Efficient Use of Lip Area
Traditional Shape (Left):
The corners of the rectangular-shaped lip are
seldom used. As a wheel rolls to one of those
corners, other wheels are already off of the
mat.
Evolve Modern Shape (Right):
The front lip is curved to accommodate the
circular footprint of today’s 5-star wheel
bases found on nearly all office chairs.
Efficient Use of Back Corners
Traditional Shape (Left):
Similar to the lip, the back corners cannot
accommodate the round footprint of the
circular wheel base.
Evolve Modern Shape (Right):
As the chair moves near the back edge of the
mat, the contoured back corners are fit the 5-
star wheel base footprint.
Wide, Tapered Modern Lip
Traditional Shape (Left):
The most common problem area with the
traditional design is the corners between the
lip and body of the mat, where wheels often
roll off and can get stuck.
Evolve Modern Shape (Right):
The wide, tapered modern lip allows for more wheel space at the front of the mat, which
minimizes the likelihood of roll-offs.
