the threaded hole located on the right side of your grinder.
C. Screw it in as far as it can go.

SHARPENING YOUR LAWN MOWER BLADE
REMINDER: Make sure that your blade is completely clean and dry before sharpening.
A. Attaching the Blade to the Sharpener Clamp
1. Unscrew the vise handle to open the vise wide enough to allow the blade’s width to fit.
2. Center the blade between the two sets of 2 clamps. Ideally the center hole of your blade should
be centered between the 4 clamps. The blade must be properly aligned with the vise frame.
3. Tighten the vise handle to secure the blade in place.

B. Attaching Small Blades to the Sharpener Clamp
The vise can be turned around to be able to fit blades of smaller width.
1. Unscrew the vise handle until it is fully detached from the clamp.
2. Remove the outer half of the vise by sliding it out of the assembly.
3. Turn it so that the opposite side will be facing the assembly.
4. Re-attach it to the assembly.
5. Screw back the Vise Handle.
WARNING: Do not overtighten the vise to avoid damaging the blade.

C. Attaching the Grinder to the Guide Arm
REMINDER: Make sure your grinder is turned off and unplugged.
1. Take the grinder with the attached Guide Rod.
2. Insert the smooth end of the Guide Rod through the pivot hole of the Guide Arm.
3. Slide the Guide Rod all the way in. The grinder should be parallel to the Guide Arm and pointing
in the same direction.
NOTE: If the grinder has a guard, it may be necessary to adjust the position so that it does not obstruct
the movement of the Guide Arm and the grinder during use.
4. Position the grinder wheel on the blade area to be sharpened. The moveable joint of the Guide
Arm should be positioned towards you.
5. Align the center of the grinder wheel with the blade area to be sharpened. To do this, adjust
the position of the bushing and lock nut by turning them inwards or outwards until the wheel
of the grinder is centered on the blade.
6. Tighten the lock nut until snug. This will keep the grinder wheel in place during sharpening.
WARNING: Do not overtighten the lock nut. The bushing could get stuck during sharpening if
the lock nut is too tight.
NOTE: Re-adjusting the bushing and lock nut is usually not necessary after the first use if you will be
sharpening blades of similar width.

D. Sharpening a Standard (Straight) Blade
REMINDER: Wear the proper safety equipment such as goggles and ear plugs during sharpening.
NOTE: We recommend using a 36 or 60 grit apper wheel for sharpening. Using a hard disk is not recommended.
1. For sharpening standard blades put the vise handle to the “Low” position.
2. While holding the body of the grinder with your right hand rmly grasp the handle of the grinder
with your left hand.
3. Turn on the power of the grinder.
4. Lightly grind the blade starting at the bottom moving upward in a pushing motion. Make sure to
exert light and consistent pressure as you move upwards.
WARNING: If blue spots occur on the edge of the blade, it is an indication that you are
either moving too slowly or grinding too much material. Adjust to an even lighter pressure
to x this problem.
5. As soon as you reach the upper most cutting part of the blade release the pressure on the blade
and move the grinder back to the bottom position repeat the process.
6. After two or three passes of the grinder, check the sharpness of the blade.
WARNING: Be careful when testing for sharpness using your ngers as this could cause
injury. Turn the grinder off and set aside before checking for sharpness.
7. Repeat these steps until you are satised with the sharpness of the blade.
NOTE: When sharpening a blade for the rst time the blade angle will most likely not be at the
same angle of the “Low” position, which is 30 degrees. In such cases, it may be necessary to make
more grinding passes on the blade until it is of the same angle. It should take less time sharpening
after the rst time.
8. When you have achieved the desired sharpness, turn the power of the grinder off.
9. Set it aside by moving it down and let it hang while still attached to the Guide Arm.
10. Turn the Vise Handle loose to release the blade.
11. Turn the blade to position the blade on the other side for sharpening.
12. Re-attach the blade to the Sharpener Clamp.
13. Repeat the steps for sharpening the blade.

Standard Blades
E. Sharpening Mulching (Dual Angle) Blades
1. A mulching blade has different angled edges on each blade side:
2. When sharpening a mulching blade adjust the position of the vise handle to either “Low” or
“High” position based on the angle.
F. Sharpening a Counter Clockwise (Left Hand) Blade
To sharpen a counter clockwise blade the process is the same except you have to work on the bottom
blade instead of the top blade.
1. Attach the blade to the Sharpener Clamp (See VI-A).
2. Attach the grinder to the Guide Arm (See IV-C).
3. Extend the grinder all the way down to the lower part of the blade.
4. Follow the same steps in centering and grinding for Standard blades.

OTHER TIPS
A. When starting out with this product, it is highly recommended to use light pressure during grinding.
Light pressure means more grinding passes are required until you get to your desired sharpness but
it also decreases the chances of over grinding.
B. As you become more adept at using the product you can start experimenting and establish a technique
more suitable for you.
C. When sharpening a badly nicked or scarred blade it is best to keep the line straight by aligning the
movement of the grinder with the back side or the left side of the blade rather than aligning with the
sharp edge or right side of the blade.
D. Although it is highly recommended that you position the moveable joint of the Guide Arm towards
you, it is also possible to position it in the opposite direction when in use. Just make sure to test it
first before using it as it may obstruct certain movements.
E. It is highly recommended to balance the blade after sharpening. There are many methods of doing
this. There are establishments that offer the service and there are also do-it-yourself methods which
can be found on the internet.
PRODUCT CARE AND MAINTENANCE
A. Wipe the Blade Pro Sharpener clean with a dry cloth after every use.
B. Regularly apply a light coat of oil or any anti-rust solution on the Guide Arm, Guide Arm Bushing,
and Guide Rod.
C. For any repairs or replacement of parts always consult an authorized agent.
