Remote control
Close
Locks the entire vehicle.
Open
Unlocks the entire vehicle.
Open the trunk lid
Open trunk lid automatically:
Press button longer and trunk lid opens.
Comfort opening
Press and hold Open button to open the windows
and the glass sunroof* after unlocking.
Panic Mode*
Press for at least 3 seconds.
Press any button to cancel.

Open
Take a 󸼌rm hold of the door handle.
Close
Use your 󸼌nger to touch the panel for approx.
one second.
Personal Pro󸳆le
Some of the vehicle’s functions can be indi-
vidually tailored and stored for several remote
controls.
Different settings are retrieved and implemented
in the vehicle, depending on the remote control
that is detected when unlocking the vehicle.
Keyless driving pleasure*
The Comfort Access system allows you to
gain access to the vehicle and start the engine
without holding the remote control. The remote
control is automatically detected in the immedi-
ate vicinity or inside the vehicle.

1. Radio readiness or ignition on.
2. Adjust seat and mirrors.
3. Press the MEMORY button, LED lights up.

Push the lever past the pressure point.

Press lever to the point of resistance.

Garage door opener
1. The ignition is on.
2. Press both outer buttons, 1 and 3, for approx.
20 seconds until the LED 󸼍ashes.
3. Hold the hand-held transmitter at a distance
of approx. 2 to 8 in/5 to 20 cm away from the
memory buttons.
4. Simultaneously press the transmit button of
the hand-held transmitter and the memory
button of the universal remote control.
5. Release both buttons when the LED 󸼍ashes
rapidly.
Tip
Refer to the “Integrated universal remote
control” section in the Owner’s Manual.

Safety
Transporting children safely
Securing rear doors and windows
Move lever in rear doors to its downward position.
The door can only be opened from outside.
Child restraint systems
Please observe the manufacturer's instructions
of the child restraint systems concerning the
selection, mounting and use of these systems,
otherwise the child's safety may be compro-
mised.
LATCH child restraint 󸳆xing system
Please draw the safety belt out of the way prior
to mounting the LATCH child restraint system.
The inserts for the bottom LATCH mountings
are located in the space between the seat and
the backrest.
Please make sure that both bottom LATCH
mountings are properly fastened and that the
child restraint system is snugly positioned
against the backrest.
The upper safety belt must be fed through the
head restraint and be locked at the fastening
point. Please tighten the upper safety belt and
move the head restraint to its lowest position.
Please observe the other instructions for “Trans-
porting children safely” in the Owner's Manual
of the vehicle.
Safety switch for rear
side windows
Push safety switch for
rear side windows on driver's side door when
children are transported on the rear seat.
LED lights up: Power windows cannot be operated
from a rear seat.

Start/stop button
Switching the ignition on/off
Press the start/stop button without depressing
the brake pedal.
Starting the engine
Press the start/stop button while depressing the
brake pedal.
Engine off / accessory position
Press start/stop button when the engine is
running.

To shift from P or to R:
1.
Depress the brake while the engine is running.
2. Press the unlock button.
3. Move the selector lever in the desired
direction.
Applying the parking brake
Pull the switch, LED lights up.
Releasing the parking brake.
Press the switch with the brake depressed or
transmission position P engaged;
the LED goes out.
Automatic Hold
Automatic setting and releasing of the parking
brake, e. g. in stop-and-go traf󸼌 c.
Applying:
Press button, LED lights up.
Releasing:
Press button again, LED extinguishes.
To ensure that the vehicle can roll
before driving into an automatic car
wash:
1. Insert the vehicle key into the ignition
lock.
2. Depress the brake.
3. Engage N.
4. Release the parking brake.
5. Switch off the engine.
6. Release the brake.
The vehicle can roll for approx. 30 minutes
as long as the ignition is not switched off.

M Sport automatic gearbox

Sport drive program
Push shift lever in D to the left. In the instrument
cluster, speeds S1 to S6 are indicated. Sport
program S supports a dynamic driving style.
Manual mode
First switch to Sport mode. Push shift lever
forward or backward resp. pull shifter +/- on
steering wheel. The gearbox does not upshift
when the rpm-limit is reached.
Shift lights in Head-Up Display*
Close to engine speed limits, the yellow marked
areas of the tachometer in the M View light up
reminding the driver of the approaching upshift
point. Please upshift early while engine is still
cold. When engine is hot, upshift no later than
when the red area lights up.
As a 󸼌nal upshift reminder the whole tachometer
blinks when the vehicle reaches the maximum
engine speed.
Tip
By fading in of the M View in the Head-Up
Display* the shift lights, the gear box speed
indication and the vehicle speed are projected
within the driver's 󸼌eld of vision.
