Troubleshooting Guide
Before you call for help, please read the following:
WARNING Brew probes are sharp. To prevent injury, do not place fingers inside the brew chamber. To
reduce foreign material from entering the brewer, keep brew chamber and reservoir lids closed.
Problem Possible Cause Solution
No power
Verify unit is plugged into a 120V/15 amp
rated outlet and power switch is in the ON
position.
Message to refill water tank (Pour Over model ONLY)
Add water to proper level on reservoir.
(Auto-Fill model ONLY)
Make sure that the water shut off valve is
opened. Turn brewer off and restart, using
power switch at rear of brewer.
Brew volume is less than normal
Adjust volume of beverage on screen. If
error persists, perform descaling procedure.
Water drips from machine when
not brewing
Ensure reservoir tank is not filled above
maximum fill level. Perform descaling
procedure. Call service technician.
Water drips from machine (Pour
Over model ONLY)
If Pour Over model, ensure the water inlet
valve is capped with the cap that has been
provided with the brewer.
Water leaks from machine while
brewing
Remove drain tube cover and verify that
the drain line is properly plugged.
Red light flashes continuously
Turn off power button for 5 seconds. If it
continues to flash, contact service
technician.
Will not sense unit is primed Water conductivity is too low for level
sensing circuit
Do not use Reverse Osmosis, Deionized, or
distilled water.
Unit overheats or boils Temperature setpoint is too high
Reduce temperature setpoint 10 degrees
and re-check.
Capsule ruptures Clogged outlet probe
Clean outlet probe with a paper clip and
rinse thoroughly. Follow Probe Cleaning
instructions in Cleaning and
Maintenance section.
Faulty capsule seals
Determine if isolated to specific product
capsules. Change brand if needed.
Do not use capsule brands which are prone
to rupture.
Water temperature too high for filter
paper
Reduce water temperature setting by at
least 10 degrees.
Capsule holder is not snapped into tray
correctly
Ensure capsule holder is completely
snapped into tray.
Chamber cover was opened and closed
without changing the capsule
Check for torn capsule foil where probe
punctures foil. Avoid opening and closing
chamber cover to prevent double
puncturing of capsules.
Large coffee capacity capsules swell
and rupture on large volume setting
Remove large volume setting from menu.
Prevent usage of troublesome capsules.
Water drips from brew chamber
area while brewing
Water is leaking from inlet seal
Ensure upper inlet seal pad is installed
correctly.
Display indicates replace reservoir Reservoir not installed correctly
Ensure reservoir is installed flush to left
side of brewer to ensure engagement of
presence switch.
Display indicates low or no water Missing level float in reservoir
Replace float in reservoir.
Water supply turned off to machine
Restore water supply to machine.
Machine is awaiting manual refill
Refill reservoir manually.
