Comnet C1 is a card cage power supply designed to be installed in the Comnet C1 Card Cage. It provides an automatic electronic current limiting feature that shuts down only the faulty module in case of a major fault, allowing other modules within the rack to continue operating. This feature is self-resetting in case of temporary or intermittent faults. The C1PS has a detachable IEC-connected AC line cord for easy field replacement or exchange for various AC power plug configurations. It has LED indicators for power status and a spare 1.25A slow-blow fuse for added protection.

C1PS
CARD CAGE POWER SUPPLY
The C1PS integral 115/230 VAC power supply provides for the elimination of a
single-point failure in the event of a major fault within any module located within
the C1 chassis rack, through the use of automatic electronic current limiting within
each rack-mountable module.
In the C1PS design only the faulty module shuts down, and the operation of the
other modules within the rack continue unimpaired. This automatic current limiting
feature is also self-resetting, should the fault or overload be of a temporary or
intermittent condition.
The C1PS is intended to be installed in the Comnet C1 Card Cage only. Any other
applications are not supported. See Page 4 for installation instructions.

MECHANICAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS
This power supply is supplied as a Rack module only. Units should be
installed in dry locations protected from extremes of temperature and
humidity.
C1-US, C1-EU, C1-AU OR C1-CH CARD CAGE RACKS
CAUTION: Before installing, be sure that the power supply is turned off
and that the rack power supply is disconnected from any power source.
1. Make sure that the power supply is oriented right side up, and slide it
into the card guides in the rack until the power supply’s front panel sits
flush against the front of the card cage.
CAUTION: Take care not to press on any of the LEDs.
2. Tighten the two thumb screws on the card until the front panel of the
power supply is seated against the front of the rack.
3. Connect the wires to the Electrical Connector on the back of the C1 Card
Cage. Connect supplied AC Line Cord to power connector in the rear of
the power supply.
WARNING: Unit is to be installed only in the C1 ComNet Card Cage.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS:
A) Elevated Operating Ambient - If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack
assembly, the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may
be greater than room ambient. Therefore, consideration should be given to
installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the maximum
ambient temperature (Tma) specified by the manufacturer.
B) Reduced Air Flow - Installation of the equipment in a rack should be such
that the amount of air flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not
compromised.
