1. Introduction
To all residents of the European Union
Important environmental information about this product
This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of the device after its lifecycle
could harm the environment. Do not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as unsorted municipal
waste; it should be taken to a specialized company for recycling. This device should be
returned to your distributor or to a local recycling service. Respect the local environmental
rules.
If in doubt, contact your local waste disposal authorities.
Thank you for choosing Perel! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device
into service. If the device was damaged in transit, do not install or use it and contact your
dealer.
2. Safety Instructions
Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before using this appliance.
Indoor use only.
Class II equipment.
This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Risk of electroshock when opening the cover. Touching live wires can cause life-threatening
electroshocks. Do not disassemble or open the housing yourself. Have the device repaired
by qualified personnel.
Be very careful during the installation: touching live wires can cause life-threatening
electroshocks.
Always disconnect mains power when the device is not in use or when servicing or
maintenance activities are performed. Handle the power cord by the plug only.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device. Refer to an authorized dealer for
service and/or spare parts.
Have the device installed/repaired by a qualified person.
Do not use the device when damage to housing or cables is noticed. Do not attempt to
service the device yourself but contact an authorised dealer.

3. General Guidelines

All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user
modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will
void the warranty.
Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the
warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
Nor Velleman nv nor its dealers can be held responsible for any damage (extraordinary,
incidental or indirect) of any nature (financial, physical…) arising from the possession,
use or failure of this product.

5. Installation
Install the wifi antenna inside the house for the best results.
Please ensure a good wifi signal before installing! Relocate the router or the antenna if
necessary. If the wifi signal is still weak, add a wifi repeater or use a network cable.
Make sure to insert the SD card.
Step 1
Drill a hole for the wires to go through the wall. Loosen the screw at the bottom of the door
phone with the hex screwdriver. Remove the rain cover and stick the rain cover on the wall.
Step 2
Secure the rain cover using two screws.
Step 3
Lead the wires through the hole in the wall. Install the door phone in the rain cover and secure
with the hex screw.
Step 4
Connect the antenna to the door phone and stick the antenna on the wall.
Step 5
Proceed with the connection.

7. Installing the App
Download the DIY Smart app from the Google Play or iTunes store, and install it on your
mobile phone. Remember to allow the software to send notifications.
Connect your mobile phone to the same router as the camera’s and register. Make sure to
enable the Open DHCP function on your router.
This system does not support a 5 GHz wifi router. Use a 2.4 GHz wifi router instead.
If two mobile phones use the same account ID to log in, only one mobile phone can receive the
notifications. Therefore, each phone should register as a single account.
1. Click the Register button.
2. Enter your e-mail address and create an account password.
3. Click to register.
After registration, choose one of the setup methods below.

8. Setup
8.1 SmartLink
Insert the memory card. Also, connect the antenna and the power supply. It takes 30 seconds
to start up.
Do not connect the network cable as the system will not be able to set up a wifi connection in
SmartLink.
1. Enter your e-mail address and password.
2. Click to log in.
3. Click the + button.
4. Choose Add new device.
5. Click SmartLink.
6. Enter the wifi password and click Next.
7. Click Hear a beep for connection when you hear a beeping sound.
8. Turn the volume level of your mobile phone to the maximum. Click Next.

9. The door phone will emit a beep.
10. Enter the door phone name.
11. Enter the default password 123 and click the Save button to finish.
The door phone will beep three times to indicate a successful connection. Press the reset
button for five seconds on the door phone (see chapter Resetting) and re-connect to SmartLink
if the door phone does not beep.
If the door phone still does not connect to SmartLink, try the AP connection method.
8.2 AP Connection
Insert the memory card. Also, connect the antenna and the power supply. It takes 30 seconds
to start up.
Do not connect the network cable as the system will not be able to set up a wifi connection in
AP connection.
1. Enter your e-mail address and password.
2. Click to log in.
3. Click the + button.
4. Choose Add new device.
5. Click AP connection.

6. Click Hear a beep for connection when you hear a beeping sound.
7. Enter the passwords and click Next.
8. If you are using an Android
®
phone, click Go to set WiFi.
9. If you are using an iOS
®
phone, go to Settings WiFi and connect to the network.
10. Return to the app.
11. After the beep, click Already hearing: connect successfully to finish.

The door phone will beep three times to indicate a successful connection. Press the reset
button for five seconds on the door phone (see chapter Resetting) and retry if the door phone
does not beep.
If the door phone still does not connect, try the wired connection method.
8.3 Wired Connection
Insert the memory card. Also, power the door phone and connect it to the LAN port of the
router using a network cable. It takes 30 seconds to start up.
Make sure the door phone and mobile phone are connected to the same router.
1. Enter your e-mail address and password.
2. Click to log in.
3. Click the + button.
4. Choose Add new device.
5. Click Wired connection.
6. Click the device ID.
7. Enter the door phone name.

8. Enter the default password 123 and click the Save button to finish.
9. Click All devices Settings Network settings and select the wifi network in the list.
10. Enter the wifi password.
Do not select wifi as a network type.
11. Unplug the network cable.
9. Adding other Mobile Phones
In All devices, press + and select Add online device. Enter the mobile phone ID, name and
password.

To find the mobile phone ID, go to All devices, select the mobile phone and click Edit.
10. Date and Time
Go to All devices Device Time settings and select your time zone.
1. Select your time zone.
2. Click Application to confirm.
3. Check if the time zone is correct.

12. Push Notification
A notification will be sent to your phone as soon as the call button or alarm is triggered.

2. The picture will only appear when the mobile phone is loaded with a memory card.
It is important that the app be activated on the mobile phone.
Click to delete the ID which does not need to receive notifications
13. Video Recording and Playback
Step 1
Switch off the power, insert the memory card and switch on the power again. Do not insert or
remove the memory card when the device is switched on.
Step 2
Go to All devices Device Record settings Format card and confirm.

Step 3
Select Record alarm to record when the call button or alarm is triggered. Also, set the
recording mode and length.
Step 4
To play back a recorded video, go to All devices Playback and select the video.
14. Modifying a Password
Go to All devices Device Security settings Admin password and modify the
password.

1. Click Security settings.
2. Click Admin password.
3. Enter the old password, the new password and click Save. Your password must be 6-30
characters long and must include both alphabetic characters and numbers.
15. Deleting a Mobile Phone
1. Press (Android

) to view.
2. Click Delete.
3. Click Confirm.
16. Resetting
Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds. The system will restart 30 seconds after the
beep.

17. Tamper Alarm
When the door phone is removed from its rain cover with evil intent, the tamper switch will be
activated. The system will then send an alarm message to your connected phone.
18. Troubleshooting
I do not receive any notification on my smartphone.
Make sure the notification function is enabled on the door phone.
Make sure the app is enabled on your smart phone.
Unclear sound or picture, no sound.
The network is not stable. Try to change to a broader bandwidth.
Possibly, too many devices are connected to the same router.
Audio and video delay with long-distance connection.
The door phone is installed too far from the antenna. Shorten the connection distance or
use a 16 dB antenna instead.
Poor-quality audio on my smartphone.
Increase the volume level on your smartphone.
I do not receive any notification on my smartphone.
Make sure the notification function is enabled on the door phone.
Make sure the app is enabled on your smart phone.
The audio is subject to noise and echo.
Your smartphone is possible too close to the door phone’s speaker.
I cannot open the door lock.
Tap the key icon for 3 seconds to unlock the door. Wait for 6 more seconds and retry.
Can I update my app?
Yes, you can. Go to the system settings page and tap [Update].
Can I update my door phone?
Yes, go to the device updating page to update to the newest version.

19. Cleaning and Maintenance
The device does not need any particular maintenance. However, it is advisable to clean it
occasionally to keep it looking like new.
Occasionally wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or
strong detergents.
