GETTING STARTED
1. Please read the safety section (page 2) in the main instructions before proceeding further. This section
contains vital information to ensure safe positioning and use of the STB
2. Unpack the STB and place on a flat level surface.
3. Connect the aerial into the Antenna In connector at the rear of the STB, together with the Mains adaptor and Scart
or HDMI lead. Fig 1
4. Plug in and switch on the STB at the mains supply. The LED indicator on the STB will
illuminate and show red.
5. Open the battery compartment cover (Fig 2) on the reverse of the remote control.
Insert 2 x AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries in accordance with the diagram in the battery
compartment. Take care to observe the correct polarity (+/-). Refit the battery
compartment cover
6. Press the POWER button (Fig 3) to turn the STB on. The LED indicator will turn green
and after a few seconds, the screen will activate and the first time installation menu
(Fig. 4) will appear.
7. Use the cursor ▼/▲ buttons on the remote control to move up and down the display
to highlight desired options.
8. The default language is “English” if you want another language select that language
and press OK.
9. Select “Country” this is defaulted to IRELAND.
10. Select your TV Screen Aspect ratio. Older TV’s will be 4:3. Wide screen is 16:9.
11. If using an HDMI connection select your screen resolution. If only using a Scart
connector, ignore this setting.
12. Active Antenna control. If you have a “Mast head” amplifier this should be set to ON.
If you have no amplifier leave set to OFF.
13. Select YES if you want to scan the DTV signals automatically. (Recommended).
After the scan has completed, the STB will display the RTE 1 channel.
