Your VW Touareg Navigation System is
operated using the following buttons.
A POWER/VOLUME knob is a dual
function button. Volume is regulated by
turning the knob to the left or right.
Depressing the power knob supplies
power to the navigation unit.
B MENU button is used to scroll clock-
wise and counterclockwise through
display menus and sub-menus.
Depressing the menu button finalizes
your selection.
C The NAVI hard key is used to call up
the main navigation menu.
D The MAP hard key is used to display
the map for navigation purposes.
When pressed consecutively the
display switches between map display
and turn-by-turn display.
E The ESC hard key returns the user to
the previous screen.
F The FLAG hard key stores the
current location of the vehicle.
G The ROUTE EXCLUSION hard
key enables the user to exclude certain
sections in a route list or to enter slow
moving traffic information manually.
H Left and right soft keys have different
functions depending on the menu being
shown in the display.
Touareg Navigation System Features
Address Selection – Enables you to
search and route to a specific address.
Automatic Rerouting – Recalculates
your route automatically if you make
a wrong turn or detour from the pro-
grammed route.
Coord Destination – Enables you to
search and route to a specific destination
by selecting longitude and latitude
coordinates.
Demo – Simulates your drive, turn-by-turn,
using map and icon display.
Destination on Map – Enables you to
search and route to a specific destination
selected from the map.
Dual Map Screen – As you approach
a maneuver, the navigation system auto-
matically displays turn-by-turn information
on the map display screen. The turn-by-
turn guidance is displayed in the left-hand
corner of the map display screen.
Flagged Destination – Enables you to
store current vehicle location.
Intersection Selection – Enables you to
search and route to a specific intersection.
Map/Turn-by-Turn – Enables you to
view either map or turn-by-turn screen
by pressing the MAP hard key. Turn-by-
turn displays a guidance arrow and a
proximity bar – the proximity bar illustrates
the distance to the next maneuver.
Map Display – Enables you to choose
between map display types. Map display
can be viewed as north facing or in the
direction of travel.
Previous Destination – Enables you to
view and route to your last 14 destinations.
Route Exclusion – Enables you to
manually exclude sections of your journey.
Route List – Compiles a list of all route
sections to be navigated between current
location and selected destination.
Route Options – Enables you to specify
driving parameters that will be taken into
consideration during route calculation.
Points of Interest (POIs) Selection –
Enables you to search and route to/from
a list of ATMs, hotels, restaurants, etc.
Stopover – Enables you to specify
locations or stopovers you will navigate to
en route to your final destination.
Voice Guidance – Audible directions
alert you to your next maneuver.
Zoom – Enables you to choose from a
total of 13 different scales of map
magnification.

With your new VW Touareg you are
receiving a vehicle with a state-of-the-art
navigation system that serves as your
personal travel companion to locations
in the continental United States (excluding
Alaska), Hawaii, and parts of Canada.
The VW Touareg navigation system uses
9 CDs for the United States and 1 for
Canada (10 total).

• The Map Data CDs included will only

and ensure optimum performance of
your VW Touareg Navigation System.
