This appliance is for household use and may be plugged into any 120-volt AC

electrical outlet (ordinary household current).

TO USE: Begin by combing hair as it is naturally worn and determining amount to

be cut. For best results, hair should be clean, dry and free from dirt, hair spray,

creams, etc. The standard blade is ideal for tapering, texturizing and thinning. Four

attachments are included for precision cutting. Blades have precisely hardened,

ground and lapped cutting teeth. They should be handled carefully and never

bumped or used to cut dirty or abrasive material.

TRIMMING HAIR: Comb hair to remove all tangles. Finish combing in

the style usually worn. We suggest you cut only a small amount until you become

familiar with the trimmer and the attachments. Use the trimmer adjustment lever

to lengthen or shorten the distance between the blades and to cut hair at various

lengths without attachments. Allow the trimmer to cut its way through the hair. Do

not force it through the hair at a fast rate.

For precision cutting, select desired attachment and attach it to the trimmer head.

To use with trimmer attachment, slide trimmer attachment over trimming blade.

HOW TO USE

CAUTION: Never attempt to clean, oil or replace blades while the trimmer is

plugged into the electrical outlet.

Before attempting to clean, oil or replace blades, turn your trimmer off and unplug

it from the electrical outlet. Other than the recommended cleaning, oiling or

replacing of blades, all maintenance must be performed by authorized service

personnel. Refer service to qualified service personnel.

TO CLEAN: After each use, brush away the loose hair on the trimmer and the

attachments with the cleaning brush. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe appliance

surfaces. Attachments may be cleaned separately with a mild soap and water.

Do not allow water or any other liquid to get into the unit. Be sure attachments

have dried completely before using with your trimmer.

TO OIL: For best results, approximately once a month, put a drop of oil on the

blades. The motor bearings are permanently lubricated and will not require

additional lubrication. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OIL MOTOR BEARINGS.

NOTE: DO NOT OVER-OIL! This appliance requires very little oiling. When

necessary to oil or sanitize, hold unit with blades pointed down and wipe off

excess liquid/oil with a soft cloth. Excessive oiling or application of liquids will

cause damage if allowed to seep back into the motor.

Always store lubricant (oil) bottle in an upright position.

TO STORE: Unplug appliance and clean. Store in its box or in a dry place. Never

store it while it is hot or still plugged in. Never wrap the cord tightly around the

appliance. Never hang unit by the cord. Do not put any stress on the cord where it

enters the unit, as it could cause the cord to fray and break.

CARE AND CLEANING

For longer hair on top, do not use trimmer attachment. Use either

the barber comb or a regular comb and lift hair with comb. Trim

along the top of the comb, or grasp with fingers and trim along the

top of fingers. Repeat procedure from front to back, gradually

cutting hair shorter by reducing space, between comb or fingers

and the head. Be sure to comb frequently to remove trimmed hair and check for

uneven strands.

For the top, move trimmer from front of head to the back. Again,

leave hair long the first few times until you get used to the trimmer

and attachment.

Repeat all the way around sides and back of head. For shorter hair,

push trimmer attachment down onto trimmer, or apply more

pressure and less outward motion. This requires practice;

therefore, it is always better to leave hair long the first few times.

Start by trimming sides from the bottom upward. Hold trimmer

lightly against hair with teeth pointed up. Slowly move trimmer up

and out, cutting only a small portion of hair at a time.

SHAPING HAIRCUT: Use trimmer without trimmer attachment for

shaping. Comb hair into natural style and start between the ear

and sideburn. Hold trimmer with corner edge of blade against

hairline. Carefully follow the desired outline of hair over, around

and behind the ear.

You may want to use scissors instead of trimmer for top of the

head. Simply follow the same procedures as above, using scissors.

MUSTACHES: Comb through the mustache using the fine-toothed

end of the comb. Using the comb, hold the whiskers and trim hair in

an upward motion. If you wish to use trimmer attachment, simply

slide it over the blades and set to the desired position. Comb

through mustache with smooth, overlapping strokes.

TRIMMING BEARDS & MUSTACHES: BEARDS: Using barber comb

or any comb; comb beard in an upward motion; hold hair ends in

place with the comb and trim hair with an upward motion. If you

wish, you may slide the trimmer attachment over the blades, and

push down to the desired position. Start at each sideburn and trim

toward the chin in smooth, overlapping strokes, as if you were combing the beard.

Once you have completed trimming the beard, comb through to comb out any

remaining trimmed hair.

UTILISATION

ENTRETIEN ET NETTOYAGE

ATTENTION: N'essayez jamais de nettoyer, huiler ou remplacer les lames pendant

que la tondeuse est branchée dans une prise de courant.

Avant de nettoyer, huiler ou replacer les lames sur la tondeuse, mettez-la dans la

position d'arrêt et débranchez-la de la prise de courant. Sauf pour le nettoyage,

l'huilage ou le remplacement des lames recommandés, tout entretien doit être

effectué par un personnel autorisé de service.

POUR NETTOYER: Après chaque utilisation, enlevez les cheveux coupés de la

tondeuse et des accessoires, avec la brosse de nettoyage. Utilisez un chiffon

doux et sec pour essuyer les surfaces de l'appareil. Les accessoires peuvent être

nettoyés séparément avec du savon doux et de l'eau. Ne laissez pas d'eau ou tout

autre liquide pénétrer dans l'appareil. Assurez que les accessoires soient

complètement secs avant de les utiliser avec votre tondeuse.

POUR HUILER: Pour les meilleurs résultats, mettez une goutte d'huile sur les

lames, une fois par mois. Les coussinets du moteur sont lubrifiés en permanence

et ne requièrent pas de lubrification supplémentaire. N'ESSAYEZ PAS D'HUILER

LES COUSSINETS DU MOTEUR.

d'huilage. Lorsque nécessaire, tenez l'appareil avec les lames pointant vers le

bas et essuyez l'excès de liquide/huile avec un chiffon doux. L'excès d'huile ou de

liquide qui retourne dans le moteur peut endommager la tondeuse.

Rangez toujours la bouteille de lubrifiant (huile) debout.

POUR RANGER: Débranchez l'appareil et nettoyez-le. Rangez-le dans sa boîte ou

dans un endroit sec. Ne le rangez jamais quand il est encore chaud ou branché.

N'enroulez jamais le cordon fermement autour de l'appareil. Ne suspendez jamais

l'appareil par le cordon. N'appliquez pas de tension sur le cordon à l'endroit où il

entre dans l'appareil, car il pourrait s'effilocher et se briser.

MOUSTACHES: Peignez la moustache en utilisant les dents fines

du peigne. Retenez la moustache avec le peigne et coupez-la d'un

mouvement vers le haut. Si vous désirez utiliser un faux peigne,

glissez-le sur les lames et enclenchez-le à la position désirée.

Peignez la barbe doucement, enchevauchant les coupes.

POUR COUPER LES BARBES ET LES MOUSTACHES: BARBES: En

utilisant le peigne à barbier ou un autre peigne, peignez la barbe

vers le haut; retenez le bout des poils en place avec le peigne et

coupez-les d'un mouvement vers le haut. Si vous le désirez, vous

pouvez glisser un faux peigne sur les lames et l'enclencher à la

position désirée. Commencez près des favoris et coupez les poils doucement

d'un mouvement vers le menton, enchevauchant les coupes, tout comme si vous

peigniez votre barbe. Peignez ensuite votre barbe pour enlever tous les poils

coupés.

Pour couper les cheveux sur le dessus de la tête, n'utilisez pas les

faux peignes. Utilisez soit le peigne de barbier ou un peigne

régulier pour soulever les cheveux. Coupez les cheveux sur le

dessus du peigne ou tenez les cheveux avec vos doigts et coupez

les cheveux au-dessus de vos doigts. Répétez cette procédure à

partir du devant à l'arrière, coupant graduellement les cheveux plus courts en

réduisant l'espace entre le peigne ou les doigts et la tête. Peignez vos cheveux

fréquemment pour enlever les cheveux coupés et vérifier s'il y a des mèches

inégales.

Pour le dessus, passez la tondeuse à partir du devant de la tête

vers l'arrière. Encore une fois, les cheveux ne doivent pas être

coupés trop courts jusqu'à ce que vous deveniez familier avec la

tondeuse et les accessoires.

Répétez autour des côtés et de l'arrière de la tête. Pour des

cheveux plus courts, placez un faux peigne sur la tondeuse en le

poussant vers le bas. Glissez la tondeuse plus fermement vers le

haut et sans autant de mouvement vers l'extérieur; ce qui requiert

de la pratique. Conséquemment, au début, il est toujours mieux de

ne pas couper les cheveux trop courts.

Commencez en coupant les côtés à partir du bas vers le haut.

Tenez la tondeuse légèrement contre les cheveux avec les dents

pointant vers le haut. Glissez la tondeuse doucement vers le haut

et l'extérieur, coupant seulement une petite partie des cheveux

à la fois.

Tenez la tondeuse sens dessus dessous pour former les favoris et

pour l'arrière du cou. Tenez la tondeuse contre la peau à la

longueur désirée et travaillez vers le bas.

POUR TERMINER LA COUPE: Utilisez la tondeuse sans faux peigne.

Peignez les cheveux de la façon dont ils sont normalement coiffés

et commencez entre les oreilles et les favoris. Tenez la tondeuse

avec le bord pointu de la lame contre la naissance des cheveux.

Suivez avec soin le contour désiré des cheveux au-dessus, autour

et derrière l'oreille.

Vous voudrez peut-être utiliser les ciseaux au lieu de la tondeuse

pour le dessus de la tête. Suivez simplement les procédures ci-

dessus, utilisant les ciseaux.

product. The warranty contained herein is in lieu of all other

If a malfunction occurs, do not use the unit. Simply return the unit to the

store where purchased for examination and possible replacement. The

customer must present original sales receipt when returning any

defective product.

POLARIZED PLUG

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a

safety feature, this plug fits in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does

not fit into the outlet, reverse the plug, and try again. If it still does not fit,
