Troubleshooting Guide SI-PEX40062
Frequent Issues
Size Issues
Ensure that the card is connected to the right port. Since it is a PCI-e x2 Card, it needs a slot larger than
PCIe x1. See Diagram Below. It will not fit in PCIe x1 unless it has a cutout(at which point it’ll operate at
lower speeds).
Card Doesn’t Show Up
This could be caused by a couple of reasons.
1. Drivers. Please ensure the drivers are correctly installed. If you are missing the drivers, you can
acquire them at http://www.sybausa.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=157
under the Download Tab
2. Card is not inserted correctly/is in the wrong slot. This card can slide into PCI slots(see above).
However, it will not make proper contact and not function. It could also fail to appear if it is not
pressed in all the way. Ensure that the card is connected correctly.
If the card is inserted correctly, but not appearing in Windows, try booting to BIOS and see if the
card appears. If it does, the issue lies within Windows. If not, there may be an issue with the card or
installation.
Issues with Drives Connecting
Ensure that the Hard Drive is functioning. See if it can be connected to from other ports on
the computer.
Ensure the SATA cable isn’t Faulty. Test the drive with another cable
Ensure the drivers are all installed and up to date.
