CH/CL Series

Built for the serious contractor, Crown CH/CL Series amplifiers deliver

the features, flexibility and power required in high-profile commercial

applications.

CH1, CH2, CH4 Amplifiers

CH amps offer both low and high impedance

outputs per channel, with each channel inde-

pendently capable of providing 4/8-ohm, 70V

or 100V operation. A 70-Hz high pass filter on

each channel provides low frequency rolloff

to eliminate step-down transformer saturation

when used in 70V and 100V distributed sys-

tems.

CL1, CL2, CL4 Amplifiers

CL amps offer low-impedance compatibility for

applications where high-power, low-impedance loads

are the primary requirement. The CL Series models

provide 2-, 4-, and 8-ohm options per channel. Rear-panel level con-

trols for secure operation and precision detented level controls allow

for accurate level settings in many fixed installation applications.

Active crossover with signal routing available with optional System

Solution Topology modules (SST-SBSC and ScreenArray SSTs).

Xs Series

The Xs Series of power amplifiers from Crown represents a new era in

affordable, quality switch-mode power amplification. The line consists

of four models in a uniform, rugged 2U chassis, incor-

porating the best of tried-and-true design principles and

innovative features. The series features four 2-channel

models: the Xs500, Xs700, Xs900 and Xs1200. Each

has identical features, except for output power. Xs Series

amplifiers are professional stereo power amplifiers

engineered to meet demanding audio requirements —

Designed for multi-zone applications, dbx ZonePro™ processors fea-

ture an impressive array of signal processing tools, highly flexible

input and output configurations, plus a simple yet powerful program

interface that will have your system up and running in no time at all.

ZonePro provides every tool and function necessary to maximize sys-

tem performance, from Gating and Feedback Suppression for control

of paging microphones to system processing such as EQ, Crossovers,

Extremely flexible input options allow any input to be assigned as a

primary or priority override source, and also allow two inputs to be

designated as paging sources. Outputs are also highly configurable,

with combinations including mono and stereo zones, and zones with

subwoofers. Your choice of six inputs/four outputs (640 and 641) or

twelve inputs/six ouputs (1260 and 1261) is available.

Powerful ZonePro Designer software, included with each ZonePro unit,

ZoneProTM Family

ZONEPRO DESIGNER SOFTWARE FUNCTIONS

INPUT

The input module allows input gain control, and in the first two

inputs, Highpass Filter control is also available for reducing micro-

phone handling noise or other undesirable sonic characteristics.

INPUT EQ

All the ZonePro inputs provide EQ. The first two inputs have a four-

band parametric EQ for microphone tonal control, while the other

inputs have a two-band parametric EQ for tonal shaping of the

source.

INPUT INSERTS

Two DSP inserts are available on the mic/line inputs for microphone

processing. These inserts provide selectable DSP functions including:

Feedback Suppression (AFS™), Notch Filtering, Gating, Compression,

De-Esser, and Automatic Gain Control.

DYNAMICS

To provide system protection, the ZonePro allows selection between

output Compression, Limiting or Automatic Gain Control.

DELAY

The ZonePro offers over 400 mSec of output Delay for signal aligning

of the system or speakers.

OUTPUT

The output module of the ZonePro provides polarity control of the

output signal.

ROUTING

Every output zone has its own individually selectable primary source,

priority override source and paging source. These sources can be

selected and ducking can be setup for both priority override and pag-

ing. Output level control is also found in the Routing section.

AUTOWARMTH®

AutoWarmth®is a psychoacoustic function that maintains full frequen-

cy bandwidth even when the signal level has dropped.

BANDPASS FILTERS

Bandpass Filters can be used as Crossovers for subwoofers, or to

maximize the performance of speakers by limiting the out-of-band

information.

OUTPUT EQ

A six-band parametric EQ is available on all outputs to maximize the

sonic performance of the speakers.

INVISIBALL®MOUNTING SYSTEM

JBL’s exclusive, patented Invisiball®Mounting system (most

models) allows for quick, easy, theft-resistant installation with

the built-in mount secured by a few turns of a standard hex

wrench. Ceiling mount adapters are available for Control

23, 25, 29AV and 30. In addition, Control 29AV, 30 and SB-

210 contain suspension points, and optional U-brackets pro-

vide ultimate versatility of installation.

SOUNDZONE®CONTROLLERS

JBL’s Soundzone®Business Music Zone Controllers provide the suc-

cessful commercial sound installation with unparalleled control and

fidelity. Soundzone controllers are ideal for businesses, restaurants,

health clubs, retail stores and any environment where quality sound

and ease of use are essential. Z32S provides three input sources with

two output zones. Model Z21S handles two input sources with one

output zone.

Features:

• Easy to Use, the user simply selects the music source and volume for

each zone. Other functions are hidden behind a security plate or are

automatic. Controls are intuitive — no special user training is required.

• AutoWarmth®is an exclusive JBL dynamic EQ function that automatically

compensates for the ear’s tendency to hear the bass balance differently

at different volumes. AutoWarmth creates enhanced wide bandwidth

fidelity at all volume levels.

• LevelGuard™ keeps the music level optimal despite excessive level

changes from the sources.

• Built-in Subwoofer Crossovers make it easy to include a Control

Contractor subwoofer in the sound system at any time.

• Extra Advanced Features include adjustable duck-for-page, remote

wallplates for volume and/or source selection, stereo-capable zones, and

switchable highpass filters for satellite speaker outputs. Z32S includes all-

call input, music emergency override mute, variable-time priority hold

and assignable pages between output zones.

PRE-PACKAGED SYSTEM

CCS6000 System combines a Control SB-2 with four Control 23

satellite speakers. The Control SB-2’s built-in crossover with high-

pass L/R satellite outputs is tailored to match Control 23 satellite

speakers. No electronic crossover or additional power amps are

needed. The result is a full spectrum system with a 38 Hz – 22 kHz

frequency response. Mounting brackets for corner, wall or ceiling

suspension are also available.

Commercial Audio Series

1-VCAP & 4-VCAP WALL MOUNT CONTOLLERS

Crown VCAP panels are wall-mounted panels with potentiometers that

provide remote control for the volume of individual channels in Crown

Commercial Audio Series mixer/amplfiers and amplifiers. Two models

are available: 1-VCAP and 4-VCAP.

1-VVCAP: This is a 1-gang panel with one potentiometer that provides

remote volume control for one individual output channel.

4-VVCAP: This is a 2-gang panel with four potentiometers

that provide remote volume control for four channels.

• 1-VCAP provides remote volume control for one amplifier channel.

• Fits into a 1-gang electrical box.

• 4-VCAP provides remote volume control for four amplifier channels.

• Fits into a 2-gang electrical box.

ZoneProTM Family

ZC ZONE CONTROLLERS

The Zone Controllers offer extended utility to the ZonePro family.

The nine Zone Controllers use analog DC voltage to provide logic

control ranging from zone source selection, volume and muting, to

program or scene selection and fire safety muting. Wired with read-

ily available and affordable CAT5 cable with universally accepted

RJ-45 connectors at distances up to 1000 ft, the ZC Zone

Controllers bring simple yet elegant solutions to the contractor.

ZC-9: Provides rotary switch source selection (1260 and 1261).

ZC-BOB: Allows “home run” or parallel wiring.

ZC-FIRE: Dedicated fire safety interface that allows selection of either

system mute or scene selection upon being triggered by either

a relay or control voltage from the fire safety system.
