Assembly, installation and servicing should be carried out by authorised
electricians.
Switch off the operating voltage of the system before beginning with assem-
bly or service work.
Avoid short circuits!
Observe the relevant country-specific standards, regulations and guidelines
on the installation and operation of antenna systems.
To ensure electromagnetic compatibility, make sure all connections are tight
and the covers are screwed on securely.
No liability is accepted for damage caused by faulty connections or inap-
propriate handling of the device.
Check the basis unit KAB 3000 according to the safety instructions listed in

2.4 descrIptIon
The Quad AV Adapting Unit
KAD 340
is designed for feeding audio and
video signals into the modulator modules
KMM 341
and
KMS 342
.
The audio signals that have been fed in reach the AV interface via the audio
sockets (red = right-hand channel, white = left-hand channel / mono) as well
as the downstream level regulator. The video signals fed in via the video sock-
ets (yellow) are also here. The existing signals are fed to the modulator module
via the AV interface.
3 InstallatIon
3.1 InstallIng the module
– Observe the instructions for installing outlined in chapters 4 and 9 of the
assembly instructions KAB 3000.
– Assemble the Quad AV Adapting Unit left of the corresponding modulator
module in a short, non-numbered groove.
—> The illustration shows, for example, slot 3 (modulator module) and
the slot for the add-on module (Quad AV Adapting Unit) for installa-
tion.

5 fInal procedures
After installing the basis unit, upgrading accessories or installing modules it is
necessary to tighten all cable connections, cable terminals and cover screws in
order to maintain compliance with current EMC regulations.
Securely tighten the cable connections using an appropriate open-ended
spanner.
Test the output level of the output collector according to the KAB 3000 as-
sembly instructions and set the output level required for the cable system.
Mount the base plate and the front cover (see KAB 3000 assembly instruc-
tions).
