Thank you for choosing a Hama product.
Take your time and read the following instructions and
information completely. Please keep these instructions in a safe
place for future reference. If you sell the device, please pass
these operating instructions on to the new owner.
1. Explanation of Warning Symbols and Notes
Warning
This symbol is used to indicate safety instructions or to draw
your attention to specic hazards and risks.
Note
This symbol is used to indicate additional information or
important notes.

3. Safety Notes
• The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
• Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating, and
only use it in a dry environment.
• Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major
shocks.
• Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in
the specications.
• Always pull directly on the plug when disconnecting the
cable, never on the cable itself.
• Make sure that cables do not pose a tripping hazard or block
emergency exits.
• Ensure that no electrical cables are crushed or damaged
during installation or adjusting.
• Keep this product, as all electrical products, out of the reach
of children!
• Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the
warranty.
• Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due
to the risk of suffocation.
• Dispose of packaging material immediately according to
locally applicable regulations.
• Ensure that the power supply unit is suciently ventilated and
that heat can dissipate adequately.
Warning
• Only connect the product to a socket that has been
approved for the device. The socket must be installed
close to the product and easily accessible.
• Do not continue to operate the device if it becomes
visibly damaged.
4. Startup and Operation
Note – Mains voltage 100 – 240 V
The power supply unit is suitable for mains voltages of
100–240 V and therefore can be used worldwide. Please
note that a country-specic adapter may be necessary.
• Determine which power supply your terminal device requires.

• You can nd this information on the original power supply
unit or in the operating instructions for your terminal device.
If necessary, contact the retailer of your terminal device or
the support centre of your terminal device manufacturer for
more information.
• Set the voltage selection switch to the voltage required by
your terminal device. (2)
Warning
• Do not use the universal notebook power supply unit if
you have any doubts as to the voltage or the required
adapter required by your terminal device.
• Do not change or reset the voltage during operation
of the power supply unit in connection with a terminal
device.
• Ensure that the total power consumption of the
notebook/netbook does not exceed the power supply
unit’s rated output capacity of 90 W.
• Failing to observe these warnings could result in damage
to the universal notebook power supply unit as well as
the connected terminal device.
Please refer to the instructions in the operating manual of your
terminal device. Unless these illustrations explicitly inform you
otherwise, proceed as follows:
• Select the correct adapter plug using the plug on the original
power supply unit. (3)
• Check the mechanical compatibility between the universal
power supply unit’s adapter plug and the connecting socket
of your end device without plugging it in.
• The plug should slide into the socket easily and t securely
without too much play.
