1.0 Introduction
Thank you for your purchase of the Audio Guide 2. This user manual contains comprehensive instructions
and information about the operation of the Audio Guide 2. Please read this information before you use the
Audio Guide 2 for the first time.

1.3 FCC Compliance Statement
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
1. This device may not cause harmful interference.
2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired
operation.
Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device,
pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment
generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy, and if it is not installed and used in accordance
with the instruction manual, it may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this
equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference, in which case the user will be
required to correct the interference at their own expense.
Modifications: Any modifications made to this device that are not approved by AudioConexus Inc. may
void the authority granted to the user by the FCC to operate this equipment.

2.1 Illustration

2) Triggering Module
IR triggers are built in, with optional RFID, RF and GPS sensors available.
3) Charging Indicator
Red/Green LED indicator means charging /fully charged status.
Blinking Red LED means the battery may be defective. Please give any defective Audio
Guide 2s to support staff.
4) Built In Speaker
Users can listen to audio commentaries through the built in speaker. The built in speaker
will be disabled if headphones are connected.
5) OLED Screen
Triggering modes, battery status, volume, photos of exhibits and track progress will be
displayed here.

Two auxiliary buttons are also provided as and . These are designed for extra information. Use of
these buttons is optional.
7) Power / Stop Button
To power On – Press button for 1 second until the screen displays and you hear a beep.
To power Off – Hold button for 2 seconds, until screen displays OFF and you hear two
beeps.
To top or replay commentary, press the stop button and enter the number displayed near
the desired exhibit.
8) Uploading Connector
This is the port that connects the Audio Guide 2 to the computer or charger. This is used
for uploading information or recharging the Audio Guide 2.
9) Battery Door
This is the door that contains the Audio Guide 2 battery.

2.2 Operation and Use
Power On/Off
Press and hold the Power On/Off button for 1 second until you hear a beep. The OLED screen will turn
on. The Audio Guide 2 is now on. Press and hold the On/Off button for 2 seconds until you hear two
beeps. The Audio Guide 2 will show a power symbol. When this symbol has disappeared, the device is
now off. Even when the Audio Guide 2 is off, the alarm will still be activated if anyone tries to remove it
from the designated area.
Auto Power-Off
When an Audio Guide 2 has not been operated for 30 minutes (Factory Default) it will switch off
automatically. When the Audio Guide 2 is off, the alarm will still be activated if anyone tries to remove it
from the designated area. Auto Power-Off time can be changed through the provided Audio Master 2
software “
Choose Language
To change the language, enter the 3 digit “Language Code” given by your tour provider and press the
button. Press to confirm your choice. An audio prompt will play and the screen will give information
about your change, showing the flag of the language you have selected (Optional). Language codes are
available from 951 to 982. 951 is the factory default when the devices are turned on. The default
language can be changed using the Audio Master 2 software.
Manual play and Auto Play
There are two ways to activate a selected audio content; Manually or Automatically. In manual mode, the
audio content will be activated by entering a 4-digit number code followed by the button. Number
codes are available from 0 to 9999. If Manual mode is activated and a remote triggering device is used,
the audio track will be activated, but on pause. A play button will show on the OLED screen. Press the
button to play the commentary.
In Automatic mode, when an audio guide enters the triggering range of an RFID, RF, GPS or IR signal
the number code will automatically show in the display and the audio will begin to play. Automatic mode
will only work with specific triggering devices; E-AG2-TRG-IR, E-AG2-TRG-RF and E-AG2-TR-ID. Semi-
Automatic mode is also available using the Audio Master 2 software.
Delete Number Code
If you have entered an incorrect number while putting in a track number or language number, press the
button to delete the current number. Now enter the correct number and press .
Information Key
The Information Key is served as the default button for information. This will display copywrite and current
firmware version information. Press the key to exit at any time.

Battery and Charging
When the battery is almost completely drained, a low battery icon will blink and be shown on the display.
After this, the Audio Guide 2 will automatically shut down after 20 seconds. Please place the Audio Guide
2 on the charger as soon as possible.
Fast Forward/Skip and Rewind/Last Track
While playing audio commentary pressing and holding will cause the commentary to Fast Forward.
Pressing and holding will cause the commentary to Rewind.
If Commentary is not currently playing, the button will cause the Audio Guide 2 to jump to the next
track. This will cause the Audio Guide 2 to automatically begin playing that track. the button will
cause the Audio Guide 2 to jump to the Last Track. This will cause the Audio Guide 2 to automatically
begin playing that track.
The Audio Guide 2 will always move forward or backward to play the next track that contains Audio
Commentary. If the tracks 1, 4, 52 and 9999 contain commentary, these are the only tracks that the Audio
Guide 2 will recognize. If the Skip button is pressed while on Track 9999, it will loop to Track 1. The same
is true of pressing Last Track while on track 1.

2.3 Alarm and Trigger Systems (Optional)
Alarm
When the alarm is triggered by coming near an alarm loop, the Audio Guide 2 will emit a beeping sound.
The LED on the top of the Audio Guide 2 will light RED. The Audio Guide Is now LOCKED. The beeping
can be stopped by holding the button and pressing . This will stop the beeping, but the Audio Guide
will still be in LOCKED mode.
To take the Audio Guide 2 out of LOCKED mode, set the Audio Guide 2 into the charger for at least 5
seconds.
If the Audio Guide 2 has not been set in the charger for at least 24 hours, it will automatically enter
LOCKED mode, as the Audio Guide “thinks” it may have been stolen.
Alarm Loop Controller
The Alarm Loop Controller (Optional Unit E-AG2-TRG-ALM) allows the setup of a perimeter alarm for the
Audio Guide 2 system. When triggered, the Audio Guide 2 will act as above. The Alarm Loop Controller
also allows a loop to be placed around audio guides in the charger. This allows
IR Triggering
The Audio Guide 2 Is built with an IR triggering function. To use this function, you will need to install an
infrared trigger. (Optional, Unit E-AG2-TRG-IR) Infrared triggers are directional line-of-sight triggers that
must be able to “see” the Audio Guide to operate. Each IR trigger can only trigger one audio track
number.
RF Triggering
The Audio Guide 2 has an optional built in Radio Frequency module (Optional E-AG2-TRG-RF). RF
triggers are omnidirectional triggers (the signal travels in all directions) and will trigger all Audio Guides
within range of the trigger to play specified audio content. Each RF trigger can only trigger one audio
track number.
RFID Triggering
RFID triggering is a system that is very similar to RF triggering. (Optional E-AG2-TRG-ID) “Radio
Frequency Identification” is a low-power RF signal that requires the user to bring the Audio Guide within 5
cm of the trigger to operate. These are particularly useful when there are going to be many exhibits in a
smaller space. Each RFID trigger can only trigger one audio track number.
Triggered Shutdown
Using any triggering device, you can signal all receiving Audio Guide 2 systems to shut down. Set the
“track number” to four zeroes, “0000”. Any Audio Guide 2 that comes within the trigger range will
automatically shut down. This is best used with the RFID Triggering option where the units are returned
after a tour is completed.

3 Troubleshooting
No Sound
Make sure the Audio Guide is uploaded / duplicated with content.
Make sure Memory Card is available in the device.
No Picture
Make sure Audio Guide is uploaded / Duplicated with picture content.
Make sure Memory Card is available in the device.
Failed to turn ON
Make sure Li-Po battery is properly plugged in properly.
Check your Li-Po battery for charge.
My guide randomly turns off during my tour
Ensure that none of your tour Triggers are set to “0000” (This will shut off the units)
Ensure that the device has not passed the turn-off timeout (See Software Manual)
Maintainance
1) Do not operate your Audio Guide in constant high temperature or high humidity for long periods of
time
2) Charge your Audio Guide for at least 8 hours for the initial battery charge.
3) Charge your Audio Guide at least once a month when storing it for a long period of time.
4) Do not change the Li-Po battery by yourself. Contact your dealer for service and safety
information.

5 Warranty Policies
Basic Product Warranty (“Basic Warranty”)
Warranties are limited to physical defects in the materials, parts and workmanship for a period of 12
months from the date of purchase, or installation and commissioning (whichever is later). Not covered by
AudioConexus warranties are accessories, batteries and other consumables. Abnormal conditions,
deliberate abuse and damage due to accidents, operator’s error, or unauthorized service attempts are
excluded from any warranty claims.
Under the warranty; AudioConexus will repair, or at its option, replace the product at no charge, providing
a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number is first obtained from an authorized AudioConexus
Service Department.
Under no circumstances will AudioConexus or any of its Authorized Service Departments accept delivery
of merchandise returned without an AudioConexus issued RMA number.
Products should be returned in their original package when possible, or otherwise suitably protected to
avoid shipping damage. The AudioConexus Service Department shall be the sole final authority to
determine the validity of all warranty issues. The customer assumes the cost of shipping to an
AudioConexus Service Department. AudioConexus will return all warranty repaired product
postage/shipping pre-paid.
This Basic Warranty Plan offered by AudioConexus, is the customer’s only warranty remedy concerning
the product. All other representations, warranties or conditions, expressed or implied, written or oral,
including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, are
expressly excluded.
In no event will AudioConexus be liable for direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages
resulting from any defect in the product or from its use, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
AudioConexus will provide the customer with a repair quotation for customer approval prior to repair for
all products returned out of warranty or as a result of deliberate damage or misuse.
AudioConexus warrants all service repairs and replacements for 90 days from the date of return to the
customer. This warranty specifically excludes unrelated additional defects or failures. Otherwise the same
general provisions of the product warranties apply.
Any unauthorized alterations to an AudioConexus product or system, including but not limited to:
adjustments, attempted repairs, tests, addition of accessories, addition or removal of components must
first be authorized in writing by an authorized AudioConexus Service Department. Failure to obtain written
approval in advance of afore stated adjustment(s) or alteration(s) will render any remaining warranty null
and void.

Extended Warranty Plan
AudioConexus provides Extended Warranty Plans for many products and systems. The same warranty
policies apply to all Extended Warranty Plans as detailed above under Basic Product Warranty.
Extended Warranty Plan terms and costs vary. AudioConexus will provide the customer with specific
Extended Warranty Plan costs, product specific upon request.
All Extended Warranty Plans must be purchased at the time of equipment purchase.
Extended Warranty Plans extend Basic Product Warranty to a period of 2 years from date of purchase,
unless otherwise approved in advance by AudioConexus.
