± Remove all packing materials from shredder.

± Place shredder on a ﬂat level surface. Securely seat the shredder head (1) on the paper bin (2).

NOTE: for safety reasons the shredder will not power on unless the shredder head is seated

properly on the paper bin and the red lockout key is inserted into the lockout key slot.

± Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated

the product.

± If any parts are damaged or missing, please call 1-866-540-8799 for assistance.

UNPACKING

± Retirer tout le matériel d’emballage du déchiqueteur.

± Mettre le déchiqueteur sur une surface plane. Bien placer la tête du déchiqueteur (1) sur la

± This shredder is intended for indoor use

only.

± Shredder should never be placed near

water, over a radiator, or near a heat

± Do not use this product if it or the cord has

been damaged in any way. (See Power

Cord Care.)

± Do not service this product yourself. Do

not open the cover for any reason. Doing

so can expose you to dangerous voltages

and will void your warranty.

± Make sure the shredder is plugged into an

easily accessible wall outlet.

± Always turn off the shredder by unplugging

the machine before moving, cleaning,

or any other conduct other than normal

operation.

± This shredder should be used only with an

operator in attendance. Keep shredder in

the OFF\O position and unplug from the

AC outlet when not in use for an extended

period of time.

± Avoid shredding envelopes, labels, or

anything with glue or adhesives — this will

lead to paper jams.

POWER CORD CARE

± Operate shredder from the power source

indicated on the serial label. If you are

unsure of the power source, consult your

dealer or local power company.

± Since the power cord serves as the

disconnect switch, make sure the shredder

is plugged into an easily accessible wall

outlet. The power cord cannot be replaced.

If the power cord is damaged, the shredder

should be discarded.

± Do not rest anything on the power cord.

± Do not place machine where persons may

trip over or walk on the power cord.

± If an extension cord is used, make sure that

the total ampere ratings of the products

plugged into the extension cord do not

exceed the extension cord ampere rating,

and that the total of all products plugged

into the wall outlet does not exceed 15

amp.

± Do not pick the unit up by the power cord.

± NEVER insert hand or ﬁngers into

feed opening.

Keep eyes protected from opening.

± Keep children and pets away from

shredder AT ALL TIMES.

± Keep personal and loose objects

(jewelry, ties, long hair, etc.) away

from entry.

± Never use ﬂammable, petroleum-

based, canned air, or aerosol

cleaners on this product. Some

agents may combust, causing

serious injury. Use only recommended

lubricant in a non-aerosol container

(see Maintenance).

CAUTION:

± Never allow children to operate

paper shredder, even under adult

supervision. Paper shredders

can pull children’s ﬁngers into the

shredder mechanism.

± Intended for personal use up to

100 uses per day.

± Do not exceed recommended

sheet capacity.

± Make sure to periodically empty

the paper bin to avoid overloading

the bin and damaging the cutting

mechanism.

± Do not shred plastic (except credit cards),

continuous forms, adhesive labels,

transparencies, newsprint, or cardboard.

± Do not shred paper clips or other hard

materials.



SHREDDING:

± To shred a CD, DVD or credit card: insert

through the designated slot (7).

± Empty paper bin (2) (ref page 3) frequently

to avoid jams.

± The bin full light (8) will flash when the

paper bin is full. To empty turn shredder

OFF\O and lift shredder head (1) (ref

page 3) by handles to remove from paper

bin (2) (ref page 3).

For the safety of children and pets, always

move the power switch to OFF\O, remove

the red lockout key and unplug the shredder

when it is unattended or not in use.

CLEARING A JAM:

Shredder will automatically stop and the power

indicator (4) will ﬂash when a jam occurs.

To clear jam:

± If shredder jams while in forward (AUTO),

move switch

to reverse (REV) position.

Grasp excess paper and pull out.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Be careful not to place your hands near

the feed opening to prevent any injuries.

± If the shredder jams while in reverse (REV),

move switch

(3)

to forward (AUTO) position

and let shredder run for about ﬁve seconds.

If jam does not clear, move switch

(3)

REV position and run for ﬁve seconds.

Repeat this procedure until jam is cleared.

If the jam cannot be cleared following this

procedure, unplug the unit and carefully

remove the jammed paper manually.

OVERHEATING

The overheat light

(9)

will ﬂash to signal the

shredder has shred continuously beyond the

maximum running time of 6 minutes and the unit

will automatically shut off. Unplug the unit and

wait about 90 minutes. Plug the unit back into

a grounded electrical outlet and resume normal

operation.

Make sure to periodically empty the paper bin

to avoid overloading the bin and damaging the

cutting mechanism.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Shredder lubricants are recommended for your

shredder and will lengthen the lifespan of your

machine. Apply lubricants after 30 minutes of

shredding or a minimum of twice per month to

eliminate build-up on your shredder’s cutting

heads and allow your machine to run at

maximum performance.

Staples the Ofﬁce Superstore, LLC (“Staples”), warrants to the original purchaser that this Staples

brand shredder shall be free

of defects in design, assembly, material, or workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase. Staples will repair any defective

Staples

brand shredder or replace any defective Staples

brand shredder with the same or equivalent product free of charge, at

Staples’ option.

This warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at Staples option, of defective parts. The purchaser is responsible for all shipping

charges to return the machine to Staples after Staples has approved for the machine to be returned. The shredder must be sent

with the original sales receipt to the address provided by product support. No shredder will be accepted without ﬁrst obtaining a

Return Authorization Number from Staples customer service. Customer accepts all responsibility for the proper packaging as well

as any and all damage resulting from shipping.

To claim your repair or replacement under this warranty, contact product support at 1-866-540-8799.

This warranty does not apply to normal wear or damage from misuse, abuse, improper storage and handling, installation, accident,

repair or alteration, ﬁre, negligence, improper cleaning or other circumstances not directly attributable to manufacturing defects.

This warranty does not apply if the product has been used pursuant to any verbal or written rental, lease or loan agreement, or to

modiﬁcations of the product, attachments to the products not approved by Staples, or to shredders that were not installed, used

or maintained in accordance with product instructions and warnings. THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHERS,

WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. STAPLES SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES,
