This handheld is intended for household use only and NOT for commercial or industrial use.
Please keep instructions for further use.
When using the handheld, basic safety precautions should always be observed, including the following:
1. Unplug the charger when it is not in use.
2. Only charge the handheld indoors on dry surfaces.
3. Only use the handheld indoors on dry surfaces.
4. Only use the handheld to pick up dry debris.
5. Turn o the on/o switch on the handheld controls before disconnecting or connecting from the mains supply.
6. Always turn o the handheld before connecting or disconnecting the accessories.
7. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
8. This appliance is not intended for use by children under eight years of age and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understands the hazards involved.
9. Cleaning and maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
10. The appliance should only be used as described in the quick start guide or in the full online user guide.
11. Only Vax recommended attachments should be used with this appliance.
12. Only use the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge your handheld.
13. Do not use this handheld vacuum cleaner if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped into water.
Do not the charger with a damaged cord or plug. If the supply cord is damaged return the product to a Vax
authorised Service Agent or a suitably qualied person for examination, repair or adjustment.
14. Do not pull or carry this appliance by the cord. Do not use the cord as a handle, close a door on the cord or pull
the cord around sharp edges or corners. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
15. Do not handle the plug, charger or the handheld with wet hands.
16. Do not throw batteries into the re or expose them to high temperatures, as they may burst.
17. Keep hair, loose clothing, ngers and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
18. Do not pick up any hot coals, cigarette butts, matches or any hot, smoking or burning objects.
19. Do not pick up any ammable or combustible materials (lighter uid, petrol, kerosene etc.) or use in the
presence of explosive liquids or vapours.
20. Do not vacuum up harmful or toxic material (chlorine, bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner etc.)
21. Do not vacuum up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws, coins etc.
22. Store the vacuum cleaner in a cool, dry area.
23. Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any openings blocked and do not restrict airow.
Keep all openings free of dust, lint, hair or anything that might reduce airow.
24. Do not use without all of the lters in place.
25. Take extra care when using this appliance on the stairs.
26. Keep vacuuming area well lit.

WARNING: Always switch o and unplug the handheld from the electrical outlet before assembling, opening or emptying
the dirt container, or before connecting/disconnecting the attachments.

IMPORTANT: The conditions of the  lter a ects the performance of your
machine. Please check and clean the  lter at least every three months.
IMPORTANT: Do not use the handheld without the  lter in place.

IMPORTANT: The handheld vacuum contains a battery that must not be disposed of in your domestic waste.
Check with your Local Authority for recycling advice.
Removing the battery
• Never short-circuit the battery, i.e never touch both poles simultaneously, especially with metal objects.
• Never dismantle the battery.
• Never expose the battery to high temperatures.
• Improper handling can lead to liquid leaking from the battery. This can cause skin irritations.
Avoid any contact with the uid.
• If it becomes necessary to replace the battery, contact the Vax Careline.
• Do not replace the battery with a battery of a dierent type.

Looking After Your Machine
Warning: To reduce the risk of personal injury, unplug the vacuum cleaner before performing maintenance/
troubleshooting checks.
Why will the handheld not run?
• The battery may not be charged – plug the charger into the unit and into the mains
• The unit may have been in the “on” when charged - move the power switch to the ‘o’ position and charge again
• Note: The solid light shows the unit is charging. The light will ash when the unit is charged.

Why won’t the handheld pick up?
• The nozzle or tools may be blocked - remove the dirt container and/or tool and check for obstructions.
• The lter may be clogged or dirty - clean the lter. Refer to the Maintenance section for details
• The dirt container is full - empty the container.
• The battery charge is getting weak – place the unit in the “o” position and charge.

Why won’t the battery recharge?
• The charger may not be inserted correctly – remove and reinsert.
• The unit may have been in the “on” position - move the power switch to the ‘o’ position and charge again.
• No power maybe supplied to the unit - check the mains electrical outlet is switched on and working.
