IFM E30532 Operating instructions

  • Hello! I've reviewed the Operating instructions for the ifm Cooling adapter Aseptoflex-Vario 11522600. This document provides information on safe installation, intended use, and maintenance of the cooling adapter used in welding. It also highlights the importance of proper cooling to maintain dimensional accuracy and prevent condensation and overheating. I'm ready to help clarify any questions you may have about the device or its operation.
  • What is the purpose of the cooling adapter?
What should I do to avoid overheating the coolant during welding?
Why is it important to prevent condensation on the welding adapter?
What should be checked before and after welding?

2 Safety instructions
Read this document before setting up the product and keep it during the entire service life.
The product must be suitable for the corresponding applications and environmental conditions
without any restrictions.
Only use the product for its intended purpose (Ò Intended use).
If the operating instructions or the technical data are not adhered to, personal injury and/or damage
to property may occur.
The manufacturer assumes no liability or warranty for any consequences caused by tampering with
the product or incorrect use by the operator.
Installation, set-up, operation and maintenance of the product must be carried out by qualified
personnel authorised by the machine operator.
When using water cooling in a welding process, make sure that the coolant does not come to a
standstill to prevent it from overheating.
The cooling must not lead to the formation of condensate on the surface of the welding adapter,
otherwise the welding process will be impeded.

4.1 Cooling
The cooling must not lead to the formation of condensate on the surface of the welding adapter,
otherwise the welding process will be impeded.
uCirculation of the coolant must be ensured during welding.
uEven with internal cooling, professional welding with sufficient cooling time between the welding
steps (back-step welding) is mandatory.
uThe tightness of the flexible hose connections must be ensured so that no coolant comes into
contact with the weld seam.
uThe cooling effect must be checked by a supervising welding specialist and monitored during the
welding process.
4.2 Use on tanks
The cooling adapter and the counter plate are to be used provided the tank is accessible from
the inside after the welding process.
uScrew the cooling adapter into the adapter to be welded in until it is hand-tight.
uScrew the counter plate from the inside of the tank onto the cooling adapter. Max. tightening torque
20 Nm.
uActivate cooling.
uCarry out the welding operation Ò Installation instructions Welding adapter.
uAfter each welding, including the cooling phase, check the thread of the welding adapter for ease of
movement.
uAfter cooling, unscrew the counter plate from the cooling adapter.
uAfter cooling, remove the cooling adapter from the welding adapter and check that the thread and
sealing edge are not damaged.
4.3 Use on pipes and inline housings
Mount the cooling adapter so that it does not touch the opposite wall.
uScrew the cooling adapter hand-tight into the welding adapter.
uActivate cooling.
uCarry out the welding operation Ò Installation instructions Welding adapter.
uAfter each welding, including the cooling phase, check the thread of the welding adapter for ease of
movement.
uAfter cooling, remove the cooling adapter from the welding adapter and check that the thread and
sealing edge are not damaged.
