residences,garages,porches,or othersuchstructuresor buildings.
* Operatorsshouldevaluatetheirabilityto operatethesnowthrowersafely
enoughtoprotectthemselvesandothersfrominjury.

throwerforanyotherpurpose.

*, Afterstrikingaforeignobject,shutOFFtheengine,disconnectthecordon
electricmotors,thoroughlyinspectthesnowthrowerfor anydamage,and
repairthedamagebeforerestartingandoperatingthesnowthrower.
*, Ifthesnowthrowervibratesabnormally,shutOFFtheengine.Vibrationis
generallyawarningoftrouble.Seeanauthorizeddealerif necessaryfor
repairs.
. Formodelsequippedwithelectricstartingmotors,disconnectthepower
cordaftertheenginestarts.
FuelHandling

Fuelanditsvaporsareextremelyflammableandexplosive,
Alwayshandlefuelwithextremecare.
Failuretoobservethesesafetyinstructionscancausea fire

WHENADDINGFUEL
* Turnoffengineandletcoolatleast2 minutesbeforeremovingthefuel
capandaddingfuel.
o Fill fueltankoutdoorsor inawell ventilatedarea.
o Donotoverfillthefueltank.Toallowfortheexpansionofgasoline,do notfill
abovethebottomofthefueltankneck.
o Keepfuelawayfromsparks,openflames,pilotlights,heat,andother
ignitionsources.
o Checkfuellines,cap,andfittingsfrequentlyfor cracksor leaks.Replaceif
necessary.
o Useanapprovedfuelcontainer.
o Iffuelspills,wait untilit evaporatesbeforestartingengine.
WHENSTARTINGENGINE
*, Ensurethatsparkplug, muffler,fuelcap,andair cleaner(if equipped)arein
placeandsecured.
. Donotcranktheenginewiththesparkplug removed.
. If fuelisspilled,do notattempttostarttheengine,butmovethesnow
throwerawayfromtheareaofthespill, andavoidcreatinganysourceof
ignition,untilthefuelvaporshavedissipated.
*, Donotover-primetheengine.Followtheenginestartinginstructionsinthis
manual.
. If theenginefloods,setchoke(if equipped)toOPEN/RUNposition,move
throttle(ifequipped)to FASTpositionandcrankuntilenginestarts.
WHENOPERATINGEQUIPMENT
* Donottipthesnowthroweratananglewhichcausesthefuelto spill.
o Donotchokethecarburetorto stoptheengine.
o Neverruntheenginewiththeaircleanerassembly(ifequipped)or theair
filter (ifequipped)removed.
WHENCHANGINGOiL
* Ifyoudraintheoilfromthetopoil fill tube,thefueltankmustbeemptyor
fuelcanleakoutandresultin afire orexplosion.
