6.ΣΥΝΤΗΡΗΣΗ

Βεαιωθείτε,τι η µπαταρία είναι απσυνδεµένη και πριν αρίσετε να

ειρίεστε τη λεπίδα ράτε πρυλακτικά γάντια.

Για να εασαλίσετε άσιµη λειτυργικτητα για πλύν καιρ,εκτελείτε τατικά την

ακλυθη συντήρηση:

• Ελέγτε τα πρανείς ελαττώµατα,πως είναι ι αλαρωµένες η λαερές

λεπίδες,αλαρωµένη στερέωση και θαρτά η αλασµένα αεσυάρ.

• Ελέγτε εάν τα καλύµµατα και ι πρυλακτικί επλισµί δεν είναι λαερά και

εάν είναι σωστά στερεωµένα.

Συντήρηση της λεπίδας:

• Κατά τ ειρισµ µε τη λεπίδα η τν καθαρισµ της λεπίδας ράτε γάντια.

• Πάντα καθαρίετε την κπτική λεπίδα µετά τη δυλειά και περιπιείστε την µε

λιπαντικ ράντισµα.Εσν δε θα λαδώνετε τη λεπίδα,αυτ θα µπρύσε σαρά

να επηρεάει τη ωτικτητα της µηανής.

• Κατά τ κψιµ διάρκειας άνω των 15 λετών,σας συστήνυµε,να λαδώνετε τη

λεπίδα,µε τ τι θα ελτιωθεί η κπτική ικαντητα και θα παραιτηθεί η ωτικτητα

των µπαταριών.

• Τ λιπαντικ ράντισµα θα πρέπει να τ διαλέγετε µε επιµέλεια,επειδή µερικά

λιπαντικά ραντίσµατα µπρύν να αµηλώσυν τν ρν λειτυργίας έως 60%.

• Πριν τη ρήση:πτικά ελέγτε την κατάσταση των κπτικών ακρών της κπτικής

λεπίδας.Ελέγτε τ σίιµ των ιδών µε τα παιµάδια.

• Εσν δε θα ρησιµπιείτε τη µηανή,εασαλίστε τι η λεπίδα να σκεπαστεί

µε τ πρµηθευµέν κάλυµµα και να είναι λαδωµένη.Εάν δεν θα τ εασαλίσετε,

η λεπίδα θα µπρύσε να σκυριάσει,τ πί σηµαντικά θα ειρτέρευε την

κπτική απδση και τη λειτυργική περίδ των µπαταριών.

Καθαρισµς και απθήκευση

• Πριν την απθήκευση γάλτε η απσυνδέστε τη µπαταρία απ τη µηανή.

Πρσέτε,να µην ραυκυκλώστε τη µπαταρία µε τ άγγιγµα των ακρδεκτών µε

µεταλλικά αντικείµενα.

• Με λεπτή ύρτσα η µε πανί καθαρίστε µε επιµέλεια την εωτερική επιάνεια της

µηανής.Μη ρησιµπιείτε νερ η διαλυτικά µέσα.Εαλείψτε λα τα

απρρίµµατα,πρπαντς απ τις πές αερίσµατς τυ καλύµµατς τυ κινητήρα.

• Πριν την απθήκευση πάντα αλείψτε τη λεπίδα µε πρυλακτικ λιπαντικ

ράντισµα.

• Απθηκεύετε τη µηανή ωντανών ρατών σε ασαλής,ερ τπ,σε εικτή

απσταση των παιδιών.

• Μη τπθετείτε τη µηανή σε άλλα αντικείµενα.

• Η απθήκευση έω σε υγραντικ περιάλλν πως είναι τα κηπευτικά υπστεγα,

µπρύν να πρενήσυν τ σκύριασµα µερικών εαρτηµάτων,πως είναι ι

λεπίδες.

Βγάλσιµ & αλλαγή των λεπίδων & των εαρτηµάτων

Βάση της συγκρτησης τυ πρϊν σας,µπρεί να πρµηθευτεί µε διάρα

εαρτήµατα,τα πία επισυνάπτνται µε τ µηάνηµα.

Βεαιωθείτε,τι η µπαταρία είναι απσυνδεµένη και πριν αρίσετε να

ειρίεστε τη λεπίδα ράτε πρυλακτικά γάντια.

Πρειδπίηση! Άµεσα µετά τ θέρισµα (κψιµ) η πίσω µεριά της

κπτικής λεπίδας θα είναι πλύ καυτή. Πριν ειριστείτε τη λεπίδα ράτε

πρυλακτικά γάντια.

Βγάλσιµ των αεσυάρ της κπτικής λεπίδας (ίδια διαδικασία για τα άλλα

εαρτηµάτων):

• Πατήστε ταυτρνα και τα δυ απελευθερωτικά κυµπιά των εαρτηµάτων.

Safety instructions

• Dispose of plastic bags safely - they are a suffocation hazard for young children.

• Keep the area you are working in clean and tidy.

• Do not use power tools in the rain or wet environments.

• Do not use power tools where there is a risk of fire or explosion - i.e. near flammable liquids

or gases.

• Do not allow children into the area where you are working.

• Do not expose tools to rain.

• Do not let children or other people touch power tools.

• Do not leave the power tool unattended and always remove the battery pack from the

appliance after use.

• Store in a dry place well out of reach of children.

• Always use safety glasses. We also recommend the use of ear protectors.

• Wear the right clothes - not loose fitting or jewellery and ensure garments cannot come

into contact with moving parts.

• Wear non-slip shoes. Do not wear sandals or open-toed shoes.

• Before using any power tool, check first for damaged parts and if found do not use it

before the part or parts have been replaced with new ones.

• Do not use power tools when you are tired or have been drinking alcohol.

• Never carry the tool / charger by the cord or yank it to disconnect it from the socket. Keep

the cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.

• Do not force the appliance - let it work at the rate for which it was intended

• Do not overreach while working - you may lose your balance.

• Never use this appliance without the safety guard fitted. It must always remain fitted.

• Only use spare parts and attachments supplied by Ferm. Use of attachments other than

those supplied or recommended by Ferm will invalidate your guarantee and could be

dangerous.

• Only use this appliance for its intended purpose - trimming grass and light bushes.

Specific safety instructions

• Keep your hands and feet away from the cutting area at all times. Keep your second (front)

hand on the auxilary handle.

• Always hold the trimmer at a safe distance from the body.

• Always wear protective goggles.

• Only use the trimmer in daylight.

• Ensure the ventilation openings are clear of debris at all times.

• Ensure there are no people or animals within 3 metres of your trimming area.

• Ensure that the terminals cannot be shorted by other metal parts such as screws nail etc.

• Before using the trimmer, remove any stones, sticks, toys or other foreign objects from the

area.

• Never reach into the underside of the appliance with the battery pack still attached.

• Keep the cutting tools sharp and clean for better performance. Follow instructions for

lubrication and cleaning accessories. Keep handles dry and clean free from oil and

grease.

• do not carry the trimmer with a finger on the switch.

• The use of any accessory or attachment, other than those recommended in this

instruction manual, may present a risk of personal injury.

• Ensure that the battery pack is correct for the tool.

• Ensure that the outside surface of the battery pack or tool is clean and dry before plugging

into charger.

• Ensure that batteries are charged using the correct charger recommended by the

manufacturer. Incorrect use may result in a risk of electric shock, overheating or leakage

of corrosive liquid from the battery pack.

Should you experience any problems at all with this product or require spare parts,

contact your nearest authorized service centre or dealer.

Safety instructions for the battery charger

The charger is specifically designed for use from a standard domestic electricity supply (230 V

- 240 V). Do not attempt to connect it to any other power supply. Please read and follow the

instructions printed on the charger and battery pack. The battery pack must be charged

indoors only, in a clean dry place.

στην κεαλή.Μλις η λεπίδα θα συναρµστεί στν τπ της,θα τ ακύσετε.

Σύνδεση της ώνης των µπαταριών πρς τη συλλγή µπαταριών

Πριν την πρώτη ρήση ρτίστε τη συλλγή µπαταριών επί 16 ώρες!

• Συνδέστε τη ώνη των µπαταριών έτσι, ώστε τ πλαστικ τµήµα να στρέεται

απ τη συλλγή µπαταριών και η στργγυλή πή στη µέση τυ πλαστικύ

τµήµατς να είναι κάτω.

• Στερεώστε τη θηλιά ψA“ µέσω της πής ψa“, τη θηλιά ψB“ µέσω της πής ψb“

και τη θηλιά ψC“ µέσω της πής ψc“.

• Τραήτε τη ώνη των µπαταριών πρς την άνω κατεύθυνση για τις θηλιές

τσ µακριά, σ θα πάει. Η συλλγή των µπαταριών θα είναι ασαλής

στερεωµένη, ταν η στργγυλη πρεή στην συλλγή µπαταριών θα

εαρµστεί στην στργγυλή πή της ώνης των µπαταριών.

Παρατήρηση: πι ευκλτερς τρπς σιίµατς των συλλγών µπαταριών είναι

να πιαστεί η κνττερη απ τις δυ λωρίδες µε τ αριστερ έρι.Μετά θέστε τη

συλλγή µπαταριών αριστερά και µε τ δεί έρι πιάστε τη µακρύτερη ώνη πίσω στις

πλάτες,τραήτε απ΄ τα δειά µπρστά και µπλκάρετε τη ώνη.

5.ΡΗΣΙΜΠΙΗΣΗ

Ρύθµιση της γωνίας:

• Πιάστε την κεαλή της ρτκπτικής µηανής και πατήστε και κρατήστε τ

κυµπί, στ πί είναι τυπωµέν ψpush“ – πατήστε.

• Ρυθµίστε την κεαλή στην απαιτύµενη γωνία.

• Ελευθερώστε τ κυµπί, µε τ πί θα κλειδώσετε την κεαλή στη ητύµενη

στάση.

Τ µήκς της λαής τυ παρν πρϊν µπρεί να αλλατεί, τ πί σας δίνει τη

δυναττητα να τάσετε σε δύσκλα πρσιτά µέρη δίως ρησιµπίηση κινητής

σκάλας.

• Πιάστε σταθερά της ρτκπτικής µηανής και σηκώστε τν συρτή κάτω στη

λαή.

Μην επιειρήσετε να ρτίσετε τη µπαταρία µε άλλυς ρτιστές,αλλά µν µε τν

ρτιστή πυ συµπαραδίδεται µε τ πρϊν αυτ.Μην πρσπαθήσετε να

απσυναρµλγήσετε τν ρτιστή - αν δεν λειτυργεί,θα πρέπει να τν παραδώσετε

στ πλησιέστερ ευσιδτηµέν κέντρ τενικής υπστήριης για επισκευή.Θα

πρέπει πάνττε να απθηκεύετε τν ρτιστή,τη µπαταρία και τ µηάνηµα σε ένα

ασαλές στεγν µέρς,µακριά απ τα παιδιά.Η θερµκρασία στν ώρ απθήκευσης

δεν θα πρέπει να επερνά τυς 40° C· για τν λγ αυτ ι συσκευές δεν θα πρέπει να

µένυν εκτεθειµένες στ ως τυ ήλιυ πίσω απ τάµια ή να τπθετύνται δίπλα σε

µεταλλικές κατασκευές.

3.ΣΥΛΛΓΗ ΦΡΤΙΣΗΣ ΚΑΙ ΕΠΑΝΑΦΡΤΙΣΗΣ ΤΩΝ ΜΠΑΤΑΡΙΩΝ

Πριν την πρώτη ρήση ρτίστε τη συλλγή µπαταριών επί 16 ώρες!

Συλλγή ρτισης µπαταριών

• Η συλλγή µπαταριών κατά τη ρτιση πρέπει να απσυνδεθύν απ τη

µηανή.

• Απσυνδέστε τη συλλγή µπαταριών στρέντας τ µεταλλικ δατυλίδι

συγκράτησης κατά την κατεύθυνση των ωρδειτών. Μετά µπρεί τ συνδετικ

περίληµα να ααιρεθεί απ τη συλλγή µπαταριών. Πρσθέστε τν

πρµηθευµέν ρτιστή µπαταριών στην πρία της συλλγής µπαταριών,

συνδέστε τν ρτιστή στην παρή τυ ηλεκτρισµύ και άλτε την µπρς.

• Η συλλγή των εντελώς άδειων µπαταριών ρειάεται λκληρες 12 ώρες να

ρτιστεί. Για την τήρηση της συλλγής µπαταριών σε πι καλύτερη κατάσταση

τ καλύτερ είναι να ρτίεται µετά την κάθε ρήση η εάν η µηανή δε

ρησιµπιύταν περισστερ απ 6 µήνες.

Βεαιωθείτε,τι ι διακπτες δεν είναι συνδεµένι στην στάση ψOn“, πριν

συνδέσετε τη συλλγή µπαταριών στη µηανή.

Σηµαντικ! Πτέ µην απθηκεύετε την ρτκπτική µηανή µε τη συλλγή

µπαταριών.Φρτίστε τη συλλγή µπαταριών µετά την κάθε ρήση η µετά

απ κάθε 6 µήνες απθήκευσης.

Παρατήρηση:Η συλλγή µπαταριών δεν θα ηµιωθεί,εάν θα ρτίεται περισστερ

απ 12 ώρες.

4.ΣΥΝΑΡΜΛΓΗΣΗ

Στερεώστε τ πρυλακτικ κάλυµµα της λεπίδας µέσω της πρµηθευµένης ίδας.

Ασαλίστε τ πρυλακτικ κάλυµµα στη συσκευή µέσω σταυρωτύ κατσαιδιύ,µη

σίγγετε πλύ.

Warning! If the battery pack is cracked or damaged or has received a heavy knock

you must not insert it into the charger. There is a risk of electric shock or

electrocution. The battery pack must be replaced and the damaged battery pack

disposed of safely. Ensure the charger and the charger lead is not placed where it

can be tripped over or stepped upon.

Warning! Do not allow liquid of any kind to come into contact with the charger.

There is a risk of electric shock. The battery pack must be completely dry before

being inserted into the charger.

Warning! If under abusive conditions, liquid is ejected from the battery pack, avoid

contact. If this accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes

additionally, seek medical help.

Cleaning

To reduce the risk of electric shock the charger must be unplugged from the power

supply and the battery pack removed before cleaning the charger.

• Allow the battery pack to cool down after use by leaving it in a safe, cool well-ventilated

place out of reach of children.

• Do not attempt to charge the battery pack with any other charger than the one supplied

with this product.

• Do not attempt to dismantle the charger. If it is not working, take it to your nearest

authorized service centre for repair.

• Always store the charger, battery pack and appliance in a safe, dry place out of reach of

children and where the temperature cannot exceed 40 °C (104 °F) e.g. in the open

exposed to direct sunlight under glass or alongside metal fabrications.

3. BATTERY PACK CHARGING AND RECHARGING

Before first use charge the battery pack for 16 hours!

• The battery pack has to be disconnected from the product to charge it.

• To disconnect the battery pack, rotate the metal retaining ring counter-clockwise. The

socket can then be removed from the battery pack.

• Connect supplied battery charger to the socket on the battery pack, plug the

charger into an electrical outlet and switch on.

• The battery pack needs a full 12 hours to charge fully from flat. To keep the battery pack in

top condition it is best to charge the battery pack after each use or if the product is not

used for longer than 6 months.

Ensure the start switches are not in the on position before reconnecting the battery

pack to the product.

Important! Never store the trimmer with a flat battery pack! Charge after every use

and every 6 months of storage.

Note: The battery pack will not be damaged if charged for more then 12 hours.

4. ASSEMBLY

Fitting the blade guard on the trimmer head

Fit the blade guard to the tool, using the screw supplied. Secure the blade guard to the tool

using a cross head screw driver, do not over tighten.

Hook the blade into the bottom rear of the head of the tool and push the blade upwards onto

the bottom of the head. You will hear the blade snap into place.

Fitting the battery belt to the battery pack

Before first use charge the battery pack for 16 hours!

• Fit the battery belt so the plastic part curves away from the battery pack and with the

round hole in the centre of the plastic part in the bottom.

• Fit tab “A” through hole “a”, tab “B” through hole “b” and tab “C” through “c”.

• Push the battery belt upwards behind the tabs as far as it will go. The battery pack will be

securely attached if the round protrusion on the battery pack fits in the round hole on the

battery belt.

Note: The easiest way to strap the battery pack round your waist is to grab the shorter of the

two belt straps with your left hand. Then put the battery pack to your left side and with your

right hand take the longer of the two straps behind your back, bring it round your right side to

the front and lock the belt.

• Grip the head of the trimmer and press and hold the button which has the word “push”

printed on it.

Εάν αντιµετωπίσετε πιδήπτε πρληµα µε τ πρϊν αυτ ή εάν

ρειάεστε ανταλλακτικά,σας παρακαλύµε να έρθετε σε επαή µε τ

ε$υσιδτηµέν κέντρ τενικής υπστήρι$ης ή µε τν αντιπρσωπ της

περιής σας.

Πρειδπιήσεις ασαλείας για τν ρτιστή της µπαταρίας

 ρτιστής έει σεδιαστεί ειδικά ώστε να ρησιµπιείται τρδτύµενς απ

µια συνήθη ικιακή ηλεκτρική εγκατάσταση (230 - 240 volt).Μην πρσπαθήσετε να τν

συνδέσετε σε πιαδήπτε άλλη πηγή τρδσίας ηλεκτρικύ ρεύµατς.Σας

παρακαλύµε πριν απ τη ρήση να διαάσετε και να ακλυθήσετε τις δηγίες πυ

αναγράνται στν ρτιστή και στη µπαταρία.

Η µπαταρία θα πρέπει να ρτίεται µν σε εσωτερικύς ώρυς - σε έναν καθαρ και

στεγν σηµεί.

Πρειδπιηση! ∆εν θα πρέπει να άετε τη µπαταρία στν ρτιστή εάν η

µπαταρία έει κάπια ρωγµή,θρά ή λάη, ή εάν έει υπστεί κάπι

• Release the button to lock the head in your selected position.

The handle length on this product can be varied, allowing you to reach difficult places without

the use of a ladder.

• Grip the trimmer firmly and lift the latch on the lower handle.

• Extend the handle to the required length.

• Press the lever firmly down again to lock the handle.

Starting & stopping

The handle of this product is designed for 2 handed operation as a safety measure to prevent

accidental starting.

Make sure all moving parts ie blades are at a safe distance from all body parts and

bystanders.

To start the trimmer:

• Press and hold the rear trigger switch.

• Press and hold either the middle or the front switch. Either switch may be used, whichever

is the most comfortable or convenient.

To stop the trimmer:

• Release any switch and the tool will stop.

Note: the blades will continue to move for a fraction of a second after releasing the trigger

Select the blade suitable for your task

• The hedge trimmer blade is best for larger hedges and bushes.

• The branch cutter can be used to saw small branches.

Warning! Hold the machine properly with both hands. Beware of kick back.

Depending on the configuration of your product, it may come supplied with different

accessories which can be fitted on the tool.

Make sure the battery is disconnected and wear protective gloves before handling

the blade.

Warning! Immediately after cutting the back of the cutting blade may be very hot.

Wear protective gloves before handling the blade.

To remove the cutting blade attachment (same procedure for other accessories):

• Press both attachment release buttons at the same time. Be careful not to drop the blade

when doing this.

Tips on cutting

• Hold the tool away from yourself using both hands. Stand in a secure and stable position.

• When cutting move steadily along the line of cut, so that the stems are fed directly into the

cutter blades. The double edge cutting blade enables cutting in either a side to side action

or an up and down motion.

• Cut the sides of the hedge first then cut the top.

• To keep the sides flat, cutting upwards with the growth is recommended. To reach a level

finish, fasten a piece of string along the length of the hedge cut the hedge just above the

string to give an even height.

• Always take care to avoid cutting into objects such as wire, which could cause damage to

the cutting blades and drive.

Shaping

The hedge should be trimmed to achieve a trapezoidal shape, which is wider at the bottom

than the top.This will improve the light penetration to the lower region of the shrub. An

approximate guide is 10 cm in for every metre in height. The bush can be rounded or column

shaped.

Cutting sequence

• First trim both sides from the bottom upwards, this prevents any debris from falling into

the area which has yet to be cut.

• Then trim the top, if the branches of the hedge are extremely long, trim them back in

multiple stages.

Note: Doing this also has the benefit of having shorter cutting which will decompose better on

a compost heap.

• If older hedges need to be cut back a substantial amount, use pruning shears to trim

thicker branches to the desired length before going to work with the hedge trimmer.

• Ensure that the blade does not come into contact with anything which could damage it,

such as fencing wire or metal plants support.

After use

Clean the blades and lightly lubricate with household oil or spray lubricant.

6. MAINTENANCE

Make sure the battery is disconnected and wear protective gloves before handling

the blade.

To ensure long and reliable service, carry out the following maintenance regularly:

• Check for obvious defects such as loose, dislodged or damaged blades, loose fixings and

worn or damaged components.

• Check that covers and guards are undamaged and correctly fitted.

Blade maintenance:

• Wear gloves when handling or cleaning the cutting blade.

• Always clean the cutting blade after operation and coat it with a lubricating spray. A Lack

of lubrication to the blade can severely effect the products run time.

• During longer cutting periods 15 minutes or greater it is recommended to lubricate the

blade, this will improve cutting performance and extend the batteries run time.

• Careful selection of the spray should be taken as some lubricants may reduce run times

by up to 60%.

• Before use: Visually check the condition of the cutting edges of the cutting blade. Check

the tightness of blade bolts

• When not in use ensure that the blade is covered with the blade guard provided and that it

has been lubricated. Failure to do so may cause the blade to corrode and will severely

reduce cutting performance and battery run times.

Cleaning and storage

• Remove or disconnect the battery from the tool during storage. Take care not to short the

battery contact terminals with metal objects.

• Clean the exterior of the machine thoroughly using a soft brush and cloth. Do not use

water or solvents. Remove all debris especially from the ventilation slots on the motor

housing.

• Always lubricate the cutting blade with protective spray before storage.

• Store the hedge cutter in a secure, dry place out of reach of children.

• Do not place other objects on top of the machine.

• Storage outside in a damp environment such as a garden shed may cause certain items

such as the blades to corrode.

Faults

Should a fault occur, e.g. after wear of a part, please contact the service address on the

warranty card. In the back of this manual you find an exploded view showing the parts that can

be ordered.

Environment

To prevent damage during transport, the appliance is delivered in a solid packaging which

consists largely of reusable material. Therefore please make use of options for recycling the

packaging.

Faulty and/or discarded electrical or electronic apparatus have to be collected at

the appropriate recycling locations.

Warranty

The warranty conditions can be found on the separately enclosed warranty card. Wear of the

hedge trimmer is not covered by the warranty.
