Important safety information
Follow the safety information in the operating instructions for your
tumble dryer. If necessary, take into consideration the advice of your
local chimney sweep or of local authorities.
• The dryer must not be installed in a room where the temperature can
fall below zero or is higher than + 35°C.
• The dryer must be positioned horizontally.
If the appliance is installed near a gas, coal or electric heater, an insu-
lating not-inflammable panel must be inserted between the dryer
and the heater (size: 85x57.5 cm).
The dryer’s exhaust must not be fed into a cooker hood, or a chimney or
flue pipe designed to carry the exhaust from a fuel burning appliance.
For correct ventilation of the room, avoid the formation of low pressure.

Venting without a vent hose
Moist air must be able to flow freely from the tumble dryer. The most
efficient way of venting the expelled air is to the outside, by means of
a vent hose. The vent hose (2.50 m long, 100 mm diameter) is supplied
with the appliance.
If the hose is not connected to the tumble dryer, the air can be expelled
directly into the room in which it is installed, providing the following pre-
cautions are taken:
The machine must be installed so that there is a distance of at least
30 cm between the vent outlet used and the wall or any other object.
Vent outlets that are at less than 30 cm from a wall or another object
must be sealed using the covers supplied. At least one outlet must
always be open.
While the machine is running, make sure that the room is very well
ventilated and fluff free.
Venting through a vent hose
The exhaust air can be vented through the vent hose supplied with the
appliance, ending either temporarily at an open window, or permanently
at a fixed ventilation grille, fitted to an exterior wall or window.
To simplify installation, there is a choice of vent outlets: one at the back
and one on each side.

Tumble dryer vent outlets
Connect the hose to whichever is the more convenient by pulling the ring
nut (A) from the vent outlet at the back, screwing it onto the hose and push-
ing it firmly back into place.
The unused vents should now be sealed with the special snap cover provided.
Once connected to the dryer, run the hose to the desired outlet point, en-
suring that it contains no more than two bends. As to the outlet itself, if you
have decided on a fixed wall/window grille, a good local builder’s merchant should
be able to supply you with the necessary fittings and installation advice.
It is important not to connect the hose to, for example, a cooker hood, or a chim-
ney or flue pipe designed to carry the exhaust from a fuel burning appliance.
Note that to avoid condensation problems, it is essential that the dryer be
fitted with vent hose to carry its «exaust» at least beyond the kitchen units;
preferable outside the kitchen.
In order to prevent the appliance from overheating, it is important that the
steam exhaust is unobstructed.
Therefore, in case of a permanent hose fitted to an exterior wall or ceiling,
it must be ensured an exhaust capacity of at least 150 m
3
/h.
Ensure the vent hose is not squashed. The drying efficiency of the tumble
dryer will be affected and may cause the safety cut outs to operate.
