Docking Station Alarm Clock for iPod

Safety Information
For stubborn stains, use a soft cloth dampened
with a weak solution of mild detergent and
water. Dry the apparatus immediately afterwards
with a clean cloth. Do not use abrasive clothes,

A. Loading battery for the Remote Control
1. Squeeze and pull to release the battery cover
latch. You can remove the battery door with your
fingernails by using the spaces set back in wall.

mode,"Day of the Week" and "Date and Month"
indicators disappear on the display. Press or
button on the unit to switch between two display

make it glow brighter or dimmer. Three levels of
brightness are provided to match your bedroom
environment.

Notes for the alarm type:
The alarm type can be set to weekday (5/7), everyday (7/7) or weekend (2/7).
a. If 5/7 is set, the alarm sounds from Monday to Friday.
b. If 7/7 is set, it sounds from Monday to Sunday.
c. If 2/7 is set, it sounds from Saturday to Sunday.
Notes for the alarm setting:
It is not necessary to set the "auto mode timing" from 10 to 30 minutes at this point, which
determines the duration of the alarm sound from iPod or FM.
It is not necessary to set the "alarm volume" from 01 to 20 at this point, which determines the
volume level of the alarm sound from iPod or FM.
7. Switch the "ALARM" switch to "BUZZER".
The corresponding bell icon of the set alarm appears on the display.
To check the set time, switch the display to alarm1 or alarm 2 time by pressing the SET button. The
alarm set is now armed.
The buzzer sounds for three minutes.
Notes:
When the alarm is buzzing, the playback of iPod, FM tuner or AUX will be automatically stopped for
the interval, and the playback will be resumed after the alarm is stopped.
If the second alarm sounds when the first alarm is sounding off, the first alarm will be disabled
automatically.

1. Switch to current time display with the SET button if the display is not showing the current time.
2. Hold the SET button. The "year" starts blinking.
3. While blinking, adjust each item with the " " / " " button.
4. Press the SET button to confirm the setting.
Each time you press the SET button, the blinking items changes in the following order.
The time is set when switching to "time display" from "Min.".
AM/PM icon on the display changes according to the current setting hour in 12-hour format.
Weekday icon on the display changes according to the current setting date.

• Hold this button to select the current time/alarm1/alarm2 setting mode.
Change the values for the time setting.
Hold either button to do fast increment/decrement.
Stop the alarm for this time and the alarm will sound at the set time the following day
(according to your set alarm type).
Stop the sleep timer.
Switch the temperature display between Celsius/Fahrenheit.

Setting the Alarms (BUZZER)
The system has two alarms - ALARM 1 and ALARM 2. They can be invoked together or independently.
To set the alarms: (ONLY on the unit)
1. Press the SET button repeatedly to select ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 display.
The ALARM ICON for the chosen alarm(1/2) appears on the display
The last set time of the alarm is displayed. If you have never set the alarm before, the time will be
displayed as 0:00 in 24-hour format.

Selecting the Sound Source
This system enables you to access one of the three basic functions - iPod, FM
Tuner and Aux.
Press SOURCE button repeatedly on the unit or remote control to select one
of the sound sources.
Note: When ALARM-TIMER PLAY is selected, pressing this button has no effect.

Setting the Sleep Timer
Using the sleep timer to stop playing after a certain number of minutes when it is playing. By setting the
sleep timer, you can fall asleep listening to music and know that your system will stop playing by itself
rather than play all night.
You can only set sleep timer when the system is on.
( Using buttons on the unit ONLY )
1. During playing back a source, hold the SNOOZE/SLEEP/ button for seconds.
The SLEEP indicator appears on the display where the letter "S" and sleep time length blink.
2. Use the or button to set the length of minutes you want the source to play before it stops playing.
Press the or button to cycle through the time length options as follows:
3. Press the SET button to confirm. Then, the sleep indicator lights up and the display returns to clock
mode.
When the sleep time arrives, the sleep indicator on the display blinks. The system stops playing.
To Confirm the Sleep Timer:
When the SNOOZE/SLEEP/ button on the unit is pressed for seconds, the remaining sleep time is
displayed. Press the SET button on the unit or wait for 10 seconds to return to clock display.
To Cancel the Sleep Timer
Press the ALARM/SLEEP OFF button on the unit to cancel sleep setting when the system is in sleep mode,
and the system resume the previous mode.
The SLEEP indicator goes out on the display.
Turning off the system also cancels the sleep timer.
Selecting iPod or FM Tuner for the Alarms Sound (TIMER PLAY)
1. Choose either iPod or FM Tuner mode first for alarm sound.
2. Set the alarm(1/2) time.
(See steps 1 to 6 of "To set the alarm (BUZZER)")
You can set the duration of the alarm sound from iPod or FM Tuner from 10 minutes to 30 minutes
in Auto Mode Timing.
Note: The "Auto Mode Timing" can only be set after the alarm type is set.
3. Confirm that you can hear the iPod or FM Tuner.
Set to an appropriate volume with the " " and " " buttons. The default volume level is 10.
4. Switch the alarm switch to "TIMER PLAY". The selected source blinks on the display.
The corresponding bell icon of set alarm appears on the display.
The backlight is off when "TIME PLAY" is set. The backlight is on when the alarm time arrives.
AUX cannot be selected as a source.
If the unit power is off ( but still one lithium coin battery is in it ), the alarm will sound with buzzer
instead of iPod/ FM Tuner sound.
If the current frequency is not presetted, the alarm will be activated by the default preset station
(P01) in factory when you switch the alarm to "TIMER PLAY".

Stopping the Alarm Sound
To pause the alarm (snooze)
Press the SNOOZE/SLEEP/ button while the alarm is sounding, when the alarm is set with either
"BUZZER" or "TIMER PLAY".
The alarm sound is temporarily stopped, and started again 5 minutes later. You can repeat this up to 10
times.
To stop the alarm
Press ALARM SLEEP/OFF button briefly on the unit to stop the alarm for this time when the alarm is
sounding, which is still armed and will sound at the set time the following day (according to your set
alarm type). The set alarm icon on the display is still lit.
Enter alarm setting mode (see "Setting the Alarms" section) and press PRESET or button to switch
from "ON" to "OFF", the set alarm will be cancelled.
Slide the alarm switch to OFF to stop "ALL" alarms, and no alarm will be activated the following day. The
alarm icon(s) on the display goes off on the display.
Note:
When the alarm is sounding, the playback of iPod, FM tuner or AUX will be automatically stopped for
the interval, and the playback will be resumed after the alarm is stopped.

Listening to an iPod
1. Turn the unit power on.
2. Select "iPod" with the SOURCE button.
3. When iPod is selected as sound source, it automatically starts playback.
NOTES
The connector plug is protected with a cover when it is first purchased. Please remove the cover before
operating the unit.
Do not carry the unit with iPod connected. You might drop it down or it might cause damages to the
connector part.
Do not touch or hit the iPod terminal pins or the connector pins directly. It might cause damages to the
connector part.
If the iPod does not play correctly, please update your iPod software to the latest version. - For details about
updating your iPod, check on the Apple web site <http://www.apple.com>.

Sound distortion may occur when playing back audio sources with high recording levels. When distortion
occurs, it is recommended to turn off the equalizer of the iPod. For information on operating the iPod, see
the iPod instruction manual.

Setting the iPod on the Unit
1. Select the dock cradle compatible to your iPod (see "iPod Compatibility Chart").
2. Match the dock cradle tabs to the left and right holes in the unit,
and insert the dock cradle to the unit.

Only iPod mini, nano, nano G2 and Video 30G have their own dock cradles.
Their names are engraved on the right corner of dock cradles. For other iPod
models, combine the dock cradle named "iPod" with the provided rubber pads.
How to combine the rubber pads with the dock cradle
1. There are two sizes of rubber pads: L-size and S-size. Select the appropriate set
of rubber pads for your iPod model (check with "iPod Compatibility Chart").
2. Select the appropriate notches on the dock cradle named "iPod" for the
rubber pads to be inserted. Consider selecting the two notches that match
the width of your iPod model.
3. Insert the narrow ends of rubber pads first.
4. Make sure the rubber pads are inserted into the notches all the way

connector port of the iPod.
Always set volume to the minimum when connecting or
disconnecting the other equipment.
When you connect your iPod to the unit, make sure you insert
it all the way.
When disconnecting the iPod, make sure that the system is
turned off.

Connecting with an External Audio Device
Connect an external device to the AUX jack on the rear of the unit using a stereo mini plug cord (not
supplied) .
Listening to the External Audio Device
1. Turn the unit power on.
2. Select AUX mode with the SOURCE button.
3. Start playback on the external device.
Note: Volume level will be shown on the display all along during the AUX source playback.

Listening to FM Tuner
Stretch out the FM antenna, which is stored inside the battery
compartment for the unit, and locate the wire at the back of the unit
through the small hole of battery cover. You may need to move it
around to get the best reception.
Note: Position the FM antenna as far away as possible from a TV, or
other radiation source.
Activating "U-Pro" Sound Effect

"U-Pro" is a proprietary technology, designed specifically for an ultra-wide sound field for all digital music
systems. With exceptional life-like and natural sound reproduction of high definition and fidelity, this
portable audio system can provide you a superior personal entertainment in listening "High Definition Wide
Stereo" as if you place two speakers at wider remote distance to both sides than that they are actually
located at.
Press "U-Pro" button on the remote control to activate the sound effect. The "U-Pro" mark is displayed.
The U-Pro sound effect does not apply to FM tuner mode.

On the Unit
1. Select FM Tuner mode with the SOURCE button, and switch to channel display (for example, P01 is shown
on the display) with " " button.
2. Use " "/ " " button to select the channel number (P01 to P20) to be set.
3. Press and hold " '', then the channel number starts blinking.
4. Use either of the below methods to tune the desired frequency.
A. Manual Tuning - Briefly press " "/ " " button repeatedly to move frequency to frequency (87.5 MHz
to 108.0 MHz) until you find the desired station.
B. Auto Scanning - Press and hold " "/ " " button until the frequency display starts flashing. The
frequency will be scanned automatically until a station is found.
5. Once the channel number blinks, press " " again to confirm the selection. The selected frequency will
then be stored with the preset channel number.
Note:
To confirm registration, select the saved channel number (P01 to P20), and press " " button to
display frequency.
On the Remote Control
1. Select FM Tuner mode with the SOURCE button.
2. Select a channel number to be set with PRESET / button.
3. Hold the FM MODE button, then channel number starts blinking.
4. Use the "Manual Tuning" or "Auto Scanning" method to tune the desired frequency when the channel
number display switches to the frequency display.
5. Once the channel number blinks, press FM MODE button again to confirm the selection. The selected
frequency will then be stored with the preset channel number.
Presetting Stations
Switch between FM stereo and monaural.
When there is too much static in an FM stereo broadcast, you can
reduce the static by switching to monaural reception. Press again
to switch back to stereo reception.
If the FM signal does not support stereo sound or the signal is not
strong enough, stereo function cannot be activated.

• The FM antenna is not properly extended and positioned.
Place the antenna further away from any equipment that may be causing
the noise or interference.
• When the unit’s battery runs low, the volume level cannot be raised
higher than “08”. Replace the batteries with new ones.

Cannot set the iPod.
Cannot operate iPod.
Cannot output sound.
iPod cannot be charged.
• Is the selected dock cradle compatible to your iPod? Confirm the compatibility
of iPod and dock cradles in "iPod Compatibility Chart".
• Is the dock cradle properly mounted on the unit? Make sure to mount the
dock cradle properly.
