Operating instructions

Danfoss Termix VMTD-F-I is a complete solution for direct heating and instantaneous domestic hot water. It's a prefabricated district heating substation with a differential pressure controller, fitting piece, sensor pockets, strainer, and ball valves. The heating circuit is designed for direct heat generation with a differential pressure control for radiator thermostatic valves. The domestic hot water is prepared in a heat exchanger with a flow-compensated temperature controller and integrated differential pressure controller.

Thesubstationisprefabricatedwithadifferentialpressure

meteraswellasstrainerandballvalves.
Heating(HE)
Theheatingcircuitisdesignedfordirectgenerationofheat.
Thedifferentialpressurecontrolsetstheoptimumoperation
conditionsforradiatorthermostaticvalvesinordertoenable
individualtemperaturecontrolineachroom.Inordertoenablea
time-dependingtemperaturecontrolprogram,azonevalvewith
actuatorandaroomthermostatcanbeincludedasanoption.
Domestichotwater(DHW)
Thedomestichotwaterispreparedintheheatexchangerandthe
temperatureisregulatedwithaowcompensatedtemperature
controllerwithintegrateddifferentialpressurecontroller.The
heatexchangercoolsouttheDHwaterveryefciently,thereby
creatinganexcellentoperatingeconomy.TheDanfossIHPT
valveensuresastablehotwatertemperaturebyvaryingloads,
supplytemperaturesandbyhighandvaryingdifferentialpressure
withouttheneedforreadjustingthevalve.Thisprotectsthe
heatexchangeragainstoverheatingandlimescaleformation.
FurthermoretheIHPTvalvehasanintegratedidletemperature
controller,whichkeepsthehousesupplylinewarm.Thisshortens
thewaitingperiodsduringsummerwhentheheatingsystemisin
reducedoperation,whichisidealwherehighcomfortisrequested.

Thisoperatingmanualshouldbereadcarefullybeforeinstallation
andstart-upofthesubstation.Themanufactureracceptsno
liabilityfordamageorfaultsthatresultfromnon-compliancewith
theoperatingmanual.Pleasereadandfollowalltheinstructions
carefullytopreventaccidents,injuryanddamagetoproperty.
Assembly,start-upandmaintenanceworkmustbeperformedby
qualiedandauthorizedpersonnelonly.
Pleasecomplywiththeinstructionsissuedbythesystem
manufacturerorsystemoperator.
Corrosionprotection
Allpipesandcomponentsaremadeofstainlesssteelandbrass.
Themaximumchloridecompoundsoftheowmediumshouldnot
behigherthan150mg/l.
Theriskofequipmentcorrosionincreasesconsiderablyifthe
recommendedlevelofpermissiblechloridecompoundsis
exceeded.
Energysource
Thesubstationisdesignedfordistrictheatingastheprimary
sourceofenergy.However,alsootherenergysourcescanbeused
wheretheoperatingconditionsallowitandalwaysarecomparable
todistrictheating.
Application
Thesubstationisdesignedtobeconnectedtothehouse
installationinafrost-freeroom,wherethetemperaturedoesnot
exceed50°Candthehumiditydoesnotexceed60%.Donotcover
orwallupthesubstationorinanyotherwayblocktheentrance
tothestation.
Choiceofmaterial
Choiceofmaterialsalwaysincompliancewithlocallegislation.
Safetyvalve(s)
Werecommendmountingofsafetyvalve(s),however,alwaysin
compliancewithlocalregulations.
Connection
Thesubstationmustbeequippedwithfeaturesthatensurethat
thesubstationcanbeseparatedfromallenergysources(also
powersupply).
Emergency
Incaseofdangeroraccidents-re,leaksorotherdangerous
circumstances-interruptallenergysourcestothestationif
possible,andseekexperthelp.
Incaseofdiscolouredorbad-smellingdomestichotwater,closeall
shut-offvalvesonthesubstation,informtheoperatingpersonnel
andcallforexperthelpimmediately.
Storage
Anystorageofthesubstationwhichmaybenecessarypriorto
installationshouldbeinconditionswhicharedryandheated.

Assembly,start-upandmaintenanceworkmustbeperformedby
qualiedandauthorizedpersonnelonly.
Pleaseobserveinstructionscarefully
Toavoidinjurytopersonsanddamagetothedevice,itisabsolutely

Beawareoftheinstallationspermissiblesystempressureand

skinburns.Theballvalvesondistrictheatingsupplyandreturnshould
beclosed.
Warningoftransportdamage
Beforesubstationinstallation,pleasemakesurethatthesubstation
hasnotbeendamagedduringtransport.
IMPORTANT-Tighteningofconnections
Duetovibrationsduringtransportallangeconnections,screwjoints
andelectricalclampandscrewconnectionsmustbecheckedand
tightenedbeforewaterisaddedtothesystem.Afterwaterhasbeen
addedtothesystemandthesystemhasbeenputintooperation,
re-tightenALLconnections.

Danfoss Termix VMTD-F-I is a complete solution for direct heating and instantaneous domestic hot water. It's a prefabricated district heating substation with a differential pressure controller, fitting piece, sensor pockets, strainer, and ball valves. The heating circuit is designed for direct heat generation with a differential pressure control for radiator thermostatic valves. The domestic hot water is prepared in a heat exchanger with a flow-compensated temperature controller and integrated differential pressure controller.
