Werecommendtheuseofsmokedetectorsandcarbonmonoxidedetectorswiththistypeofproductin
yourhome.Whenusingthesmokeorcarbonmonoxide detectors,followthemanufacturer’s
instructionsforplacementandoperationinyourhome.
WARNING
Donottouchthepelletstovewhileitisburning.Allowatleast30minutestocooldownafterthe
flameisextinguishedforanyrefill,resta rt,cleaning,ormaintenance.
Donotoperatetheunitwiththehopperopen.
Thelidmustbeshutandtightlysecured.

Thepelletstovemustbeelectricallygroundedinaccordancewithlocalcodesorwithnational
electricalcodeANSI/NEPA70andCSAC22.1.
Thestoveisdesignedforusewithpelletizedwoodonly.Donotburncoalorwoodlogsofany
kind.
Onlyburnpremiumwoodpellets.
Thisstoveshallbeoperatedwithapowersourceforblowers,exhaustsystem,andfuelfeeding
system.
Neverblocktheairsupplytoorfromthisstoveasitwillseriouslydegradetheperformanceand
causesmokingandsoot.
Donot
burnhighashcontentpelletsbecauseitwillrapidlyfilluptheburningpotandaffectthe
combustion.
Theunitisnotsuitableformobilehomes.

requirementsinyourarea.Callyourhomeowner’sinsurancerepresentative forinspectionofyour
stove’sinstallation.
Readandcomplywiththeinstructionsinthismanual.
ThisstoveisdesignedtoburnPremiumWoodPelletsonly.Burningpea
coal,cherrypitsoranything
otherthanpremiumwoodpelletswillvoidyourwarranty.Pelletswithhighashcontentwillnot
burncleanandwillrequiretheunittobecleanedmoreoften.Thisunitisdesignedforusewith
6mm(1/4in)diameterpelletfuel.Usingpelletslongerthan
50mm(2in)canbindtheaugerand
requirefrequentmanualremoval.
Besureyourpelletsarenotdamporwet.Keepsawdustoutoftheunit.
Use76mm(3in)ULapprovedPelletVentTwistLockPipewheninstallingthisstoveandfollowthe
manufacturer’sspecificationsfor
installationandclearances.Eventhoughthispipeinterlocks,itis
recommendedtosealallconnectionswithhightemperaturesilicone.Useatleastthreescrewsto
securethepipetothisunit’sexhaustblower.IfyoudonotuseULapprovedtwistlockpelletpipe,
besuretouseULapproved
pelletventpipeandfasteneachjointwithatleastthreescrews.
Outsidecombustionairis mandatoryforthisunittoworkproperly.Makethisconnectionusing
48mm(17/8in)IDmetalpipeandcoupler.Besuretosecurethepipetotheunitwithaclamp.The
outside
endshouldbecovered(screened)topreventanyforeignmatter fromenteringthesystem.
Trytokeepthenumberofbendsinthispipetoaminimum.
Regularlyinspecttheburnpotareaandifanycrustforms,removeitwithapoker.
Theashintheburn
potshouldberemovedregularlydependingontheburnrate.Keeptheairholes
oftheburnpotcleanforamoreefficientburning.Checkyourexhaustsystemfrequently.
Keeppelletsandallothercombustiblematerialsatasafedistancefromtheunit.
Thisunitrequiresfloorprotectionif
installedonacombustiblesurface.Theminimumfloor
protectionshouldgiveatleast152mm(6in)ofprotectionattherear,and101mm(4in)oneach
sideand152mm(6in)minimumatthefrontoftheunit.
Horizontalrunsshouldnotexceed1.2m(4ft)
withamaximumverticalfluehe ightof10.6m(35ft).
Thisunitshouldbeturnedoffandallowedtocoolpriortocleaning.Anyashesshouldbekeptinan
airtightmetalcontainerandnotdisposedofuntiltheyarecompletelycooled.
Readtheinstructionsthoroughlyandsave
themforfutureuse.
Donotallowpaint,chemicalsorconstructiondustonorneartheunit.Donotallow liquidorany
foreignmaterialsonorinsideyourunit.Shutyourunitdown,letcoolandthencoveritwhen
painting,duringconstructionorsimilaractivity.Wipeand
cleanyourunitifanyforeignmaterial
getsonorinsideyourunit.Unplugunitfirst,andthenvacuumandcleanthemotorandinsideof
theunit.
Impropergasketmaintena nce,includingfailuretoreplacegaskets,cancauseairleaksresultingin
smokebackproblems.

installation.
Floorprotection:Minimum152mm(6in)inthefrontand152mm(6in)oneachside.
Thestovemust
beplacedoncontinuous(groutedjoints)ofnoncombustiblematerialsuchasceramictile,cement
board,brick,9.5mm(3/8in)millboardorequivalentorotherapprovedmaterialsuitableforfloor
protection.
Note:Ceramictileoranytilemustbelaidonacontinuousnoncombustiblesheet
topreventthe
possibilityofembersfallingthroughthesurface.Se eFigure3.

Aflexiblemetalpipeisprovidedwiththisstove.Attachthepipetotheinletatthestove’srear.See
Figure4fortheairintakeattherearofstove.AttachaRODENTGUARDnotincludedwiththisunit
attheendandattachto
thewall.RefertoFigure5forinstallationofairintake.Fastenthepipeby
attachingtheTRIMCOLLARtowall.Allconnectionsmustbesecuredandmadeairtightbyusingeither
anappropriatelysizedhoseclampand/orUL181AP foiltape.
WARNING
Donotusemakeshiftmaterialsorcompromisesintheinstallationofthisunit.
Installventwithclearancespecifiedbytheventmanufacture.

INSTALLATION
Ifoutsideairisnotused,itisimportantthatcombustionairbeeasilyavailabletotheairinlet.Anair
registerthatcanbeopenedshouldbeusedintightlyinsulatedhomes.
VENTING
ThisunitiscertifiedforusewithULcertified/Listed76mm(3in)or101mm(4in)diameterinsize.This
unitcanbeventedinanexistingchimneywiththeadditionofalinerifthechimneyismorethan101
mm(4in)indiameter.Referto
theinstructionsprovidedbytheventorchimneymanufacturer,
especiallywhenpassingthroughawall,ceilingorroof.
Thisisapressurizedexhaustsystem.Allventconnectorjointsmustbesealed with500F(260C)RTV
siliconesealanttoensureconsistentperformanceandavoidsmokeandashspillage.Allhorizontal
connector
jointsmustbesealedwithUL181APfoiltape.Werecommendthatallverticalventconnector
jointsbesecuredwithaminimumof3screws.
EQUIVALENTVENTLENGTH
Thelongertherunofpipeinyourinstallation,themorerestrictionthereisinthesystem.Therefore
largerdiameterpipe
shouldbeusedforlongerruns.
Use76.2mm(3in)pipeifyouhavelessthan4.57m(15ft)ofEquivalentVentLength(EVL).

Connectthehorizontalpipebypushingitthroughtheholeinthemasonryandliningitupwiththe
branchinthetee.Pushthepipeintotheteewhile twistingittolockthetee.

withhightemperature grout.
9.Installthetrimcollar.Anadjustablepipelengthandadaptormaybeneededtoalignandcomplete

CONNECTIONOFCOMBUSTION

STEP1:AttachTrimCollartothewallinsidethehouseand attachwith4screws.
STEP2:AttachRodentGuardCovertothewalloutsidethehouseandattachwith4screws.
STEP3:AttachtheMetalPipetoAirIntakeatthebackofstove(See
Figure4forlocationofAirIntake)
andattachwithPipeClamp.
STEP4:RoutetheMetalPipeintothewallandfixtheotherendofMetalPipeintoRodentGuard.
STEP5:AttachtheRodentGuardontothecover.
STEP6:AttachExteriorCovertoRodentGuardCoverand
attachwith2screws.

USINGCORRECTFUEL
Thisstoveisdesignatedforburning pelletizedwoodfuelonly.Pelletof6.35mm(1/4in)or21.17mm
(5/6in)indiameterandapproximately25.4mm(1in)longshallbeused.Longerorthickerpellets
sometimebridgetheauge rflights,whichpreventsproperpelletfeed.
Burningwoodinforms
otherthanpelletsisnotpermitted.Itwillviolatethebuildingcodesforwhich
thestovehasbeenapprovedandwillvoidallwarranties.
Thisstovefeedpelletsatpresetrates,addingfuelbyhandwillnotincreaseheatoutputbutmay
seriouslyimpairthestoveperformancebygeneratingconsiderable
smoke.
Donotburnwetpellets.
Thestoveperformancedependsheavilyonthequalityofyourpelletfuel.Avoidtheuseofpelletwhich
isexcessfines,withbinderandhighashcontent.

WARNING
Donotuseanyflammableliquidssuchasgasoline,gasolinetypelanternfuel,kerosene,charcoal
lighterfluid,orsimilarliquidstostartorfreshenupthefire!Keepallsuchliquidswellawayfrom
theheaterwhileitisinuse.

OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
1. SETTHEAIRINLETDAMPERS
Itisnotpossibleforthemanufacturetofactorysetyour
stovetoworkproperlywithoutsomeadjustments.The
dampershelpcontroltheamountofairflowsupplied
forcombustion.
AdamperPUSHEDINalltheway,maximizesconcentrated
airflowtotheburnpot.
Thiswillmaintainarobustfire.
TheAugertimingisdesignedtoberun,inmostconditions,
withthedampersclosed.
Insomeareas/conditions,itmaybebenecessarytoadjust
thedamperopenslightlyinordertoslowdowntheflame
andallowthepelletstokeeppacewiththe
rateofburn.
Thisshouldbemonitoredcloselytoensureyouhavethe
properfeedrateestablished.
Ifdampersareopened
toomuch,therateofburnwillbeveryslowandthe
pelletswillbuildup.
THISSETTINGNEEDSTOBEFINETUNEDTOACCORDING
TOYOURLOCATIONANDELEVATION.ITISRECOMMENDED
THATYOUSTARTWITHTHEDAMPERSPUSHEDINTOSTART.
2. OPENINGANDCLOSINGTHEMAINDOOR
Openthestovedoorbyrotatingthehandlecounterclockwise,towardthetopofthestove.
Makesure
thestovedoorispushedfirmlyagainstthestoveandinthelockedpositionbeforestartingstove.
3. FILLTHEHOPPERWITHFUEL
Ensurethehopperiscleanofanydebris,manuals,orotherforeignobjectsthatcouldjamupthefuel
feedauger.Usepelletsmadefromsawdust
and/orotherwoodbyproducts.Premiumgradepelletswill
producethehighestheatoutput.
4. Connecttheplugintostandard120Vac,60Hzoutlet.PressO/Ioncetostartlighting.
WARNING
Donotuseanyflammableliquidssuchasgasoline,gasolinetypelanternfuel,kerosene,charcoal
lighterfluid,orsimilarliquidstostartorfreshenupthefire!Keepallsuchliquidswellawayfrom
theheaterwhileitisinuse.
Makesurehopperlidandfrontdoorof
thestovehavebeentightlyclosedbeforestartingstove.

5. Theunithasenteredthestartupperiodandpelletisnowfeedingunderthepresetrate.
6. After5minutes,thepelletisthenburningnormallyandyoucanselecttheHEATLEVELandBLOWER

REFILL
1.PressI/OswitchoncetoturntheunitOFF.
2.Thepelletwillstopfeedingbuttheunitwillrunforafewminutes.
3.Aftertheunitiscooled,openhopperlidandfillpelletsintohopper.
4.RestarttheunitbypressingO/Ionce.
SHUTDOWNPROCEDURE
PressO/IoncetoturntheunitOFF.Theblowerandexhaustfanwillrunforafewminutesuntilthe
pelletsinfireboxarecompletelyburnt.Theunitcanonlyberestartedwhentheinternaltemperature
fallenintopresetlevel.
WARNING
Keephopperlidandfrontdoorclosedatalltimes.Donotoverfillhopper.

1.Disposetheashbypullingouttheashdrawer.Puttheashintoairtightmetalcontainerandwaitfor
finaldisposal.Themetalcontainerorashshallbeplacedonanoncombustiblesurfaceoronthe
groundandwellawayfromallcombustiblematerial.Replacethe
ashdraweraftercleaning.Make
surethedrawerispushedallthewayinandlevel.
2.Openthedoor.Sweeptheashesonthefrontglassbythebrushprovided.
3.Sweeptheashesoninsidesurfaces.
CAUTION
Makesuretheunitiscooledandunpluggedbeforeanymaintenanceandcleaning.
WARNING
Failuretocleanandmaintainthisunitwillresultinpoorperformanceandsafetyhazards.
Nevercleantheunitwhenhot.
Makesureashesarecooltothetouchbeforeusingvacuum.

4.Pullouttheburningpotandsweeptheburningpotbybrush.Alsosweeptheinsidesurfaceoffire
box(aroundtheburningpot)thoughtheopeningintoAshdrawer.Puttheburningpotbackinplace.
Makesureitislevelandallthewayin.
5.Remove4hexscrewsatthebackcoverbyHexscrewdriverprovided.Theexhaustblowerandpellet
feedingassemblyareasshownbelow.Cleantheexhaustblowerandpelletfeedingassemblyby
vacuum.
WARNING
Makesurethefrontdooriscompletelyclosedbeforeyouoperate.
