Ajuste de la distancia interpupilar (DIP) Debido
a que la distancia de separación entre los ojos (más
concretamente, la distancia que separa los centros de las
pupilas) es distinta para cada persona, hay que alinear
correctamente y ajustar los dos oculares de los binoculares.
Esta operación se conoce como el ajuste de la distancia
interpupilar. Para fijar la distancia, llévese los binoculares
a los ojos (con ambas manos) y mire por ellos a un objeto
situado a distancia. Desplace las dos secciones inferiores de
los binoculares en torno a la bisagra, hasta que observe un
círculo de imagen nítida y clara con ambos ojos.

Es necesario ajustar y regular el sistema de enfoque,

Adjusting the Interpupillary Distance (IPD)
Since the distance between the eyes (specifically, the
distance between the centers of the pupils) varies among
individuals, the two eyepieces of the binoculars must be
correctly aligned (adjusted). This is called adjusting the
interpupillary distance. To adjust this distance, lift the
binoculars up to your eyes (using both hands) and look
through them at an object in the distance. Move the two
halves of the binoculars about the hinge until you see one
clear circle of image through both eyes.

Since most people have a variance of vision from their
left eye to their right eye, you must adjust the focusing
system. Use the following steps to achieve focus: (1)
Close your right eye and look through the left side of the
binoculars with your left eye at the subject matter. Rotate
the center focusing wheel until the image appears in
sharp focus; (2) Close your left eye and look through
the right eyepiece (called the diopter). Rotate the right
eyepiece until the image appears in sharp focus; (3) Look
through both eyepieces with both eyes open. Since
you’ve already adjusted the right eyepiece, use only the
center focusing wheel to refocus on a new object at a
different distance.
Hint: Eyeglasses worn for nearsightedness should be worn
when using binoculars to reach a sharp focus.
Caution! Viewing the sun may cause permanent eye
damage. Do not view the sun with your binoculars or even
with the naked eye.

Ajuster l’écart interpupillaire (EIP) Puisque la
distance entre les yeux (plus précisément la distance
entre le centre des pupilles) varie selon chaque personne,
les deux oculaires des jumelles doivent être alignés
(ajustés) correctement. Il s’agit de l’ajustement de l’écart
interpupillaire. Pour ajuster cette distance, portez les
jumelles à vos yeux (à l’aide des deux mains) et regardez
un objet au loin à l’aide de vos jumelles. Déplacez les deux
moitiés des jumelles autour de la charnière jusqu’à ce que
vous voyiez, des deux yeux, un cercle net autour de l’image.
