording.
Before taking pictures with this DV camera on any important occasions (such
as a wedding ceremony or an overseas trip), do test the DV camera
beforehand to ensure that it functions well. Any loss caused by the
malfunction of this camera (such as costs of photography or any loss of
benefit generated by the photography) is not manufacturer’s responsibility
and no compensation will be given.
Copyright information
Unless agreed by the owner, all pictures taken with this DV camera cannot be
used in violation of copyright law. Moreover, when "No Photography"
restriction is placed on site, one cannot record any live performance,
improvisation or exhibits even for personal purpose. Any transfer of pictures
or memory card with data must be conducted under the constraints of
copyright law.
Notes on the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitor
Please watch out the liquid if the LCD monitor is damaged. Please abide the
stated procedures, if the followings occur:
1. If the liquid makes contact with the skin: wipe off the liquid on the skin
with a cloth and wash thoroughly with water.
2. If the liquid gets into the eye: rinse with water immediately for at least 15
minutes and receive treatment as soon as possible.
3. If the liquid is accidentally swallowed: rinse the mouth with water, drink a
large amount of water and induce vomiting. And receive treatment as
soon as possible.

Important Notices
This product consists of intricate electrical parts. To ensure the performance,
do not drop or hit the DV camera when taking pictures.
Do not use or place the DV camera in the following locations:
1. Damp and dusty places.
2. Sealed vehicles, direct sunlight exposure areas, or places with extremely
high temperature or heat.
3. Violent turbulent environment.
4. Locations full of smoke, oil fume or steam.
5. Locations of strong magnetic field.
6. Rainy or snowy environment.
Do not open the battery cover when the power is on.
If water gets into the DV camera, turn the power OFF and remove
the batteries immediately
Basic care for using your DV camera:
1.If the lens, LCD monitor or viewfinder surface is dirty, use lens brush or
soft cloth to wipe clean instead of touching the lens with fingers.
2.Avoid the scratch of the lens, LCD monitor or viewfinder surface; do not
use any solid objects to hit the DV camera.
3.Do not use any detergent or volatile solutions, which will cause the DV
camera case and the paint to resolve or distort. Use soft cloth only.

Press this button to change between the display modes.
RWD., PLAY/STOP and FWD. buttons
In the Playback mode, press this button to play, stop, forward, and rewind
the video. In the Snapshot mode, the PLAY/STOP button will act as the
"Self-timer" button.

Use this button to access the menus and perform digital zoom and volume
adjustment.

Press those buttons to switch to Record, Snapshot, Custom Settings, and

Rotating the LCD Monitor
Open the LCD monitor in left side of the DV camera carefully.
The directions and lock position of the LCD monitor is shown as follows:
Open Clockwise
90 degrees clockwise
Counterclockwise Counterclockwise
90 degrees counterclockwise 180 degrees counterclockwise
Do not rotate the LCD monitor in the wrong direction to avoid
damaging the LCD monitor

Loading/Replacing Batteries
Press the latch of the battery
cover.
Slide the battery cover open as
indicated by the arrow.
Insert the batteries as indicated
in the inner side of the cover.
Close and lock the battery cover.
Using Batteries
Do not open the cover roughly to avoid damaging battery
cover.

Connecting the AC/DC adapter
Turn the DV camera off and follow the instructions below:
Open the connectors cover and
connect one end of the AC
adapter to the DC-in jack on the
DV camera.
Connect the other end to an
electrical outlet.
Using the AC/DC Adapter
Make sure the AC/DC adapter is accordance with the
above specifications to avoid causing damages to the
DV camera.
This DV camera can’t be used as battery charger.

Loading and Removing the Memory Card
Loading the Memory Card
Turn the DV camera off and follow the instructions below:
Slide the battery cover
open as indicated by the
arrow.
Insert the memory card as
indicated by the arrow.
Removing the Memory Card
Turn the DV camera off and follow the instructions below:
Slide the battery cover
open as indicated by the
arrow.
Push the memory card
down gently and the
memory card will pop up.
Pull the memory card out.

After loading the memory card,
indicator will be displayed on the LCD
monitor under standard mode. If the
indicator (internal memory
status) was displayed on the LCD monitor, refer to the four possibilities and
solutions as follows,
Cannot recognize the image files stored on the memory card.
Save all the images to your PC and reformat the memory card.
The metal interface of the memory card is dirty that results in fail
memory card detection.
Gently wipe the metal interface with a soft cloth and reload the card again.
Memory card malfunction.
Get in touch with the vendor of the memory card for assistance.
Memory card slot malfunction.
Get in touch with the vendor of the DV camera for assistance.
The applicable memory cards are SD or MMC
(4MB~512MB).
If the memory card is inserted in the wrong direction,
it would not be fit in. In that case, do not force the
insertion or it would damage the memory card.
If the memory card is not detected, gently wipe the
metal interface of the card with a soft cloth and reload
the card.
Before loading the memory card, make sure the card
is unlock. Otherwise, a
symbol will be displayed
on the LCD monitor, and the user cannot record, take
pictures or access the memory card.

Using the Internal Memory
The 16MB built-in flash memory in the DV camera provides a temporary
space for storing data when the external memory card is full. However, not
the full 16MB flash memory is to be used for storing data, because some
memory space will be in use by the OSD program.
If a memory card is loaded in the DV camera, these actions (e.g. format
memory card, save images, play video, transfer images, etc.) will be
enabled but internal memory is disabled and vice versus.
If you prefer to use the internal memory, simply remove the external
memory card and all actions will be operated on internal memory.

Follow the instructions below to adjust the wrist strap:
Open the wrist strap pouch.
Adjust the wrist strap to fit your wrist.
Close the wrist strap pouch.

Power Supply
Press the Power button to turn on the DV camera; press the Power button
again to turn off.
LED Indicators
The following table lists the descriptions of Self-timer LED (located in the
front of camera) and Status LED (located in the rear of camera):

Power on and LED Indicators
If no operation is carried out for a fixed period of
time (default: 3 minutes), the DV camera will be
turned OFF automatically.
You can set the idle time manually (please refer to
page 18 for more information).

Press the SET button to switch to the Custom Settings mode.
Setting the Date/Time
The DV camera will record the date and time of the stored video and images,
therefore; please set the date and time correctly before using the DV camera.
Please refer to the Custom Settings Mode section for more information.
Setting the Language
Select the preferable OSD language for displaying information on the LCD
monitor. There are 7 languages for you to choose from: English, Traditional
Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Italian and Spanish.

Set the appropriate video output mode (NTSC / PAL)
corresponding to your TV standard to view videos on
TV.
Formatting the memory card/internal memory will
erase all stored data and cannot be retrieved. Make
sure you backup important data in the memory card
before applying this function.
The Frequency option helps to adjust the video quality
caused by the use of 50Hz or 60Hz AC power.
After selecting the Reset option, all the settings will be
restored to the factory default values, and the OSD
language will be in English.
