read these instructions – they have been written to ensure that you get the very best
from your purchase.

PRODUCT SAFETY
IMPORTANT
The mains lead of this product is not replaceable by the user. If the mains lead
is damaged, the entire appliance should be returned to an Authorised Service Centre
for repair.
Please read these instructions carefully before using your kettle for the rst time and
retain for future reference.
Make sure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate (located on the
underside of both the kettle and power base) is the same as your household
supply. If not, do not use the kettle and return it to the place of purchase.
This appliance can be used by children from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall
not play with appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children without supervision.
Boiling water and steam can cause serious burns. Always place your kettle on a
at, stable surface and only use the power base supplied.
Always allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning or storing.
To prevent electrical hazards, never put the kettle or power base in water (or any
other liquids) and do not allow water to penetrate electrical parts.
Ensure that the kettle and its power cable are kept well out of the reach of
children and pets. Close supervision in necessary when the appliance is used
near children.
The outside surface will get very hot during use. Always take great care when
handling your kettle.
Always ensure that the kettle is switched o before removing from
the power base.
Beware of steam being emitted from the spout or lid, especially during relling.
Fill with water to the maximum mark, bring the water to the boil and discard
the boiled water. Repeat two or three times. This will ensure that your kettle is
perfectly clean.
This kettle is intended for normal household use only.
It must not be used for anything other than its intended purpose.
Do not use the appliance outdoors.
Do not insert any objects into holes or slots in this appliance.
This appliance must not be placed on or near any potentially hot surfaces
(such as a gas or electric hob).
Do not allow the mains lead to hang over the edge of the work surface
or become tangled or knotted.
Do not operate the appliance if the power cable or plug are damaged,
or if the appliance malfunctions or is damaged in anyway. Check the mains
lead regularly for signs of damage.
Do not open the lid whilst the kettle is boiling.
Always switch o and unplug the kettle when not in use.
Do not ll the kettle above the MAX mark, boiling water may splash out
if overlled.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY
IMPORTANT
Read these instructions thoroughly before using this appliance or connecting it
to the mains supply. A 13 amp BS1362 ASTA approved fuse must be tted.
This appliance must be earthed. There are no user-serviceable parts inside
this appliance.
Always refer servicing to qualied service personnel.
The mains lead of this product is not replaceable by the user. If the mains lead
is damaged, the entire appliance should be returned to an authorised service centre
for repair.
Do not allow this product to be exposed to rain or moisture during use or storage.
Before switching on, make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same
as that indicated on the rating plate. Connecting it to any other power source may
cause damage.
This product may be tted with a non-rewireable plug. If it is necessary to change
the fuse in the plug, the fuse cover must be retted. If the fuse cover becomes lost
or damaged, the plug must not be used until a suitable replacement is obtained.
If the plug has to be changed because it is not suitable for your socket, or due to
damage, it should be cut o and a replacement tted, following the wiring instructions
shown. The old plug must be disposed of safely because inserting it into a 13 amp
socket could cause an electrical hazard.

The wires in the power cable of this product are coloured in accordance with
the following code:
Blue = Neutral Brown = Live Green/Yellow = Earth
If the markings on the terminals of your plug do not correspond to the colours of the
wires in the power cable, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured Blue must be connected to the terminal which is
marked N or coloured Black.
The wire which is coloured Brown must be connected to the terminal which is
marked L or coloured Red.
The wire which is coloured Green/Yellow must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the earth symbol ( ) or coloured Green, or Green/Yellow.

Carefully remove your kettle from the box. You may wish to retain the packaging
for future use.

Before use
Before rst use, ll with water to the maximum mark, bring the water to the boil and
discard the boiled water. Repeat two or three times. This will ensure that your kettle is
perfectly clean.
Positioning the kettle
Position the power base on a dry, at surface away from any potential
heat source.
Ensure the mains cable does not hang over the edge of the work surface.

WARNINGS
Always remove the kettle from the base before lling it.
Do not ll through the spout.
Do not ll the Kettle above the MAX mark, or below the MIN mark on
the water level indicator.
Never open the lid during boiling.
Filling the Kettle
1. Remove the kettle from the power base.
2. Open the lid.
3. Fill the kettle between the MIN and MAX markings on the water level indicator
with cold water.
4. Replace the lid and place the kettle back on the power base.
Make sure the lid is securely locked before boiling
Switching On
1. Position the kettle on the power base.
2. Plug in and switch the kettle on at the mains.
3. To start boiling the kettle, press the On/O switch down to the “I” (On) position.
Switching O
When the water has boiled the kettle will switch o automatically. You can stop the
boiling process at any time by lifting the On/O switch to the ‘O’ (O) position.

CLEANING
WARNINGS
Always unplug the kettle from the power socket and allow to cool completely before
cleaning or storing.
Never immerse any part of the mains cable, power base or kettle in water or any
other liquid.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Check that the plug is disconnected from the wall outlet.
Do not use in ammable or corrosive substances, abrasive pads, detergents or
vinegar. Otherwise you risk damaging the appliance.
Clean the electric kettle interior using tap water and exterior with a dry cotton
cloth. Do not use water to clean the appliance exterior, do not put it in to water
or wash it under the tap.
Clean the base with a dry cotton cloth. Do not use water to clean the base, do
not put it into water or under the tap.
Clean the lter if necessary by carefully removing it. When you nish cleaning
the lter, replace it correctly.
Do not wash the appliance or its single components in the dishwasher,
otherwise you risk damaging it and making it dangerous to use again.

TROUBLESHOOTING
KETTLE SWITCHES OFF BEFORE BOILING WATER
If your kettle switches o before water boiling, you need to descale the kettle.
Should you boil the kettle without sucient water, the device will cut out/switch o
automatically. Switch on the kettle again as outlined in the paragraph below.
SAFETY CUT-OUT DEVICE
Allow the kettle to cool down for 5 minutes before relling it with water. Turn the ON/
OFF switch into ON position, after 15 minutes the kettle will switch on automatically
and begin to boil water.
STRANGE TASTE FROM THE WATER
Usually a plastic taste appears after using the device for the rst time. Filling , boiling
and emptying the kettle a few times, should take away the taste.
If plastic taste does not disappear, ll the kettle with water up to “Max” mark and add
2 teaspoons of Bicarbonate of Soda. Boil and pour out this water.
LIMESCALE DEPOSITS
Periodic descaling will maintain the best performance of the kettle. Descale interval
depends on the hardness of your local water supply. To remove limescale use a suitable
propriety kettle de-scaler which is available from leading supermarkets, department
stores and hardware stores.

Any defect that arises due to faulty materials or workmaniship during the rst
12 months, will either be replaced or refunded where possible during this period by
the dealer from whom you purchased the unit.
NB: Non-registered products are guaranteed for a period of 12 months.
If a fault develops after 12 months and within 24 months from the date of original
purchase and you have registered the product on line, you should contact customer
services quoting the product’s model number and batch code.
The following conditions apply:

or consumable items.
The product must be correctly installed and operated in accordance with the
