PROPER INSTALLATION OF ROOF CAPS:
BY F.J. MOORE MFG. CO.
1. CUT THE VENT PIPE 2" - 5" ABOVE TOP OF THE BASE SLEEVE, TO ALLOW FOR ROOF
MOVEMENT (EXPANSION & CONTRACTION).
2. LAY THE BASE FLASHING ON ROOF BESIDE THE VENT PIPE. TO ADJUST TO THE EXACT
PITCH, USE THE HIP CORNER TABS TO INCREASE OR DECREASE THE PITCH.
To INCREASE the Pitch - Push the Hips IN To DECREASE the Pitch - Pull the Hips OUT
3. PLACE THE BASE FLASHING OVER THE PIPE. ROTATE UNDER 1 ROW OF SHINGLES.
4. CENTER THE PIPE SO THERE IS ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF AIR SPACE AROUND
PERIMETER, BETWEEN THE PIPE AND THE BASE SLEEVE.
5. INSTALL THE TOP SLEEVE. TIGHTEN THE RING CLAMP (NUT/BOLT).
6. NAIL THE BASE FLASHING TO THE ROOF.
IT’S AS EASY AS 1-2-3-4-5-6
Pipe should be cut off 2” - 5" above the top of the base sleeve
