2. Intended purpose
The Body Groomer is intended exclusively for cutting hu-
man body hair (not including the head, neck and face).
The device is designed for private, domestic use. The de-
vice must only be used indoors.
This device must not be used for commercial purposes.
Foreseeable misuse

~Do not use the device to cut artificial hair or animal
hair.
TIP: do not use the device for cutting head hair or beard
hair. You will not achieve a satisfactory result.

cribs, beds, carriages, or playpens. This bag is not a

Risk from batteries
~If the safety instructions are not followed, batteries can

fore you should store batteries out of the reach of

~It is only permitted to charge batteries that are marked
“rechargeable”.
~Avoid short-circuiting the batteries with metal objects
such as e.g. rings, coins, bracelets or keys. Short-cir-
cuited batteries and the conductive objects can over-
heat and cause burns.
~Be sure to observe the correct polarity when inserting
the batteries. Replace only with the same or an equiva-
lent type.
~Clean the contacts of the batteries and device before
inserting the batteries.
~Always remove used batteries from the device immedi-
ately, since these may leak and therefore cause dam-
age.
~Remove the batteries from the device if you intend not
to use it for an extended period of time. The batteries
may leak and damage the device.
~Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not subject bat-
teries to extreme conditions, place them on radiators
or expose them to direct sunlight. Otherwise, there is
an increased danger of batteries leaking.
~If battery acid has leaked, avoid contact with the skin,
eyes and mucous membranes. In case of contact with
the acid, rinse the affected area at once with plenty of

or blisters.
Risk of material damage
~Do not apply excessive pressure on the shaving foil|6
of the shaver head|9. It is thin and can easily be dam-
aged.
~Only use the cleaning brush for cleaning the cutter
block|13. Under no circumstances should it be used to
clean the shaving foil|6. Bristles could get caught in
the shaving foil and damage it.
~To avoid any risk, do not make modifications to the de-
vice. Repairs must be carried out by a specialist work-
shop or the Service Center.

5. Inserting/replacing the battery
Risk from batteries
~Be sure to observe the polarity (+/-) when inserting the
batteries.
~Only use the battery type specified in the technical da-
ta.
~Always remove used batteries immediately, as these
could leak and therefore cause damage. Always dis-
pose of the old batteries according to regulations.
~Remove the battery if the device is not going to be
used for an extended period of time.
TIP: when the motor of the device becomes slower and the
cutting performance deteriorates, replace the battery.
1. Switch off the device with the on/off switch|3 if neces-
sary.
2. Figure B: rotate the battery compartment cover|5 so
that the arrow of the battery compartment lock|4
points to the open lock symbol .
3. Remove the battery compartment cover|5.
4. Remove the empty battery|12, if appropriate, and dis-
pose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
5. Insert the new battery (type AA, 1.5 V)|12 into the
battery compartment with the (+)-pole first, corre-
sponding to the marking on the battery compartment.

6. Replace the battery compartment cover|5 so that the
arrow of the battery compartment lock|4 points to the
open lock symbol .
7. Applying light pressure, rotate the battery compart-
ment cover|5 so that the arrow points to the closed
lock symbol .
6. Operation
6.1 Replacing the blade head
The device is supplied with two different blade heads:
The trimmer head|1 is used with two different attach-
ments for trimming body hair to 0.12 in. (using the
3 mm attachment|10) or 0.02 in. (using the 0.5 mm
attachment|11).
The shaver head|9 is used for smooth shaving of body
hair.
1. Switch off the device with the on/off switch|3 if neces-
sary.
2. Figure A: rotate the trimmer head|1
/ shaver head|

so that the arrow of the lock|2 points to the open lock
symbol .
3. Remove the trimmer head|1 / shaver head|9.
4. Place the desired blade head (trimmer head|1 or
shaver head|9) so that the arrow points to the open
lock symbol .

5. Rotate the blade head (1/9) so that the arrow points
to the closed lock symbol .
6.2 Changing attachments for the trimmer
head
Risk of injury
~Never use the trimmer head|1 without attachment|10/
11.
~Do not use the device if parts are damaged.
Use the 3 mm attachment|10 to trim hair to a length of
0.12 in., or as a preparation for longer hair (longer
than 0.8 in.).
Using the 0.5 mm attachment|11, you achieve a hair
length of approx. 0.02 in.
1. Figure C: remove any attachment|10/11 currently
in place by gripping it from the sides and carefully
pulling it off the trimmer head|1.
2. Figure D: place the desired attachment|10/11 onto
the trimmer head|1 in such a way that the two arrows
on the attachment|10/11
and trimmer head|
1 point at
one another, and carefully press the attachment|10/
11 down until it clicks into place.

6.3 Trimming
Risk of injury
~Do not use the device if parts are damaged.
~Do not use the device on open wounds, cuts, sunburn
or blisters.
TIPS:
The device can be used on either dry or wet skin. You
will achieve the best results if the hair is dry when
trimmed.
Stretch sensitive areas of skin during trimming.
Do not apply strong pressure.
1. Place the trimmer head|1 onto the device.
2. Switch on the device with the on/off switch|3.
3. Figure E: move the trimmer head|1 with the attach-
ment|10/11 flat against the skin, always holding the
device at a 45° angle. Move the device slowly
against the direction of hair growth. You can move
the device in both directions (forwards and back-
wards).
4. Press the on/off switch|3 again to switch the device
off again.

6.4 Shaving
Risk of injury
~Do not use the device if parts are damaged.
~Do not use the device on open wounds, cuts, sunburn
or blisters.
Risk of material damage
~Do not apply excessive pressure on the shaving foil|6
of the shaver head|9. It is thin and can easily be dam-
aged.
TIPS:
The device is suitable for both dry and wet shaving.
You will achieve the best results with dry hair.
For wet shaving, never use additional products such as
shaving foam or soap lather, shaving gel or shaving
cream. You will impair the result, and may clog the
shaver head|9.
Stretch sensitive areas of skin during shaving.

Initial use may cause temporary irritation or redness of
the skin, as the skin has to adjust to shaving. This is
normal and usually lasts between 2 to 4 weeks.
1. Place the shaver head|9 onto the device.
2. Switch on the device with the on/off switch|3.
3. Hold the shaver head|9 at a right angle to the skin
surface and guide it over your skin without pressure.
Move the device slowly against the direction of hair
growth. You can move the device in both directions
(forwards and backwards).
4. Press the on/off switch|3 again to switch the device
off again.
7. Cleaning and maintenance of the
device
Risk of material damage
~Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.
TIP: to ensure good cutting performance and prevent
pinching, the device must be cleaned and maintained reg-
ularly.
