once wrote “Without music, life
would be a mistake.” Here at
Scansonic, we couldn’t agree
more. But we’d like to put a spin of
our own on this oh-so-true obser-
vation. For us, the thought of not
having great audio products would
be even more of a mistake!
Our Scansonic range of high-
quality radios, loudspeakers,
and accessories are all designed
with one purpose in mind: faithful
reproduction of the music you like
to listen to most. It’s about hearing
the music in the same way as its
creator intended it to be heard.
With a balance, clarity, and rich-
ness that makes you look forward
to hearing it again and again. Or
maybe even hearing something

So the more you listen, the more
you like. And rightfully so. But we
want to do more. So we’ve added
attractive styling to the appeal-
ing sound. After all, aren’t great-
sounding and great-looking radios
and speakers better than boring,
boxy audio components? This is
also why we’ve made certain to
offer a number of colour selections
in our offerings to you. Different
colours to suit different tastes, just
like in different music. The world
would indeed be uninspiring in
monochrome.

In today’s busy world, it’s nice to
know that some things remain the
same. Like the pleasure we get from a
product which meets our most basic
needs. The R2 FM radio from
Scansonic is exactly one of them.
It was created from the simplest
starting point: a single source of
sound. This analogue FM radio has
easy operation, great sound
reproduction, and a solid construction
as its core elements.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Tune it in manually using the robust,
centrally-placed dial, and enjoy.
The high-quality FM tuner found in
the cabinet features the most modern
technologies, ensuring crystal
clear reception of your favourite
radio stations.
On top of the Scansonic R2 is a
single, mono loudspeaker unit.
Although relatively small in physical
size, it has been built to deliver a sonic
performance that is as memorable as
the music itself.

Additional connections include
auxiliary line-in (for an MP3-player),
and a stereo line-out, which can
be used for headphones or external

Sounding great,
all the time
R2 FM radio
Quite literally at the centre of the
R2’s solid cabinet is the loud-
speaker unit. Built with natural
sound reproduction in mind, it fills
the room with sound with ease.
The 3.5” up-firing loudspeaker
provides a full range of sonic
reproduction. The sound image
is warm and rich, never stinging
and shrill. Because unless you’re
a teenager who absolutely has to
play music at the highest volume
possible, you’ll appreciate the R2’s
ability to play thoroughly, even at
low volumes.
The solid MDF-cabinet features an
open, bass-reflex construction.
By adding the bass port, we’re
able to extend the frequency range
lower than a similar, closed-cabinet
construction. Simply put, it gives
you more bass, rounding off your
listening experience.
At the other end of the frequency
range, treble reproduction occurs
faithfully, providing sharp details
that lighten up the entire sound-
scape.
Pop in a pair of headphones and
enjoy listening in full stereo.

Digital audio is now compressed
more efficiently, improving the DAB
standard for everyone. Broadcast-
ers can potentially lower transmis-
sion costs, more stations can be
created on the bandwidth, which in
turn increases the choices avail-
able to the listeners and improves
the listening experience.

This multiple-line display goes
into action when a thin film of
organic compounds is charged
by an electric current.
It emits light, engaging us, inviting
us to step closer, and see what is
going on. Adjustment possibilities
allow you to reduce the brightness
with ease, avoiding unpleasant,
excessively strong lights.
OPERATION
Engage the single, robust dial
during operation. Just follow along
on the display, and use the simple
buttons to make your preferred
selections. Use the autotune
function for DAB+ broadcasts as
well as when making the switch
to traditional FM radio reception.
Straight forward thinking makes it
all even easier.
ALARM
“Wake up slow”, recommends a
popular singer in a jazzy ballad.
And that’s precisely what you can
do with the alarm function in the
R3 radio. Set it to your desired
time - even if it’s really early

The single loudspeaker unit,
located atop the solid cabinet,
offers true-to-life sound
reproduction. Up-firing, it offers
omnidirectional sound,
