Introduction:
This document provides step-by-step instructions on how to replace a cable in an FSN-150.
Upgrade Instructions:
Step 1: Before beginning any work, ensure the product is functioning properly. If the unit is not
working as intended, determine if you want to perform this rework yourself. If not, request an
RMA and send the unit back when desired. Begin by turning the console off and
unplugging the power cord from the back of the unit. Next wear a wrist grounding
strap to prevent ESD damage.
Step 2: Check all parts in the upgrade kit to ensure that you have received all required
components.
Step 3: Place the FSN-150 console on a clean, static-free surface.
Step 4: Open the wrist rest by gently pulling on the left and right sides. There is a ball stud
which snaps into a retaining clip. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the three screws holding
the console closed as they are underneath the wrist rest. Set the screws aside for later re-
assembly.

open.

If the connector looks like Figure 5 above then it does need to be replaced in the unit.
Step 7: If it is determined that the cable needs to be changed, move on to step 8.
Step 8: Locate the two cables on the cover of the unit. Unplug the existing cable connected to
the main keyboard and the custom panel. Next unplug the existing cable connected to the main
keyboard and the transition panel. Both of these cables will not be needed again.

Step 9: Install the two cables provided in this kit in the locations shown in Figure 6. Verify both
cables are securely fastened onto the main keyboard and onto both of the panels.
Step 10: Unsecure the console support bar from the console cover and lower it onto the retaining
clip located on the base. Verify the bar is securely fastened to the retaining clip. Close the
console cover, and secure it using all 3 screws from step 4.

Step 11: Turn on the FSN-150 and ensure proper operation by performing diagnostic test.
