Start by positioning the speakers

in a room according to the

coloured labels on the back.

For the supplied speakers, just

connect the speaker cords to the

corresponding colour on the rear

of the subwoofer.

Next, insert the wireless

transceivers into main unit and

subwoofer for an easy, cable-free

connection.

To enjoy high-quality video and

audio, the best method is to

connect via a High Speed HDMI

cable  (not supplied).

If your TV has an HDMI ARC jack, you do

not need a digital optical cord.

If your TV has no HDMI ARC jack, you need

a digital optical cord  (not supplied)

to enjoy TV sound through the system

speakers.





To connect your set-top box,

game console or digital satellite

receiver, simply connect with an

HDMI cable. 

For FM radio, connect the supplied

wire antenna (aerial) into the inner

socket and extend it for the best

reception. 

Alternatively, connect your own

external antenna (aerial).

You can also connect your iPod or

iPhone to the system and your TV

via the supplied dock. 







The system has built in Wi-Fi

to allow you to connect to the

internet and home network

services.

If you don’t have access to a

wireless network, you can also

connect with a LAN cable.

Network settings can be found in

the home menu - see p.15.

Once all of your devices are

connected, you can plug in the

AC adapter. The clamps can be

used to tidy the cables.

Now you can re-attach the panel

and stand covers, then plug in

the AC power cords (main leads)

of the main unit and subwoofer

to the AC power outlet (mains).





After connecting the AC

power cords (mains leads) to

the AC power outlet (mains),

“WELCOME” appears in the

front panel display of the main

unit. Press / on the main

unit to turn the system on; the

LINK/STANDBY indicator of the

subwoofer turns green.

Cable setup is complete!

Now for the on-screen Easy

Setup

You can use the supplied Blu-ray

remote (shown below) to go

through the on-screen set up.

This should take a few minutes.

If the Blu-ray menu screen does

not appear automatically, use

your TV remote to select the

correct AV input in your TV’s

menu.

Once you see the message, [Easy

Set up is now complete] on the

screen, simply select [Finish] and

the system is ready to use.

To play a disc, simply insert one

into the disc slot with the labeled

side facing the front. To eject it,

press .

When a disc is inserted,

will

appear in the home menu and

playback will start automatically.

If playback does not start automatically,

select

in the [Video], [Music], or

[Photo] category, and press .

To access a variety of additional functions

and features, simply press HOME on the

Blu-ray remote.

Shown below are a few examples

Presetting radio stations

1 Press FUNCTION repeatedly

until “FM” appears in the front

panel display.

2 Press and hold TUNING +/–

until auto scanning starts.

3 Press OPTIONS.

4 Press / to select [Preset

Memory], then press .

5 Press / to select the preset

number you want, then press

.

6 Repeat Steps 2 to 5 to store

other stations.

1 Press FUNCTION repeatedly

until “FM” appears in the front

panel display.

2 Press PRESET +/– repeatedly to

select the preset station.

Troubleshooting

If you experience any of the following difficulties while

using the system, use this troubleshooting guide to help

remedy the problem before requesting repairs.

Also consult the Instruction Manual on the following

website:

The power is not turned on.

Check that the AC power cords (mains leads) for the

main unit and subwoofer are connected securely.

Check that the AC power cord (mains lead) of the

main unit is connected securely to the AC adapter.

Check that the connector of the AC adapter is

connected securely to the DC IN 14V connector on

the rear of the main unit.

The system does not work normally.

Disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead) from

the wall outlet (mains), then reconnect after several

minutes.

There is no picture after playing a video/photo file

on the iPod/iPhone.

Select the input on your TV for this system.

There is no sound or wireless transmission is not

activated.

Check the status of the LINK/STANDBY indicator on

the subwoofer.

Turns off.

Check that the AC power cord (mains lead) of the

subwoofer is connected securely.

ē

Turn the subwoofer on by pressing / on the

subwoofer.

ˎ

Flashes green quickly.

ē

 Press / on the subwoofer.  Insert the

wireless transceiver into the subwoofer correctly.

 Press / on the subwoofer.

ˎ

Flashes red.

ē

Press / to turn off the subwoofer, and check

the following items.

 Are the + and – speaker cords short-circuited?

 Is anything blocking the ventilation opening

of the subwoofer?

After checking the above items and fixing any

problems, turn on the subwoofer. If the cause

of the problem cannot be found even after

checking all the above items, consult your

nearest Sony dealer.

Flashes green or orange slowly or turns red.

ē

Make sure that the wireless transceiver is inserted

correctly into the main unit.

ē

Sound transmission is poor. Move the subwoofer

so that the LINK/STANDBY indicator turns green

or orange.

ē

Move the system away from other wireless

devices.

ē

Avoid using any other wireless devices.

ˎ

Check the speaker connections.

The disc does not play.

The region code on the BD/DVD does not match the

system.

Moisture has condensed inside the main unit and may

cause damage to the lenses. Remove the disc and

leave the main unit turned on for about half an hour.

The system cannot play a recorded disc that is not

correctly finalized.

Reducing power usage to less than 0.3 W in

Standby Mode

Press HOME, and then press /// to select [Setup]

in [System Settings]. Check that the following settings

are made:

[Control for HDMI] in [HDMI Settings] is set to [Off].

[Quick Start Mode] is set to [Off ].
