New Date Code Format
Production Location Code
Danfoss compressors have a manufacturing date code stamping on the housing.
The form mainly used recently is stamping into the top cover of the housing
(fig.1). The content coding is described in the collections of data sheets.
On some compressor production lines the stamping has been changed to needle
printing into the side of the housing (fig.2). This is going to be introduced on all
products.
Selected production lines have started a new coding. The method is going to be
introduced on all P-, T-, F-, N- and S-type compressors in the near future.
For a certain period 2 different codes, in needle printing and cover stamping, will
be used in parallel. The coding is designed not to be mixed up with the previous
version.
The content of the new coding (fig.2) is 2 lines, with 6 and 7 characters each,
according to the example below.
Example:
H4447C (6 characters)
245D23B (7 characters)
Composition of line 1
H4447: Compressor type information (102H4447 = H4447)
C: internal Danfoss code
Composition of line 2
24: Production week
5: Production year
D: Production day
A = Monday, B = Tuesday, C = Wednesday, D=Thursday, etc.
23: Production hour 00 to 23 or shift code -1, -2, -3
