Rear-facing recline adjustment:
- For rear-facing use, the car seat must be properly reclined.
Check recline angle of car seat. Rear-facing reference line on
side of seat MUST be horizontal (fig. b). If reference line is not
horizontal, place recline adjustment pad, tightly rolled up towel,
blanket or firm foam (pool noodle) under end of car seat base
contacting vehicle seat back (fig. b).
If car seat can not be adjusted to make reference line horizontal:
1. Try a different seating position.
2. Do not use this car seat.
NOTE: Vehicle must be parked on horizontal surface and child
in car seat when checking angle of car seat.
- For forward-facing, recline adjustment is not required.
Do not use recline adjustment pad or any other padding under
the base. Remove padding if it was used for rear-facing.
Installation with a vehicle lap and shoulder belt:
- Position the lap portion of the vehicle lap and shoulder
belt into the red belt path channel (fig. c).
NOTE: The vehicle lap belt will roll or fold over and
will not lay flat in the belt channel. This is
normal and will not affect performance.
- Hold shoulder belt down into red belt path channel and
rotate car seat into forward-facing position making sure
shoulder belt does not get caught by rotating seat.
See “Changing Car Seat Use Position” section.
NOTE: For lap and shoulder belt systems with shoulder belt that is switchable from an emergency
locking shoulder belt to a locking shoulder belt, DO NOT switch the shoulder belt into the
locking mode at this time.
