Training
•Readtheinstructionscarefully.Befamiliarwiththecontrolsand
theproperuseoftheappliance.
•Neverallowchildrentousetheappliance.
•Neverallowpeopleunfamiliarwiththeseinstructionstousethe
appliance.Localregulationsmayrestricttheageoftheoperator.
•Neveroperatetheappliancewhilepeople,especiallychildren,
orpetsarenearby.
•Theoperatororuserisresponsibleforaccidentsorhazards
occurringtootherpeopleortheirproperty.
Preparation
•Whileoperatingtheappliance,alwayswearsubstantialfootwear
andlongtrousers.
•Donotwearlooseclothingorjewelrythatcanbedrawnintothe
airinlet(refertothefollowinggure).Keeplonghairawayfrom
theairinlets.
•Wearprotectivegoggleswhileoperating.
•Topreventdustirritation,wearafacemask.
•Beforeusing,checkthesupplyandextensioncordforsigns
ofdamageandaging.Donotusetheapplianceifthecordis
damagedorworn.
•Neveroperatetheappliancewithdefectiveguardsorshields,or
withoutsafetydevicesinplace,suchasthevacuumbag/vacuum
tubeorblowertube/inletcover.
•OnlyuseaCEapproved,weatherproofextensioncordttedwith
theproperplugforyourlocation,accordingtolocalordinances.
Operation
•Donotusetheapplianceonwetsurfaces.Donotexposeitto
rain.Storeitindoors.
•Donothandleplugorappliancewithwethands.
•Alwaysdirectthecordtotherearawayfromtheappliance.
•Ifacordbecomesdamagedduringuse,disconnectthesupply
cordfromthemainsimmediately.Donottouchthecordbefore
disconnectingthesupply.
•Donotcarrytheappliancebythecord,usethecordasahandle,
closeadooronthecord,orpullthecordaroundsharpedgesor
corners.Keepthecordawayfromheatedsurfaces.
•Turnoffallcontrolsbeforeunplugging.
•Donotunplugbypullingoncord.Tounplug,grasptheplug,not
thecord.
•Disconnecttheappliancefromthepowersourceasfollows:
–Wheneveryouleavethemachine
–Beforeclearingablockage
–Beforechecking,cleaning,orworkingontheappliance
–Iftheappliancestartstovibrateabnormally
•Operatetheapplianceonlyindaylightoringoodarticiallight.
•Donotoverreachandkeepyourbalanceatalltimes.
•Alwaysbesureofyourfootingonslopes.
•Walk,neverrun.
•Keepallcoolingairinletsclearofdebris.Donotputanyobjectinto
openings.Donotusewithanyopeningblocked.
•Neverblowdebrisinthedirectionofbystanders.
•Useextracarewhencleaningonstairs.
•Donotusetovacuumupammableorcombustibleliquids,such
asgasoline,oruseinareaswheretheymaybepresent.
•Donotvacuumanythingthatisburningorsmoking,suchas
cigarettes,matches,orhotashes.
•Thisapplianceisprovidedwithdoubleinsulation(i.e.,Class2
device).Useonlyidenticalreplacementparts.Seeinstructionsfor
servicingofDouble-Insulated(Class2)appliances.
Maintenanceandstorage
•Keepallnuts,bolts,andscrewstighttobesuretheapplianceisin
safeworkingcondition.
•Checkthevacuumbagfrequentlyforwearordeterioration.
•Replacewornordamagedparts.
•Ifapplianceisnotworkingasitshould,hasbeendropped,
damaged,leftoutdoors,ordroppedintowater,returnittoaservice
dealer.
•Useonlygenuinereplacementpartsandaccessories.
•Storetheapplianceinadryplace.
