Toro Rear Deflector Kit, TimeCutter ZD Series Riding Mower mounts to the back of the heat shield, preventing grass clippings and debris from being discharged toward the operator. Its easy installation process includes removing the collection bag, installing the deflector locking pins, and finally securing the deflector. Removing the Collection

Procedure
T he collection bag is retained in the engine co v er
b y seating the lev er side pin into a holed brac k et in
the right hand side of the engine co v er . R emo v e it
as follo ws:
1. P ark the mac hine on a flat, lev el surface , stop
the engine , remo v e the k ey , and w ait for all
mo ving par ts to stop .
2. Raise the bag up and first lift the pin in the
open notc h up and a w a y from the hood. T hen
slide the lev er side pin out the brac k et until the
bag is clear of the mac hine ( Figure 1 ).

Procedure
With the pins facing outw ard, install the deflector
loc king pins to the bac k of the heat shield using 4
flang e-head bolts , as illustrated in Figure 2 .

Installing the Deector

Procedure
1. Seat the right-hand pin located on top of the
deflector into the hole on top of the engine
hood, and then seat the opposing pin into the
notc h on the top of the engine hood ( Figure 3 )

2. Swing the deflector do wn and pull the sides
outw ard slightly , inser ting the deflector loc king
pins through the holes in the sides of the
deflector ( Figure 4 ).

3. Secure the deflector to the loc king pins using
tw o hair pin cotters ( Figure 4 ).
